Chapter 936: Severo, Don’t Leave Me Behind
Paula Rouco officially stays with Severo Laris for the first night at Villa Moon Lake Road.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Sleeping in the same bed.
Severo Laris bathed Costillas and groomed him before putting Costillas to bed.
Paula Rouco has sensitive skin and is easily allergic to dirty things, including dust in the air, so Severo Laris takes care of Costillas’ hygiene.
Because Paula Rouco is always in contact with Costillas.
Instantly, Costillas washed himself fragrantly and climbed into bed, snuggling into Paula Rouco’s arms.
Severo Laris came out of the bathroom after a shower and saw a man and a cat eating a sandwich.
Paula Rouco eats a little and tucks Costillas in.
On the bed, there is also a children’s book for fun.
The image is warm and cozy.
Severo Laris’ heart, which had been empty for a long time, was filled to overflowing at that moment.
He walked over and, after lying down on the bed, took Paula Rouco in his arms and leaned against her, picked up the Hans Christian Andersen storybook and asked, “Would you like to hear a story?”
Paula Rouco couldn’t sleep and a little story would help her fall asleep a little, “Hmm.”
Severo Laris flipped through the catalog, looked at it for a few moments and selected a story, “The girl who sold matches…”.
Paula Rouco’s head rested on her chest, a little tired, but not sleepy, “Mmm.”
When Severo Laris finished talking about The Girl Who Sold Matches, the girl in his arms was still looking intently with her two big, clear, not half asleep eyes.
Severo Laris put his arm around her and kissed her little neck down, flipping through some pages of the book, “Pulgarcito escucha?”.
Paula Rouco gave an “ahhh” as she held the chubby Costillas in her arms.
And then Severo Laris went on to say The Pea Princess and The Daughter of the Sea, and after an unknown amount of time, Paula Rouco lay in his arms, rolled over and buried her little face in his arms, drowsily.
Costillas also jumped out of her arms and Severo Laris closed the book of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales, placing it in a cupboard to one side and gently pulling up the blankets.
Turn off the light and move closer to her.
Severo Laris looked at the electronic clock on the side at 1 a. m. He had not gone to bed early. He hadn’t gone to bed early, but thank goodness it wasn’t 3 or 4 in the morning.
It had been a meteoric rise from 3 or 4 am to now falling asleep at 1 am.
Severo Laris didn’t ask for more.
Lowering his head, he kissed her forehead.
A good night’s sleep.
In the middle of the day, at 3:30 a. m., Paula Rouco woke up once and played with her phone for a while, but Severo Laris confiscated it.
After some more storytelling, Paula Rouco snuggled into his arms before falling back asleep, bored.
…
At half past nine the next morning, Severo Laris dragged Paula Rouco out of bed.
Even though Paula Rouco has a wake-up call, is grumpy in the morning and ignores Severo Laris, he shoves breakfast in her mouth.
Milk, half a glass, toast spread with fresh strawberry jam, he was forced to eat two slices, two bites of fried egg and the rest of the Severo Laris.
The hard-boiled eggs, which Paula Rouco did not want to eat, were too tasteless.
Severo Laris cooked coffee leaf eggs, which were delicious, but she also ate only the whites, the yolks were eaten by Severo Laris.
After breakfast, she was dragged by Severo Laris for her morning run.
A half kilometer run, half dragged.
She said her bones ached and squatted on the side of the road panting and refusing to go on.
Severo Laris had no choice but to crouch down and carry her.
Paula Rouco climbs on Severo Laris’ back and is carried on her back.
The lady selling breakfast on the roadside early in the morning saw the couple several times, laughing and teasing, “Do you need your husband to carry you when you go out for a run, then you don’t run for nothing?”
Severo Laris, a bit embarrassed, leaned the person on his back and said, “His bones hurt.”
The explanation is weak.
Severo Laris didn’t bother to explain it either, he just blurted it out.
Along the way, he attracted the attention of many passersby.
Severo Laris, excessively handsome even in a tracksuit, and Paula Rouco, especially attractive, and Severo Laris, carrying his girlfriend on his back, attracted many admiring glances.
Paula Rouco frowned and looked at the side of Severo Laris’ face, “Everyone is looking at you.”
“I’m carrying you, so they’re looking at me.”
Paula Rouco: “You’re not carrying them, so why do they keep looking at you?”
The tone is possessive, a bit domineering that is familiar to Severo Laris and exclusive to Paula Rouco.
Severo Laris leaned the man on his back and his thin lips curved, “Maybe your man is too dazzling.”
Paula Rouco covered both his cheeks with her two little hands, “No more glaring, they don’t get it, they don’t look.”
Severo Laris let out a laugh, a clear laughter emanating from his chest.
She was like a protective child, forbidding anyone to covet him.
Severo Laris felt happy in body and mind.
…
The pain in Paula Rouco’s body intensified when she was almost taken to Villa Moon Lake Road.
She clung to Severo Laris’ neck, chin resting on the side of the back of her neck, and said with some pain, “Severo Laris, it hurts.”
Severo Laris, his back to her, stiffened violently and unconsciously looked again at her small face.
Her face was pale, disheveled and vaguely racked with pain.
“Where does it hurt?”
“My bones ache and my whole body aches.”
Fang, he had always thought she was lying to him because she was lazy, but he never thought she really hurt.
The lump in Severo Laris’ throat rolled with nervous concern as he quickened his pace and led Paula Rouco inside the villa.
Then he took Paula Rouco directly to the hospital.
A joint consultation with specialists from various departments.
When Paula Rouco’s medical reports were all in, Albarran Bail, who was with the joint consultation, made a serious face.
Severo Laris asked, “Why does everything hurt?”.
Albarran Bail looked at the reports and said, “There are no lesions in terms of some of the vital organs of the liver, but there are alterations in the cerebral cortex, so the somatic pain experienced by the patient is due to a somatization psychosis caused by depression.”
Severo Laris, who is not a physician, much less a psychiatrist, frowned and asked, “Get your facts straight.”
Albarran Bail said, “In short, the pain the patient is experiencing throughout her body, including the cold and bone pain the patient describes, is due to somatic perception caused by depression. There is nothing wrong with her bones, and what is causing her to feel intense pain is a signal from the cerebral cortex, not actually harmful pain from any part of the body that is wrong.”
Severus Laris took a deep breath, his face cold as frost, “But he’s in pain now, is there any way to alleviate it?”
Albarran Bail pursed his lips, folded his arms together and gave a solution, “Take the medication.
If you take medication that suppresses depression, you will get relief from these conditions.
Severo Laris said, “Go get the medication while I go in to see her first.”
Albarran Bail: “This is something I must report to Professor Laris. A depression of her level cannot be resolved by medication alone, and I believe that, at this time, a period of hospitalization is most appropriate.”
Severo Laris pursed his lips, his face cold and somber, and after a long moment, he said, “Hospitalization is on hold.”
With this statement, Severo Laris addressed the room.
Albarran Bail, who stayed where he was, folded his arms and looked at Severo Laris’ back and gritted his teeth.
He now suspects that it is not Paula Rouco who is sick, but Severo Laris.
He doesn’t understand exactly why Severo Laris is so reluctant to have Paula Rouco hospitalized, when hospitalization is not going to kill Paula Rouco.
Besides, he owns the hospital, so how can they, the doctors, eat Paula Rouco alive?
When Severo Laris entered the room, he saw Paula Rouco curled up like a baby in his arms on the hospital bed.
On her cheeks, cold sweat beads.
Severo Laris strides over, “Lita?”
Paula Rouco was covered with a thick blanket, but she was still cold. She reached out and grabbed Severo Laris’ sleeve, her clear, almond-shaped eyes glistening with tears, “Severo Laris, I’m cold and in pain, help me.”
Severo Laris looked at her so helplessly that it was as if several sharp blades had been thrust hard into his heart and the blood was flowing.
He sat on the edge of the bed and took her, wrapped in the blanket, into his arms tightly.
“Would that be better?”
Paula Rouco looked up at him with tears in her eyes, “It hurts.”
Severo Laris opened her quilt and took her whole in his arms before wrapping her in it again.
Through the thin summer clothing, he felt the sweat all over her body, all in a cold sweat.
Severo Laris’ chin, pressed against the top of her head, she closed her eyes deeply and spoke in a muffled voice: “lita, if it hurts too much, shall we hospitalize you…?”
Paula Rouco looked at him, tears rolling down her face, pained and helpless, “Are you abandoning me?”
Severo Laris looked at her and opened his lips, surprisingly unable to say a word.
Paula Rouco looked up at him pleadingly, “Don’t leave me here, no, Severo, don’t leave me with the doctor, I’m going to be out of my mind. Don’t leave me here, okay?
Four years ago, at the time of her suicide, she was compulsorily hospitalized.
During those days, she had no access to the outside world. It was as if she was trapped in an airtight cage, immobilized in a hospital bed and on medication, injections and fluids every day.
She felt no dignity in having to be supervised by a caregiver to monitor even things like urination and defecation, and she wanted to die in pain.
Severo Laris looked at her, his fingers wiped the cold sweat and tears from her face as he swallowed the lump in his throat and said, “I will stay with you in the hospital, I will not leave.”
Paula Rouco cried and shook her head, she was no fool, “They won’t let you be here, don’t believe them ok Severo, you really don’t want to leave me with them, they won’t let you see me, they lie.”
Severo Laris looked into her reddened eyes and the tips of his heart trembled.
Finally he hugged her tightly and said, “Okay, I don’t believe them, I won’t give you to them.”
In an instant, Paula Rouco’s arms tightened around Severo Laris’ neck and she said fearfully, “It doesn’t hurt anymore, Severo, come on.”
Severo Laris closed his eyes and was relentless: “Let’s get the medicine before we go, okay? Take the medicine and it won’t hurt.”
“I don’t need to take any medication, I’m fine.” Paula Rouco said as she looked at him.
Severo Laris’ eyes were scarlet at the corners and he took a deep breath, cupping her face with his large hand and coaxing softly, “Just a moment, I’ll be here, I won’t let them take you, lita, trust me.”
