You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 316 A Lifetime of Waiting

Those few words were shocking, and Elijah could see the surprise on his face.

The phone screen dimmed. Elijah pressed the screen to wake it up. The message appeared on the screen again, and he wanted to open it, but his fingers trembled slightly. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t calm down. He trembled as he opened the message. However, the text message only contained a few words.

[Freya is still alive.]

He furrowed his brow. His pupils dilated.

The phone vibrated again, followed by another message.

[If you want to know Freya’s whereabouts, come to Room 709.]

Elijah tasted it and realized that this was intentional. Someone wanted to lure him to Room 709. He furrowed his brow. Even though he knew it was a trap, he still went. When it came to Freya, he was never calm. Or rather, he was extremely agitated. Even though he knew she was dead, he would still foolishly believe a text message.

Elijah left the room, and Room 709 was on the same floor, so he easily found it.

“Elijah, I can’t believe you fell for it.” Ronan laughed heartily.

The Elijah he knew was incredibly smart and would surely see through this trap. But in fact, he foolishly walked right into it.

“Didn’t expect you to be so stupid.” Ronan laughed until his stomach hurt.

Elijah looked at him coldly, as if he were looking at a fool, and warned, “If you ever joke about her again, I will make you suffer a miserable death.”

With that, he turned and left.

Ronan leaned against the door frame, crossing his arms. “Freya is dead. I don’t believe you can wait for her for a lifetime.”

Elijah walked away without a pause in his footsteps.

Ronan frowned, “Elijah, how about we make a bet? I bet that after one year, you will move on to someone else. Do you believe it or not?”

No one paid him any attention.

“Hey…”

“Bang!”

The door slammed shut.

“If he can move on to someone else after a year, I’m willing to shorten my lifespan by a year.” Evan said.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

Ronan didn’t know when Evan came out of the room and heard his words.

Ronan sneered, “He will move on, don’t worry.”

Evan wasn’t so optimistic. “Not necessarily.” He understood Elijah more than Ronan did.

“You men are all the same.” Ronan snorted and turned back to his room.

Evan’s eye twitched, and he asked, “Ronan, aren’t you a man?”

“Are you gay?” After saying that, Evan closed the door.

“I call you men because we’re not the same kind of men. You guys belong to the flirtatious ones…”

There was no one in the corridor, and he stood alone at the door, talking like a fool. He reluctantly lowered his voice and sneered towards Evan’s room, “Stupid man!”

Elijah came here to take care of something, and once he was done, he would return home.

Kai could already walk steadily. When Elijah returned to their residence, Kai pounced on him and hugged his legs.

“Mama…”

Kai didn’t know how to say “Papa” yet. Elijah didn’t deliberately teach him to say “Papa.” He liked hearing Kai vaguely call him “Mama.”

“Mama…”

Kai buried his little face between Elijah’s legs. Elijah bent down and picked up his son. Kai smiled softly, seeming to have missed him, and he kissed Elijah’s face, leaving a drool trail, which was Kai’s saliva. Elijah frowned, disgusted. He grabbed a piece of tissue and wiped off the drool from Kai’s mouth, then wiped his face.

The home phone rang again. Linda answered it. From the other end, they seemed to say something, and she looked at Elijah. “Mr Silverton, they called to say that Thorne has escaped again.”

The word “again” was the essence. Looking at Linda’s expression, it seemed like she was used to it already. This was probably the hundredth time Thorne Silverton had escaped. And then he would be caught again. Elijah gave a faint “hmm” to indicate that he knew.

Riverside Haven Mental Hospital.

Thorne Silverton was locked up here.

Elijah didn’t take him to the police station. Instead, he treated him as a mentally ill person and kept him here. The supervision over him was very loose, giving him the opportunity to escape anytime, anywhere. And he did his best to escape. But every time he thought he had succeeded, he would be caught again. Time after time…

Thorne himself now felt like he was insane. Every time he escaped, every time he was caught, he felt like the act of escaping was something he had imagined, something that had happened and yet hadn’t. His thoughts were in chaos.

“Elijah! Let him out! If you have the guts, kill me.” He crazily pounded on the iron door. The iron door was struck with loud bangs.

“Mr Silverton,”

The director came to open the door. Elijah stood at the door. Thorne still wanted to knock on the door, but the door suddenly opened. He knocked on thin air, unable to support himself, and fell flat on his face. He looked up and saw Elijah, his hands clenched into fists, a strong hatred burning in his eyes, like a raging fire.

Through gritted teeth, he yelled, “Elijah!”
