Chapter 299 The Culprit
“What’s the solution?” asked Xander excitedly.
“Freya is dead, who is the culprit?” asked Evan.
Xander looked at him as if he was looking at an idiot.
“Of course it’s Thorne, the one responsible for all of this!”
“But what if Thorne escapes…” Evan said.
“He won’t be able to escape, I won’t give him a chance.” Evan was interrupted by Xander, who said fiercely, “If he dares to run, I’ll cripple his legs.”
Evan didn’t rush to speak, but waited for Xander to calm down before explaining his idea. “I know he can’t escape, but we can let him go…”
“Just not killing him would be good enough, and now you want to let him go? Are you out of your mind?” Xander didn’t understand Evan’s thinking.
Evan rolled his eyes at him. “Can you just listen to me quietly? Stop interrupting me all the time?”
Xander finally quieted down and asked, “What are you trying to say?”
“What I mean is, right now Elijah is immersed in Freya’s death and can’t move on. If we tell him that the person who killed Freya has escaped and gotten away with it, would he not be motivated to get revenge for Freya and find the strength to move forward?”
After hearing Evan’s words, Xander fell into deep thought. There was no other viable solution right now. Even Kai couldn’t bring Elijah out of his grief. So, using hatred to ignite him seemed worth a try.
“I’ll take Kai back first, and then go release Thorne…” Xander said.
“Hold on,” Evan stopped him and said, “No rush. It wouldn’t be good if things got out of hand. We need to make some preparations. He’s probably still unconscious, right?”
“He should be. That tranquilizer gun can keep someone unconscious for over ten hours.”
“Give him another dose to deepen his unconsciousness. While he’s out, implant a tracker in his body. That way, no matter where he runs off to, we’ll know his location.”
Xander stared at him for several seconds and said, “Good idea. I’ll handle this.”
“The hiding spot must be discreet, he can’t find it.” Evan instructed.
“No worries, I’ll make sure of it.”
Kai had cried to the point of exhaustion and could only sob in Xander’s arms. Xander didn’t know how to take care of a child, so he had to take Kai back and let Elowen and Linda take care of him. After Xander left, Evan agonizingly stood alone outside the operating room. He leaned against the wall. His only hope was that Xander would act quickly. The wait was excruciating for him.
“Evan.” Elijah suddenly spoke up.
Evan was stunned. He thought he had misheard. He cautiously walked in and stood at the doorway. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
“Mr Silverton?”
“Find me a place, it needs to have a good location and environment. If you can’t find one, build it.”
Evan was taken aback again. What did he mean? He couldn’t possibly want to keep Freya’s body, could he? Wouldn’t it be better to bury the deceased?
“Um… Mr Silverton,” Evan stumbled over his words and said, “I think it’s better to bury her.”
Elijah’s gaze turned cold. There was no anger in his words. He seemed calm now. But there was no warmth or emotion in his eyes. It was somewhat unsettling to look at.
“Do you question what I say?” Elijah spoke neither harshly nor softly.
“No.” Evan quickly defended himself, “I’ll take care of it right away.”
Evan turned and walked away, afraid that if he were a moment too late, he would be torn apart. Although Elijah appeared calm, the pressure he emitted was suffocating, making it hard to breathe.

In another operating room of the hospital.
Sivin Peters looked at the person lying on the bed and asked, “Are you really sure about this?”
