You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 138 He Can Still Afford to Support Me

“Elijah Silverton?” Zane Stone was no longer calm. “Freya, isn’t he your husband? He even sent his assistant to help you before. Why would he suddenly make things difficult for you?”

“Zane, what are you talking about? When did he get married? And with your sister?” The head of shipping was surprised.

After all, the marriage between Freya and Elijah was not widely known. Few people knew about it, especially someone irrelevant like the head of shipping, who wouldn’t have any clue.

Freya smiled and explained, “Zane just had a bit too much to drink. Don’t listen to his nonsense.”

Having said that, she took Zane to the office, asking the shipping head to leave early. “We’ll figure this out tomorrow.”

“Oh, alright.” The head of shipping didn’t think much about it, assuming Zane Stone was just talking nonsense due to being drunk.

“Freya.” Zane furrowed his brow. “Why did you pull me aside? And you did marry Elijah Silverton, right?”

“Zane.” Freya interrupted him. “I’ve already divorced him, so, from now on, don’t mention in front of others that I was once married to him.”

“When did that happen?” Zane widened his eyes. “And he doesn’t want his own son?”

“He doesn’t know Kai is his child.” Freya said, “And you’re not allowed to reveal it.”

Zane was momentarily stunned. “Aren’t you afraid I might not keep the secret and tell Elijah Silverton about Kai?”Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

“Dad is gone. Though we don’t share the same mother, we have half of our blood in common. You’re my brother, an unchangeable fact. I hope I can trust you completely.” Freya was trying hard to strengthen her relationship with Zane Stone.

And she hoped he wouldn’t disappoint her.

Zane bit his lip, lowering his gaze gently.

“I’ll find a solution. You don’t need to worry.” Freya assured him.

“Okay.” Zane responded.

Freya sat at her desk, knowing that Elijah must be behind this whole thing.

Was he trying to see her in distress?

Or did he want her to beg him to let go, to spare herself?

No, she wouldn’t.

Absolutely wouldn’t succumb to him.

Resting her chin on her hand, she pondered how to handle the situation. The batch of goods in her hands represented the company’s working capital, and looking at the time, it wasn’t too late yet. She dialed Ronan Vega’s number.

Ronan Vega was surprised to receive her call. “Didn’t expect you to contact me first. I was actually thinking of reaching out to you. Seems like we’re on the same wavelength.”

Freya wasn’t in the mood for small talk. “Did you tell Elijah about our marriage?”

“I personally delivered the wedding invitation. Why, did he bother you? Where are you now? I’ll come find you.”

“Don’t come over. He didn’t harass me. He just caused me some trouble. Did he bother you?” she asked.

Considering Elijah’s temperament, he wouldn’t have spared Ronan Vega either.

Ronan chuckled. “I’ve fallen into his hands too many times. This time, I’ve prepared thoroughly. He can’t touch me; he can only create obstacles in trivial matters, nothing important.”

He added, “Are you concerned about me?”

“I don’t have the mood to care about you. I’m just asking casually, that’s all.”

“What trouble did he bring you? Do you need my help?” Ronan Vega asked.

Freya declined, then hung up directly.

She had figured out a solution. So she called Zane.

“Hey, Zane, find a big internet celebrity. We’re not selling the goods in bulk, we’ll do it ourselves.”

Zane, still worried about the situation, instantly perked up at Freya’s suggestion. “Our bulk sales price isn’t high. Even if we give a cut to the internet celebrity, we won’t earn less than before. But with so much stock, when can we sell it all?”

“That’s why I want you to find a big internet celebrity. Livestreaming sales are so popular now; it won’t take long.” Freya made her point.

“Alright, I’ll contact someone right away.”

“Good.”

Freya hung up and didn’t leave the company. Instead, she found a few trustworthy people and secretly moved the goods out of the company.

Elijah wanted to suppress her, and if he found out she had celebrities promoting and selling the goods, he might exploit that too, given his wealth and influence.

Therefore, secrecy was crucial.

With everything in place, it was almost dawn. Freya returned home, intending to rest for a while. However, Ronan Vega’s makeup artist, whom he had called for, pressed her into a chair, saying she needed to do bridal makeup for her.

Exhausted, Freya sat in the chair, on the verge of falling asleep, eyelids heavy.

Zane poured her a cup of coffee and pulled a chair beside her. “Freya…”

“Zane, don’t ask anything. You have more important things to do now.” Freya looked at him. “I’m entrusting this matter to you completely. Just sign the contract if the terms are suitable. Do it discreetly, and tell the company that I’m still figuring things out.”

“Why hide it from everyone?” Zane didn’t understand why it needed to be kept a secret.

“To prevent anyone from sabotaging us further.” Freya said.

With her guidance, Zane understood. “You’re afraid that someone might harm us again if it’s known.”

“Now that you know, go and do it.”

“Freya.” Zane hesitated, gathering courage to speak. “Isn’t there any other way to save Kai? You don’t like Ronan Vega guy. Marrying him won’t make you happy.”

Freya looked at herself in the mirror, her expression distant for a moment. She pulled a faint smile. “Whether I’m happy or not doesn’t matter. I want Kai to be okay. Besides, even if I don’t marry him, I don’t want to be in a relationship with anyone. Right now, I just want to run the company well. Don’t worry about me. Go and do your thing, we can’t afford any delays now.”

“Okay.” Zane stood up and left.

Freya had someone bring her a cushion; she lazily leaned against it.

Elijah sat in a chair by the French windows, heavy curtains pulled halfway, letting the light shine on half of his face. On the other side of the room hung a portrait of Freya.

Freya’s company was in trouble, and he was the cause. He was waiting for Freya to come and plead with him. But she never came.

It was already 7:30 now. Today was Saturday.

Was she really going to marry Ronan Vega?

Elijah felt inexplicably annoyed. He suddenly stood up, disregarding his dignity, and decided to go find Freya himself.

He arrived at Freya’s villa and saw her already in a wedding dress, with people around her adjusting the hem of her gown. Her figure was graceful, the wedding dress fitting her perfectly, showcasing her charming curves vividly.

It had to be admitted; she looked beautiful in a wedding dress.

Elijah walked in, standing in the doorway against the light.

“I heard your company is in trouble. Did you neglect the business for the sake of getting married?”

Hearing the voice, Freya turned her head.

Elijah’s presence was quite unexpected for her.

A well-placed smile adorned her face, radiant and dazzling. “Ronan Vega is wealthy. Even if the company goes bankrupt, he can still afford to support me.”
