You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 162 I Want to Kiss You

Elijah stood tall, showing no signs of evasion. “Yes.”

Jack Silverton’s face darkened. Having lived to his age, he cared little about familial bonds, but what mattered most to him was the reputation of the Silverton family. He had handed over the entire family to Elijah as a way to appease him, considering that family matters should be kept private. He was afraid that Elijah, ignoring consequences, would magnify the family’s issues.

“Do you realize your mistake?” Jack seldom adopted a superior attitude in front of Elijah. This was one of the rare occasions.

Elijah raised his lips, creating an arc that was both cold and rigid, expressing dissatisfaction that seemed to emanate from his chest. “Grandfather, you knew Thorne kidnapped my child and my woman, yet you didn’t stop it or inform me. I want to know, Grandfather, what is your stance? Do you approve of his actions, or were you involved too?”

Jack was taken aback. “How do you know what I know?”

He thought he had kept it discreet, with only Deck being aware.

Jack Silverton’s piercing gaze shifted toward Deck. Quickly, Deck explained, “Sir, I didn’t disclose anything…”

“How did you think I found the ship?” Elijah’s eyes were cold. “I saw you returning from the sea with my own eyes. I followed the clues and found it.”

Elijah walked over, sat down in a chair, casually crossing his legs. “I want to know your opinion on this matter, Grandfather.”

“Thorne did it himself, and he should bear the consequences,” Elijah stood up after speaking.

“Because of a child and a woman, you’re willing to forsake the reputation of the Silverton family?” Jack couldn’t accept Elijah’s attitude. He cared about the child and the woman, but he couldn’t forsake the family’s reputation for them.

Elijah found the irony in Jack Silverton’s words. “Reputation?”

“Your reputation was lost the day my parents died,” he turned around. Although he harbored resentment, he had suppressed it over the years, showing respect for Jack as an elder. However, Jack’s recent actions left him feeling cold.

“Are you turning against me?” Jack asked in horror.

“I’m not turning against you, you’ve already sided with your son,” Elijah’s voice was cold, devoid of warmth. His heart felt no warmth for the family he was supposed to be working for.

Jack was stunned.

Elijah left the old mansion. Standing at the gate for a moment, he took a few steps and headed toward the car. Jack was the only emotional tie he had to this family. Now, even that had dissipated.

“Where to?” the driver asked softly.

Elijah glanced out the window, his stern face showing no expression. It was only when he thought of someone that he seemed to soften a bit. “Go to the Stone family.”

“Understood.” The driver started the car and drove toward the Stone family.

As soon as the car arrived at the Stone family, Elijah got out. “Leave the keys, you can go back.”

“Sure.” The driver parked the car, handed over the keys, and Elijah walked towards the house.

In the living room, Freya was not present, and it was eerily quiet.

He frowned slightly.

That didn’t make sense. She wouldn’t take the child out just after finding him. He checked each room one by one, starting downstairs and moving upstairs. Finally, when he pushed open a room door, he saw Freya. She was lying on her side in bed, gently patting the baby, soothing him to sleep.

He walked in quietly. Even though his movements were light, Freya noticed someone entering. She turned her head and saw Elijah. Pulling a thin blanket from the side, she covered Kai, who was in the crib. She then sat on the edge of the bed, looking at him. “You came back. Is there something wrong?”

Elijah said, “No.”This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

Freya raised an eyebrow, clearly not believing his words. If there was nothing wrong, why had his phone rung twice in succession?

But Freya didn’t ask more.

“You’re not going to the company…”

“I’m not going,” he said, approaching and hugging Freya. She tried to resist, but Elijah held her tighter, whispering, “Don’t move. Let me hold you for a moment.”

Freya was slightly taken aback. If she sat on the bed and Elijah stood, she would be enveloped, her face against his abdomen. For some reason, she felt Elijah’s low spirits. Instinctively, she reached out and circled his waist, asking with concern, “What’s wrong?”

Elijah didn’t speak, his fingers constantly stroking her hair. Holding her, his heart felt a bit warmer, a bit more secure.

“I’m so glad, it was you that night.” Elijah suddenly spoke in a low voice.

Freya’s body stiffened. Knowing it was him, this was the first time they had brought up that night. She felt a bit shy and embarrassed.

“Well…” Elijah began.

“Weren’t you afraid?” he asked.

Freya lowered her eyes. How could she not be afraid? It was just that he held a knife in his hand, and as long as he didn’t harm her, she knew he wasn’t a bad person.

“Why didn’t you push me away?” he asked again.

Freya knew he was referring to what happened that night. It was the most indulgent night of her life. She had never regretted it until she realized she was starting to like him, which made her regret a bit. However, it seemed that the mistake of that night wasn’t as wrong as she thought.

At that time, it was clearly rebellion, a resistance to Leo Stone’s threat. She didn’t say it out loud, choosing to tease him, “Because I could cuckold you.”

Elijah chuckled. “So, you hated me?”

“Yeah.” She deliberately nodded forcefully.

Elijah reached out and lifted her chin. Freya had to tilt her head. Their eyes met in the air. Her bright and clear eyes made Elijah feel a sense of familiarity as if he had seen them somewhere before. For a moment, he couldn’t remember.

“What are you thinking?” asked Freya.

Elijah came back to his senses, saying, “Nothing much.”

His fingertips traced her cheek, falling to her earlobe. Freya’s face turned slightly red and warm. Slowly, Elijah leaned down. In the warm light, Freya seemed to possess a unique charm that was usually unseen. Elijah lowered his eyes, the bright sparkle in his clear eyes resembling the twinkling stars in the night sky.

“I want to kiss you.”

As his words fell, his warm lips had already covered hers. Freya didn’t avoid it, responding in acceptance. As they were engrossed in the moment, Freya reached out, accidentally knocking down a photo frame from the bedside table.

A loud crash interrupted the two.

Elijah looked over and asked, “What?”

Freya replied, “It’s a childhood photo of mine.”

Suddenly, Elijah became interested. “Can I have a look?”

“Sure.” Freya picked it up and handed it to him.

Elijah took it, and when he saw the person in the photo, his brow furrowed deeply.
