Millie called out, “Ms. Lowell.” All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
Winston turned slightly and caught a glimpse of Joanna at the entrance.
Joanna quietly observed the two of them. No wonder Winston suddenly wanted to go out. It turned out that he was accompanying Millie in the rain.
Joanna walked into the rain, catching Winston off guard. He frowned and tightened his grip on his umbrella, momentarily unsure of what to do.
Millie noticed his hesitation and brushed his umbrella aside. It was simply not feasible for a man to handle an umbrella for two women simultaneously. Even if it were possible, it would inevitably lead to one woman feeling neglected.
Joanna stood not far away, both she and Millie drenched in the rain. She wished to understand her place in Winston’s heart and whether Millie or her was more important to him.
Winston felt extremely conflicted.
“Win, you have to make a choice,” Joanna said faintly.
Millie turned to look at Winston after overhearing their conversation. Observing his serene demeanor, she calmly stated, “I’ve been excluded numerous times. I’m a person, not a mere commodity. Stop treating me as an option.”
While Joanna might not have been irritated, Millie was certainly feeling annoyed.
“Millie, are you scared?” Joanna asked.
Millie burst out laughing. “What should I be scared of? Afraid that he won’t pick me?”
She had never been selected before, so there was nothing to be afraid of.
Millie locked eyes with Joanna. “You’re the one who’s scared, aren’t you?”
Joanna clenched her fists. She admitted that she was truly terrified.
Winston’s recent abnormal behavior was deeply troubling her. It was evident that his affections were slowly shifting toward Millie. Was he even aware of this?
Winston stepped forward, his umbrella seemingly redundant in this instance. After a brief moment of hesitation, he exclaimed, “Enough, Joanna. I’ll take you back to the hospital”
“You have to make a choice now.” Joanna insisted.
Winston stared at Joanna, wondering why she had to create this unpleasant situation before she would be satisfied. He frowned, and his tone and expression revealed his anger. “Joanna!”
Millie stared at Winston, breathing heavily. In fact, Winston had a bad temper. He never tolerated anyone. challenging his bottom line.
However, in front of Joanna he presented a gentle façade. If Joanna continued to push him like this, it would only trigger his worst side.
As Joanna gazed into Winston’s eyes, a sense of unease washed over her. She consciously spoke in a
gentle tone, her fear of him growing inexplicably stronger. “Win…”
“Are you returning to the hospital?” he asked furiously.
Joanna could sense his anger building up. She bit her lip, slowly reaching for the umbrella in his hand, and whispered, “Win, I’ll listen to you. I’ll go now. Can you take me there?”
Winston looked indifferent. He immediately called Eli, who arrived quickly.
“Take Ms. Lowell to the hospital now. And make sure someone stays with her to ensure she doesn’t move around until she has fully recovered!” Winston commanded coldly.
Eli nodded without hesitation. “Yes, Mr. Greer,”
“Win, are you coming?” Joanna asked before getting in the car.
Winston handed the umbrella to Millie and pushed her toward the entrance. He glanced at her, ensuring she was shielded from the rain.
Then, he entered the hotel without a second thought. He realized that women could be quite troublesome sometimes.
Millie stumbled slightly and glanced at Winston. She felt uncertain about his thoughts.
Did he make a decision? Who did he choose?
