Chapter 207 Pregnancy
Thorne comforted Arwen by gently patting her back. “Mom, Dad just made a foolish mistake. He will change.”
Even if Colton ended things with that woman right away, Arwen would still feel disgusted. She was too proud to tolerate such a thing, but it had already happened, and she couldn’t do anything about it. Taking a deep breath, Arwen tried to calm herself down. “Tell me, who is that woman?!”
She wanted to see for herself what kind of woman had defeated her.
Colton felt helpless.
Just then, his phone in his pocket rang. Arwen and Thorne both looked at him. Colton didn’t like being scrutinized by them as if he had committed some unforgivable crime. He had just found a woman.
“What’s the big deal if I, with my wealth, find a woman?” Colton turned around and walked out of the room before finishing his sentence.
Arwen remained silent.
Thorne was also angry at his father’s behavior. Now he couldn’t leave, fearing that his mother would faint again without anyone by her side.
“Mom, I’m on your side,” Thorne reassured his mother, holding her hand.
Thorne was now her only hope. She held her son’s hand tightly. “You must run the company well so that I can rely on you to suppress your father. I won’t have to feel so suffocated. He has truly hurt my heart, it’s too much!”
“I know,” Thorne tried his best to comfort his mother.
Meanwhile, Colton, who had left the hospital room, answered the call at the staircase.
“Didn’t I tell you not to call me easily?” Colton sounded annoyed.
Because of Arwen, he was irritated.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
Elara’s voice sounded delicate and sweet. “I’m pregnant. I thought I should tell you. I know you have a family, and you definitely won’t want this child. I’m planning to go to the hospital for an abortion. Don’t worry about me, I’m young, and my body will recover quickly…”
“What?” Colton thought he was hallucinating for a moment. “You’re pregnant?”
Without waiting for Elara to speak, he quickly said, “Who said I don’t want it? Who allowed you to have an abortion? Even if you’re young, abortion is harmful to your body. Don’t go to the hospital. Wait for me obediently, I’ll come to see you.”
Elara whispered, “Okay.”
Colton hung up the phone, holding it as he passed by Arwen’s room. But instead of going inside, he left directly to meet Elara.
Arwen caught a glimpse of his fleeting figure. Her heart shattered into pieces. “Thorne, find out who that woman is. I want all her information.”
“I’ll have someone…” Thorne began to say.
“Do it now,” Arwen lost control and growled.
Clearly, Colton had fallen into the clutches of a vixen. She needed to know who this woman was right now.
Thorne’s words were cut off before he could finish. He had no choice but to act immediately.
Thorne was efficient in his actions. He had only seen Elara once when he discovered Colton’s affair, and he had been secretly keeping an eye on her, so it wasn’t difficult to investigate.
When Thorne handed Arwen Elara’s information, Arwen stared at the person in the photo, her eyes almost popping out.
“Mom, do you know this girl?” Thorne asked.
Arwen chuckled coldly. “Do I know her? That’s an understatement.”
“What do you mean?” Thorne didn’t understand.
But Arwen didn’t bother to explain to him in detail. She got off the bed and said, “I want to go see her.”
Thorne didn’t stop her, because it was clear that he couldn’t. He was exhausted, with a pile of work to do for the company, and now this mess at home. He felt embarrassed and helpless. He led his mother to Colton and Elara’s “love nest”. Arwen suppressed her anger, trying not to explode. But she couldn’t help but feel angry. Colton cheated on her, and he chose Elara as his mistress, even going so far as to settle her in such an upscale neighborhood. She couldn’t help but feel angry.
Colton accompanied Elara to the hospital for a check-up, and the results confirmed that she was indeed pregnant. Colton was overjoyed when he saw the result. He had always felt that having only Thorne as a child was not enough, and he wanted a daughter. But Arwen refused to have another child, citing concerns about her figure. She thought having a son was sufficient. At his age, Colton was naturally happy to have a child. How many people at his age could still have their own children?
Having a child made him feel young again, as if he had returned to his youth. He found passion in Elara, his voice from the past, like a stagnant pond. And with Arwen keeping such a tight leash on him, being with Elara made him happy. Elara would act coquettish and depend on him, restoring his dignity as a man. He hugged Elara and returned home. Arwen happened to catch a glimpse of them at the entrance.
Arwen really wanted to rush over and slap Elara across the face. But now she was calm. She knew that hitting wouldn’t solve anything. Only by making Colton disgusted with Elara would he get rid of this shameless woman.
“Colton, you found someone, fine, but at our age, getting a divorce would only make us a laughingstock. But when you find someone, can’t you find someone clean? You found such a dirty woman, not only dirtying yourself, but also tarnishing the reputation of the Silverton family…”
Colton was currently in a good mood, so naturally he didn’t want to hear Arwen belittle Elara.
“Why aren’t you staying at home? Why did you come here? Elara didn’t provoke you, so why speak so harshly? What do you mean by dirty? She’s pure, she’s clean!” Colton angrily retorted.
Elara nervously pressed closer to Colton, trembling like a frightened kitten. “I’m scared.”
Colton hugged her shoulders, reassuring her, “Don’t be scared, I’m here.”
Arwen felt like she was going to be driven to death by anger.
“Elara, tell me yourself, are you dirty?” Arwen lost her composure.
It’s hard to make the right decisions when you’re not calm. Just Like Now
Colton was clearly on Elara’s side, not even bothering to pay attention to Arwen. Yet here she was, constantly blaming Elara. If only she could calm down, she would realize that Elara had become quite clever, unlike before. But anger clouded Arwen’s judgment, leaving no room for calm thinking.
“Don’t slander me with your words. Colton knows what kind of person I am,” Elara snuggled in Colton’s arms, her gaze both fragile and provocative as she glanced at Arwen. She felt a sense of revenge in her heart!
Luckily, Xander took her to get repaired. Now, Colton believed that that night was her first time. Arwen’s words were like venomous attacks. They would only make Colton resentful. Colton, moved by Elara’s dependence, felt the urge to protect her and gave Arwen a stern look.
Arwen had never experienced such humiliation. Her anger was about to explode, “Elara, do you dare to swear?”
Elara was not afraid at all. With Colton backing her up and a growing baby in her belly, Colton was spoiling her.
“Why should I swear?” she feigned innocence, feigned vulnerability.
Unfortunately, Colton fell for it.
“All of you, get out and never disturb Elara again. The doctor said she needs peace to nurture the baby.”
