Chapter 317 Better off Dead
Elijah looked down on him with disdain, as if he were looking at an ant. “I told you, I will make you wish you were dead.”
Thorne lay on the ground, consumed by hatred. His hands trembled uncontrollably, the veins on the back of his hands bulging with anger. Both named Silverton, he couldn’t accept his own wretched state while Elijah looked down on him from above. He refused to accept that he had once again lost. And this time, he had lost completely. He rose from the ground, his features contorted in a menacing manner.
“Elijah, you’re afraid. You don’t dare to kill me on your own. In my eyes, you’re a coward. You’re not a real man. If you have the guts, kill me and don’t let me despise you.” As Thorne spoke, he made a move as if he was going to rush towards Elijah, intending to take him down with him.
However, before he could even move, his actions were restrained.
The director said, “It’s time for his medication today.”
Thorne struggled, but he didn’t have enough strength. Ever since he was locked up, he had been given an injection every day. The medication caused his muscles to atrophy, leaving him weak and powerless. He couldn’t even kill himself. After the injection, he was left lying on the ground.
They weren’t afraid of him running away. First, he had no strength. Second, there was a tracker inside him. He couldn’t escape. The feeling of not being able to die even if he wanted to was truly worse than death.
Thorne looked up, laughing coldly. “Elijah, can you really consider this a victory? Freya is dead. Will you mourn her for the rest of your life? Haha…”
He seemed almost insane. “I did everything I could, even infiltrated Orion’s wedding. I had a waiter pass her a note, trying to trick her into going upstairs so I could capture her. But she didn’t fall for it, so I had to focus on your child. This time, I succeeded. I caught her. Even though you have control over me now, I still came out on top. I took Freya’s life.” He looked at Elijah. “I struck when you weren’t there, and it was surprisingly easy.”
Every time he heard the name Freya, Elijah’s gaze couldn’t help but darken.
Was it him who passed the note at Orion’s wedding?
He had been careless. He should have been more cautious. Maybe then, Freya wouldn’t have left him for good. He turned away.
“I don’t want to hear his voice.”
The director understood and had Thorne gagged, then beat him up. Elijah was somewhat satisfied as he walked out, with the director following behind.
“You’ll be receiving a sum of funds today.” Elijah said.
The director hurriedly responded, “Thank you, Mr Silverton. Without your donation, the hospital wouldn’t be able to sustain itself.”
Elijah’s tone was indifferent. “Don’t let him die.”
The director answered respectfully, “I understand. We will keep a close watch on him, but being surrounded by a group of mental patients all day, I believe he will eventually go insane.”
Elijah remained silent, bent down and got into his car, driving away.
After that, he returned to his company. Headence Group was once again in his hands. However, it was no longer called Headence Group, but rather KaiGenius, serving as the domestic branch of Skyline Co..
Evan walked into his office. “Mr Silverton.” He handed over a document. “This woman seems to be investigating Madam’s grave.”
Elijah didn’t look at the document, but had a guess in his mind. He asked, “Who is she?”
“I checked, she is Eric Lowe and… ‘s daughter.” Evan said, lowering his head, not mentioning the name Joan Nash.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
For such an existence, he didn’t know how Elijah would handle it.
“I don’t want to see her in the country.” Elijah opened a file, quickly skimmed through it, signed it, and put it aside.
“I understand.” Evan turned and left.
But the office door was forcefully pushed open. The secretary glanced at the woman who barged in without a trace of expression, then lowered her head and said to Elijah, “Mr Silverton, she forced her way in. I couldn’t stop her.”
The secretary had requested to be transferred back after hearing about Freya’s death. This side needed manpower, so Evan brought her back. Elijah was not easy to deal with now. Evan thought having more people around would make it easier for himself.
But… how did she come here?!
