Winston silently retrieved his phone and called Eli. Without hesitation, Joanna grasped his hand. “Please, don’t.”

“You have a fever, go to the hospital. If anything happens to you, your family will be worried too.” Winston took the phone back and wanted to call Eli again.

Joanna asked immediately, “Are you so eager to chase me out?” Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

After a brief silence, he explained, “You’re running a fever, Joanna. You have to see a doctor

now. Do you understand?”

“I don’t. All I know is that I haven’t seen you all day, but it seems like you don’t want to see me at all. And now that we finally meet, you’re pushing me away!” Joanna cried while crouching.

Winston gazed down at Joanna and sighed, clearly feeling helpless.

“Why are you treating me like this? I only made a small mistake. I almost lost my life for you. Have I ever mentioned feeling aggrieved?” Joanna said, her voice muffled as she covered her face.

Winston became indifferent instantly. He was tired of Joanna bringing up the past every time they argued.

Without hesitation, he called Eli and instructed coldly, “Come to the villa and take Ms. Lowell to the hospital.”

Joanna stood up and angrily asked, “Winston, have you ever considered marrying me?”

Winston calmly glanced at her and reminded her, “You need to calm down.”

Afterward, he went upstairs.

Joanna gasped in disbelief and cried. “Win, why are you treating me like this? You were different before. You’ve changed!”

Winston paused in his tracks and gazed at the vacant corridor ahead. Suddenly, Millie’s figure inexplicably flashed in his mind.

With a heavy heart, he quickly returned to his bedroom. The bedroom looked even more empty, as if nobody had ever lived there.

Winston lay on the couch, feeling upset. He realized he was losing patience with Joanna.

In the past, he felt grateful and distressed when she talked about the past, but now he was just impatient. He felt like she was simply guilt–tripping him. He closed his eyes and sighed deeply.

Soon after, Eli arrived and took Joanna to the hospital.

Joanna was groggy the entire time

suffering from a high fever. She weakly called out, “Eli.”

Eli glanced back. “Ms. Lowell, how can I help?”

Joanna asked softly, “Where did Win go?”

“Ms. Lowell, Mr. Greer went out with Mr. Webson tonight. I’m not too sure,” answered Eli honestly.

Joanna lifted her heavy eyelids, clearly exhausted. She asked, “Eli, could you please inform me about Win’s future schedule?”

Eli smiled. “I’m sorry, Ms. Lowell. I don’t think I can.”

“I’ll be Win’s future wife. I demand to know his schedule. Why can’t I have it?” Joanna was

furious.

Eli smiled and remained silent.

Joanna angrily kicked the back of the car seat. “Eli, you’re nothing but his assistant! Who are you to deny my request?”

Eli suddenly fell silent.

Joanna was frustrated and started to cry. She felt like everyone was bullying her. She tried to call Winston but couldn’t reach him, and it left her feeling distressed.
