Chapter 937: Fish and Eggplant with Fish
Albarran Bail prescribed the medication and gave it to Severo Laris, hiding a post-it note with the amount of medication to be administered.
Once Severo Laris left the hospital with Paula Rouco in his arms, several of the specialists who had made the joint diagnosis could not help but murmur.
“Miss Rouco is very ill, and if she is not hospitalized, I fear she may commit suicide.”
“I’m afraid she will then be more difficult to treat, and the whole cycle will drag on.”
Albarran Bail sighed, “I see that Professor Laris also needs to be treated together.”
When Albarran Bail said this, several other experts froze and looked at each other.
Albarran Bail looked at them and scoffed, “There is nothing to fear from a psychopath, it is psychopaths who come in pairs.”
One of the experts asked, “Dr. Bail, are you calling Professor Laris and Ms. Rouco a pair of psychopaths?”
Albarran Bail raised an eyebrow and shoved his hands in the pockets of his white coat, “Yes?”
“…”
…
Back on Villa Moon Lake Street, Severo Laris poured himself some hot water, took some pills and handed them to Paula Rouco.
Paula Rouco looked at the white pills in the palm of her hand and did not move.
Severo Laris sat down next to her and said in a low voice, “If you take the medicine, it won’t hurt so much, even if you are not hospitalized, it must be taken in time so they don’t take you away from me.”
Paula Rouco’s eyes averted and she said, somewhat defiantly, “Taking the pills makes me lazy.”
Severo Laris’ jaw tensed and his gaze was deep and loving as he gazed at her, “I don’t care if you become retarded, as long as you are well by my side, whatever it takes.”
Paula Rouco looked at him slowly and swallowed her dry throat as she said, “She’s going to get very silly.”
“It’s okay, Lita.”
Paula Rouco hesitantly squeezed the pills resting in her palm and looked back at Severo Laris pleadingly, “I’m not taking any pills, that’s all, can’t I? It doesn’t hurt now, so I can stop taking the pills if it doesn’t hurt, right?”.
Severo Laris looked at her with a sunken gaze, his eyes pained, and watched her in silence for a long time.
Paula Rouco saw that he said nothing and slipped her little hand up his sleeve, tugging at it, “Can I not take it? It really doesn’t hurt anymore, tomorrow I’ll run with you properly and I won’t let you carry me, but can I not take the medicine?”
Severo Laris’ mouth felt like it had glass stuck in it, and he couldn’t speak, but he looked into her eyes and they were red.
Severo Laris took her in his arms and hugged her tightly.
The pills, cupped in Paula Rouco’s hand, were thrown in the trash.
Severo Laris held her in his arms and could not let go.
Paula Rouco winked at him and childishly asked, “As of today, I eat well, sleep well and run well so I don’t have to take medication, right?”
“lita…” Severo Laris wanted to say something, but the words came out and then he swallowed them.
On his face, he couldn’t speak.
“Severo, do I really look like a patient?” asked Paula Rouco.
Severo Laris looked at her, tears rolling down his face, and said, “You are not.”
Paula Rouco: “Then why do I have to take the medicine?”
The man’s large hands, wrapped around the back of her neck, crushed her in his arms.
Severo Laris’ eyes cooled for a moment and he tossed the bottle of pills in his hand toward the corner of the floor, his thin lips spitting out the decisive words, “No more.
What’s the use of taking medication if it’s more painful than not taking it?
…
In the afternoon, Severo Laris went to cook.
Paula Rouco is lying on the couch, watching TV.
Severo Laris is in the kitchen, glancing from time to time to this side of the sofa.
The cell phone on the kitchen table rang.
Caller ID, Albarran Bail.
Severo Laris’ brow furrows and he simply refuses to answer.
How could an intelligent man like Severo Laris not know what Albarran Bail was calling him to say?
Nothing more than to ask if Paula Rouco has taken her medication. Or, to decide when to take Paula Rouco to the hospital for treatment.
And Severo Laris did not want to answer any of these questions.
He cut the phone and Albarran Bail continued to call.
Severo Laris had a touch of impatience on his forehead, but he finally answered, but he went to the balcony instead of answering in the open kitchen, where Paula Rouco would have heard him.
If she were overheard, she would think he was in cahoots with Albarran Bail.
Only after stepping out onto the open balcony did Severo Laris speak.
“You call your boss, Albarran Bail, over and over again, do you think that’s appropriate?”
Severo Laris’ tone was cold, clearly angry, and disregarded even his supposed gentlemanly manners.
Albarran Bail said, “Who I’m calling now is my patient’s family, not my boss or my boss’s boss. If you really don’t want to take the badge, have Paula Rouco’s parents contact me and I can stop contacting you.”
Severo Laris gritted his teeth and his gaze was sharp and full of coldness, but he was prevented from saying a single word.
Albarran Bail asked, “Am I calling to ask if Paula Rouco has taken her medication?”
Severo Laris did not bother to lie: “She did not eat.”
Albarran Bail is not at all surprised, “I have been treating Paula Rouco for more than a day or two now, this patient is very disobedient and is usually under and off her own medication, she will not get better without being hospitalized.”
“Albarran Bail, who are you cursing?”
Albarran Bail: “I’m being honest. stern Laris, if you don’t take Paula Rouco to the hospital, you’ll be waiting to see Paula Rouco’s second suicide!”
Albarran Bail’s words were excessive and deliberately provoked him.
Severo Laris grabbed his phone with his long, bony knuckles, the green and white visible.
Severo Laris violently slammed the phone in his hand against the wall.
The phone hit the wall and fell to the floor, its screen going dark for a split second and shattering into pieces.
Telephone interruptions.
Severo Laris looked at the broken phone on the floor and could not calm his emotions for long.
Like a pebble, thrown into the lake, it stirred a thousand waves, stirring and provoking his calm for a long time.
“Wow.”
Ribs turns around after a small blister, the white blister rolls to Severo Laris’ feet.
Severo Laris’ chest rose and fell, his gaze cold and stern as he stared at the vial of medicine at his feet.
As Ribs ran up to Severo Laris, he seemed to sense his master’s anger all over, and cocking his little face in embarrassment, he called out to Severo Laris, “Meow.”
He took several deep breaths before he suppressed the dreadful emotions in that chest, bent down, picked up the medicine bottle and cupped it in his palm.
He came back from the open terrace and pretended nothing had happened.
Severo Laris looked at Paula Rouco, who was lying on the couch watching the television, which, on the other hand, was showing the animated movie Peppa Pig.
Severo Laris asks, “Do the fish and eggplant with fish tonight, what else would you like to eat besides that?”
Paula Rouco’s face scrubbed against the pillow as she nonchalantly replied, “I’ll eat whatever you make.”NôvelDrama.Org content rights.
“Fine.”
Dinner is cooked simply, but there are quite a few dishes.
Severo Laris made chicken soup and ground up the pills and mixed them into his bowl of chicken soup.
So that he would not detect the bitterness, a little more sugar was added.
When it was time to start the meal, Severo Laris asked her to start with the chicken soup and Paula Rouco didn’t hesitate to drink half a bowl.
“Is it good?”
Paula Rouco frowned and said, “It tastes funny.”
Severo Laris said calmly, “Make another soup tomorrow.”
Paula Rouco’s eyes scanned the area and missed the fish and eggplant.
“Where is the eggplant?”
