Chapter 1344
Listening to the man's words, James found himself absentmindedly spinning the ring on his finger, his eyes clouded with a mix of emotions.
"We've found it! We've found it!" Adler suddenly shouted, and everyone rushed over to where he was pointing. It was an old, rusty chain, and whatever lay beneath it gave off an unsettling vibe.
"I'll handle this!" Angelo jumped in, joining Adler as they both yanked at the chain with all their might. The chain seemed to grow larger as they pulled, and soon, the ground shifted to reveal a hole about three square meters wide. "What is this?" Sandy asked, pointing at the large hole in the ground. It looked like it hadn't been opened in ages, the air around it thick with a sense of history.
"Isn't it obvious? It's a tunnel," Jenna remarked. "Finding tunnels while digging through hills is nothing unusual, but what's the Aldridge family doing with one? They weren't planning on building a subway down here." "Let's go down and check it out," Sophie suggested.
"I'll go first." Colby offered, taking Sophie's hand.
Sophie nodded, and Colby pulled out a flashlight he'd brought along. Everyone followed him down the old staircase. As they descended, Sophie noticed the stairs flanking a ramp in the middle, with faint tire marks still visible. "What's bugging you, Sophie?" Jenna asked, noticing Sophie's furrowed brow.
"Oh, nothing." Sophie shook off her thoughts, and they all continued downward.
Not far off, a man watched them descend and handed his binoculars to Timothy. "Get the crew ready, we're heading down too."

Just as Sophie and her group reached the bottom, they navigated a long tunnel for about ten minutes until they stumbled upon a massive cavern. It was empty, stretching out for what seemed like hundreds of square meters.
"No way, it's empty!" Adler groaned, his legs feeling weak from the trek.
Sophie glanced at the outdated electric lights lining the tunnel walls. "This place must've been cleared out ages ago."
Angelo felt defeated. "But where's the treasure? There's absolutely nothing here!"
After all this effort, where was the loot?
"Colby! Where are your people?" Sophie suddenly had a worrying thought.
Before Colby could respond, a swarm of people burst into the cavern James casually tossed something onto the ground nearby, and suddenly, the entire space lit up.
Right behind them came a man in a sharp suit and mask. He surveyed the scene, and when he saw there was nothing of value, his expression turned icy.
"BOSS..." Timothy began, but before he could finish, the man smacked him across the face. "You idiot!"
More people rushed in, encircling James and his group in no time. The man locked eyes with James, who frowned back in confusion.
Colby's team was supposed to have blocked the outsiders, so how had this happened?
"Mr. Burke, long time no see."
From the throng, Odie and Jonah emerged, with Odie giving a cold, mocking grin. "I'm here to settle a score."
