Chapter 1386 Kill Them

Chapter 1386 Kill Them

The face of the middle-aged man's shadow twisted in anger at Darren. How could he ignore his

request?

"Darren, stop this stubbornness. Hand them over to me and if you come across any trouble in the

future, depending on what sort of trouble it is, I will be there to help and solve your problems for you."

He was doing his best to communicate patiently.

"No chance of that happening," Darren announced defiantly. He would not budge.

"You! You don't know what you're doing. You're so incredibly reckless! If my real body is here, you'll be

smashed to a pool of flesh and blood!" roared the shadow of the middle-aged man.

"Even if that is so, I will just have to kill them before that happens."

Those words sent the shadow into a fury. Darren was too stubborn for his liking.

"You should consider the big picture first. Here's the truth. Someone has said that he wants these

people protected or he will stop supplying the life energy. When that happens, even Lord Starry Sword

and Lord Feng will be in danger. Do you understand now?"

He was left with no other option but to reveal the truth.

"Ha-ha," Darren sniggered. So there turned out to be a powerful being who wanted these six men

protected. It was no wonder he would send the shadow of this master who was at the top level of the

Superior God Realm, to carry that task out, no matter the cost.

These so called "powerful beings" weren't all that impressive people. Some of them were willing to put

other lives at risk to protect only a few bastards.

It seemed that there were many scum in the human race, from all walks of life.

"I will not let them go. They are staying with me," Darren reiterated. He then added, "But since you're

here, why don't you tell us the quickest way to get the inheritance. I will do my best to get everyone out

of danger as soon as possible. This is the best I can offer you."

"Why are you being so unreasonable? Argh!" The shadow was now overtaken with anger and had no

words left.

"You are wrong. You are the ones who are unreasonable," Darren said, holding his head high. "You

know exactly what sort of crimes these scumbags have committed. You would forget that, just because

someone threatens you and wants them protected? You would try every means possible to save them?

These villains?

Let me put it more bluntly for you; has that big shot asked you all to swear to join the fiend race? Have

you agreed just to avoid danger? If you do not comply, he will cut supply of the life energy, right?

I do not understand how, as the backbone of the human race, you could be persuaded so easily and

still stand there acting so righteous. I am ashamed of you, as you clearly feel nothing for it. With all that,

how could you then have the audacity to call me unreasonable?"

The shadow fell into a deep silence once Darren had finished his speech.

A while later, the shadow eventually sighed and said listlessly, "Forget it. This is beyond me. I cannot

get involved in this."

With that, the shadow retreated in a helpless, sulking stupor.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Darren released a sword intent and the six men's heads fell to the ground with a meaty thud.

He had killed them all.

A moment later, the space fluctuated again. This time, an old man with white hair appeared.

His aura was quite impressive, otherworldly in fact.

"Darren, my name is Morton. I'm here to ask you to spare my disciples' lives. I will compensate you for

your losses afterwards and order them to kneel for three years in apology to the talents who came to Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

such an untimely death. I am truly sorry,"

the white-haired old man said in a low, polite tone, cupping his hands in front of Darren in plea and

looking visibly distressed.

"It's too late." Darren moved aside and revealed several heads floating behind him.

The old man was stunned; his two beloved disciples were among those who had been killed.

He trembled and turned his gaze to Darren. There seemed to be a dark vortex of vengeance swirling in

his cloudy eye as if he was about to tear him apart.

"I guess since they're already dead, let's just forget it. They were out of line to have caused such

trouble. Now that they're dead, I do not have to think about it any longer.

Darren, seeing as you are so talented, I have decided to pass this map on to you. This is the most

perfect route to obtain the inheritance, a route discovered by all of us. I hope this will assist you in

successfully obtaining the inheritance so that the great masters of the human race may be protected

and out of harm's way as soon as possible,"

the old man said to Darren kindly, as if the death of his disciples had not even happened.

A map then flew over to land in Darren's hand, the old man disappearing the second it touched his

skin.

Everyone was at a loss for words for what they just witnessed.

They had all imagined that since Darren had killed the old man's disciples, he would be inconsolably

furious and would surely threaten Darren's life.

But to their surprise, not only was he calm, but he also gifted the map to him.

"Darren, it has to be a trap. That man must have this be part of his plan to kill you."

"That seems very possible. Darren, you should just tear the map up," suggested Beatty.

The rest of those present took their turns to persuade Darren to destroy the map.

"You're all wrong. This map can indeed help us obtain the inheritance," Darren objected.

"Darren, don't be so careless. The old man may have left very suddenly but we felt his terrible killing

intent before he did. I was so afraid that my heart almost jumped out of my chest. He will not let us go

easily," Sally responded.

Even a simple-minded girl like Sally could sense the difference and so Darren most definitely had felt

the killing intent.

"What they say makes sense. I too felt the killing intent. You'd better destroy the map," said Eallard.

Even he now tried to persuade Darren.

Darren turned around and said flatly, "It's true the old man wants to kill me and his killing intent is

stronger than you think. But this map is no trick. It is absolutely real."

"Why?" many people asked as one voice.

"It's quite simple. What we saw just now was just a shadow of the old man. If that old man wants to

exact his revenge for his disciples, he needs to stay alive himself, right? That would mean he'd have to

leave the relic as soon as possible. Before he has the chance to kill me in person, he won't want me to

die. What reason does he have to give me a fake map now?"

Darren believed that revenge would be meaningless if the old man did not carry it out himself. Thus he

concluded that the old man wanted him to retrieve the inheritance quickly and kill him when he exited

the relic!

"That makes sense as well," agreed Eallard. Everyone now thought that he was most likely right.

"Look at this map. There are more than ten different auras of rule cultivators. It seems to have quite

obviously been made by many powerful rule cultivators. How could it be fake?"

"You're right! That makes sense."

"You're really something, Darren. But there's more to think about. What if one of us really does get the

inheritance? That old man seems to be at the Deputy God Realm. My master and Lord Feng may not

be strong enough to provide you with protection," Sally said worriedly.

"That old man is indeed a deputy god. He is on the same level as my master. But don't worry, for if he

dares to hurt you, I will ask my master to rain punishment down upon him. And if my master dares not

take action, I will kill myself in front of him. Humph, he will never watch me die right before his eyes,

and then he will be forced to act," Weber said seriously.

"That's right! There is nothing to be afraid of. He is a deputy god, but our masters are all powerful

beings. The masters of those young talents who have been killed are not ordinary people. I believe

they will uphold justice for Darren and the rest of us," said someone.

"That's right. That old man has only grasped some useful methods at this difficult moment. Once the

great masters are freed from danger, do you think they'd still let him act so recklessly?"

After much debate and conversation, everyone had come to the conclusion that they needed not to be

afraid of the old man. The masters behind them were not weak!

"Alright, let's do all we can to obtain the inheritance then." Darren nodded slightly, but then he added,

"Hmm, the next challenge is marked on the map with a star. What could that mean?"
