“Luna stayed here for a while, right? I can tell that Zane seems to have a little crush on her,” Elowen said. Elowen was quite perceptive herself. Zane released the receiver and said to Luna, “Come over early the day after tomorrow.”

Luna said, “I don’t have time.”

“I have an urgent matter and I need your help, just this once. I won’t bother you again in the future, please, I’m begging you.”

Luna still refused, “I really don’t have the time…”

“Luna, please just agree to it. Remember that I just went to see you, pity me a little.” Zane pleaded desperately, his tone extremely humble.

Zane smiled and then teased Kai, “Call me ‘Uncle’.”

Elowen said, “He can’t even call his grandmother yet. As his uncle, you’ll have to wait.”

“That’s not necessarily true. Maybe he’ll call me ‘Uncle’ first, right?” Zane reached out his hand. “Freya, come here and let me hold him.”

Freya handed Kai to him. The child wasn’t shy and didn’t object. He let Zane hold him.

“He’s in a good mood today. If he’s not in a good mood, he definitely won’t let you hold him. He used to cry a lot a few days ago.” Said Freya.

“Our Kai is a tough and brave little man, he won’t cry.” Zane held Kai and kissed his cheek. Kai wrinkled his tender brows, seeming to dislike it. He pursed his lips.

During the meal, Freya didn’t have much of an appetite because Elowen was present. She pretended to enjoy the food.

Zane also chimed in, “Yeah, are you working too hard?”

Freya quickly said, “Yes, I have been busy with work lately.”

“Take care of yourself. When Kai is a little older in a year, you can have a daughter with Elijah, and then you’ll have a perfect family.” Elowen said.

Freya lowered her gaze. “Mom, let’s focus on eating.”

And with Zane present, it wasn’t the right time for this topic.

Elowen smiled and said, “Alright, let’s drop it.”

After finishing the meal, Kai fell asleep. Elowen insisted that they stay the night, as Freya mentioned that Kai was familiar with the bed and she was afraid he wouldn’t sleep well. Elowen couldn’t insist any longer.

Sitting in the car on the way back home, Freya held the sleeping Kai in her arms and held her phone in her hand. The neon lights outside the car window were dazzling, passing over her face in clusters. After hesitating for a long time, she fluttered her curled lashes and finally sent a message to Elijah.
