Chapter 1343
"You don't need to understand everything, just find where the Heartstone is located."
Angelo scratched his head, looking puzzled. "What's the Heartstone?"
"In the lore of elements, the Heartstone stands for fire, symbolizing the heart in the human body," Sophie explained. "This spot is surrounded by mountains and water, a perfect feng shui setup. The mountain ahead represents Earth, and the winding river in the middle symbolizes Water."
Jenna crouched down, studying the map Sophie had sketched out. "So, judging by your diagram, the Heartstone should be right here, doesn't it?"
She pointed to the south.
Everyone turned to look southward, where a once formidable mountain range had somehow become a clear path.
Turns out, the Aldridge family's original mountain-moving efforts had landed right where the Heartstone should be.
"But that can't be right. It's just barren land here; there's nothing. Could it actually be... underground?" Sandy shivered at the thought.
The surface was already a mess; what could possibly be better underneath? No way was she going down there!
Colby paused for a moment, then said, "Let's go down and check it out."
"Easy for you to say! How exactly are we supposed to do that?" Adler was already feeling a chill down his spine from Sophie's explanation.
Now with Colby suggesting they go underground, Adler felt like he was being sent on a one-way trip!
Jenna chimed in, "I doubt the Aldridge family would've just left such a valuable treasure unguarded for us to stumble upon. They've probably checked it out already and found nothing."
Sophie had been quiet all this while. But now, it seemed their only option was to venture down and see for themselves.
As everyone moved forward, Jenna slowed her pace and fell in step beside Sophie.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
"Didn't you say you couldn't
remember much from your childhood, Sophie?" Jenna

whispered. "You seemed to recall things pretty clearly just now"
Sophie shook her head softly.
This whole trip feels strange, liknet "Maybe it's just muscle memory
on the brink of rememberingo something."
"You..."
I'm
set
Jenna hesitated, noticing Adler watching her. She finally said, "Don't overthink it. It's probably just lingering side effect of your illness."
Sophie shook her head gently. "I wasn't dwelling on it, Jenna. No need to worry about me."
Jenna looked at Sophie but chose to say nothing more.
Not far off, Timothy was using binoculars to peer ahead. "BOSS, they've gone in," he said to the person stepping out of the car.
The man took the binoculars from Timothy and scanned the area.
Sure enough, he spotted Sophie and the others making their way into the mountain.
"Didn't expect it to be here," he murmured, his voice low and gravelly.
Just then, a few cars rolled up in their direction. Claire and James stepped out, one after the other.
Claire approached the man. "Boss, should we head in now?"
"No," he replied. "We'll wait until the Russell girl figures out the exact spot. Then we make our move."
James added, "Colby brought backup, and Harold's crew is already there to keep them occupied."
"Good," the man sneered. "As soon as we lay eyes on the treasure today, I plan to take them all down in one swift blow."
