You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 143 Ruthless Heart

Elowen explained, “You see, he’s having relationship issues with other women. Will he have time to pursue Freya? Maybe, as you said, Freya ran away on the way to the wedding.”

Elowen thought she understood men well.

Perhaps it was because she married Leo Stone, a man who betrayed her, making her believe that all men had fickle hearts. Especially someone like Elijah, a man who got whatever he wanted, and women flocked to him like fish to water. It seemed like there were countless women after him!

If he truly loved Freya, why divorce Freya?

If they were genuinely in love, why did Freya hide Kai’s identity from him?

Clearly, Elijah was heartless, which led Freya to marry Ronan Vega for her child’s sake.

Realizing this, Elowen suddenly became aware of something. “Freya probably wouldn’t leave Kai alone and run away!”

“Maybe she first wanted to escape herself and then figure out how to save Kai?” Zane suggested.

Elowen thought about it and found it plausible.

“Should we go back?” Zane asked.

Elowen nodded. “Yes, even if it’s him, if we ask, will he admit it?”

“All up to you,” Zane said.

So, they hailed a cab back.

“You handle the company matters first; we’ll wait. If Freya really ran away, she’ll definitely contact us.” Elowen said.

Zane nodded and lanced at Elowen. Elowen showed no interest in meddling with the company’s affairs; it seemed she genuinely trusted him. His guard against her decreased a bit.

Elijah, on the other hand, was completely unaware that Elowen had witnessed the recent scene.

Elara Montague had also completely lost control, lacking her usual composure. After being transferred, she and Elijah were unlikely to be together. She couldn’t accept this outcome The more distressed she became, the calmer Elijah appeared.

Comparing her to Freya, Freya seemed much more composed. But thinking of Freya’s composure made Elijah feel helpless. He didn’t like she being that composed. Freya wasn’t just composed; she was also stubborn. She had no idea what being gentle meant. She only knew how to make him angry.

Thinking of Freya, Elijah felt utterly helpless. Everything in front of him made him irritable. He rolled down the car window, “Can’t you handle such a trivial matter?”

It wasn’t that they couldn’t handle it; it was a woman like Elara throwing herself at Elijah’s car, creating an impression of romantic entanglement. They didn’t dare to be too forceful.

Hearing Elijah’s words, they had no reservations. They forcefully pulled the woman away, and Elara Montague’s hand got scratched.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Elijah stepped on the gas, not pausing at all, and drove straight into the underground garage. Elara watched the car leave, tears streaming down her face. She bit her lip forcefully and scolded the people still holding onto her, “Let go of me!”

Seeing Elijah had left, the security let her go. Elara looked disheveled. She knew the only person who could help her was Jack Silverton. She wiped away her tears and drove to the old mansion of the Silverton family.

Jack Silverton hadn’t been in great spirits these days. Although Deck had admitted to his actions voluntarily, he had been coerced. It was worth sympathy. However, because of Deck’s influence, he had separated Freya and Elijah. Jack Silverton had originally wanted to find someone for Elijah who could give him a sense of home, but now everything was in chaos.

Jack Silverton couldn’t imagine how Elijah would treat him once he found out that it was because of him and Deck that he and Freya were separated, and his child was captured.

“What should I do in the future?” Jack Silverton wasn’t oblivious. After all, Deck had been with him for most of his life, and he didn’t want to throw him under the bus just because of this incident.

“Sir.” Deck bowed, very respectful. “Shall I confess to Young Master?”

“Forget it. With his temper, would you even survive? Look at your physique.” Jack Silverton said, “Now that things have come to this, I don’t want there to be a next time.”

“You can rest assured, there won’t be a next time.” Deck vowed.

“By the way, have you found Freya?”

Deck also knew about the forced marriage.

Deck shook his head. “It’s quite peculiar. No traces left, and I can’t figure out who did it.”

“Do you think it’s the work of Elijah?” Jack Silverton asked.

Deck pondered for a moment. “Although Young Master seems to have a good impression of Freya, would he go to the extent of forcing a marriage, even if it means going against Freya’s desire to marry someone else?”

“They’ve only been married for a little over a year, and Freya disappeared for several months during that time. Even if there were feelings, it shouldn’t be that deep.” Jack Silverton speculated.

“That’s right. Young Master is a rational person; he shouldn’t be so infatuated with a woman to the point of forcefully marrying her, even if it’s against her will.” Deck analyzed.

Jack contemplated for a moment and thought Deck made some sense. So far, he had never seen Elijah do anything absurd for a woman.

“Sir, do you want to find someone to take care of Young Master? Clearly, Freya is not suitable; she’s too opinionated, don’t you think?” Deck suggested.

Jack Silverton squinted his eyes. “She’s a doctor, and nowadays, most girls are opinionated, aren’t they?”

Deck shook his head. “Don’t you think Elara Montague is easier to control?”

“I know you want me to give up Freya and choose Elara Montague, but you saw it yesterday. I invited them to the mansion for dinner, and Elijah didn’t even give me face. It’s evident that matchmaking him with Elara Montague is difficult.” Jack Silverton once thought he was wrong from the beginning, but considering his age, he couldn’t let go until he saw Elijah with someone he liked.

If Elijah didn’t understand emotions, after he died, he might become even more ruthless.

“I think the woman who stays by Young Master’s side doesn’t need to be too clever. As long as she loves him enough and takes care of his life, I think that’s enough. Don’t you think, Sir?” Deck suggested.

Jack glanced at him “Are you suggesting I continue to match Elara with Elijah?”

“You promised Gideon Reyes to take care of his granddaughter. It was your proposal in the first place. If you give up halfway, how can you justify it?” Deck paused and continued, “Think about it. Besides her, who else is suitable now?”

Jack coughed twice, and Deck quickly poured two glasses of water. “Have a sip of water, soothe your throat.”

Jack took a sip, easing his discomfort a bit, although his throat still felt uncomfortable.

“Do you want me to call Dr Russo to take a look?” Deck asked.

Jack waved his hand. “No need!”

Suddenly, a servant came in. “Sir, Miss Montague is here.”

Jack was currently irritated and frowned. “What is she doing here?”

“I don’t know. She’s crying and seems to have suffered some grievance,” the servant replied.

Deck whispered, “I’ll go and send her away…”

“Forget it, let her in,” Jack waved his hand.

Gideon Reyes and he had a close relationship, and now Gideon had only one granddaughter. If he didn’t take care of her well, he would be letting down his old friend.

“Grandpa,” Elara cried, walking in with a distressed look.

“What’s wrong?” asked Jack though he felt a bit impatient in his heart.
