Hannah sighed the moment she saw him, wondering what he was doing at her office.

How did he even know my office?, of course, I’m the COO everyone knows my office, she thought as she walked in fully.

“What are you doing here, Lucas?” she asked as she stood in front of him, watching him clean the blood off his nose with a handkerchief in his hands.

Brandon had hit him so hard, Hannah thought.

“I wanted to apologize for earlier on, for touching your hands and uhm for stalking you all this while. I’m sorry” he said with a guilty look on his face.

Hannah immediately felt pity for him.

She sighed and nodded. She moved towards her desk, took the first aid box, and decided to help Lucas clean his injury so it wouldn’t get infected.

She cleaned the blood and after she was done, she dumped the cotton wool in the dustbin, she turned to Lucas standing hands akimbo.

“Lucas, I know you are angry and you must hate your brother, I just wanted to let you know Brandon didn’t know the machine was faulty before he signed it. He didn’t try to kill you” Hannah said and Lucas sighed.

“I know he didn’t,” he said and Hannah raised her eyebrows.

“You know? if you know then why are the both of you always at each other’s throat?” Hannah asked, looking confused.

She knows Brandon said she shouldn’t talk to Lucas but she needed to know what had happened between the both of them.

“Doesn’t it always come to the love of a woman?” Lucas asked with a smile on his face.

“Woman? What woman?” she asked looking pretty confused.

“Your eyes sparkle when you look confused,” Lucas said and Hannah frowned.

“Why don’t you ask your husband about his Ex, and his missing daughter, Mellisa, and the mother of Mellisa,” Lucas said as he managed to stand up.

Hannah kept staring at him and then she finally spoke.

“See, I’m sorry that… you and Brandon have this thing between you, but I can’t get in the middle of it, Lucas. I just… I hope you two can work it out” Hannah said and Lucas smiled and nodded in response.

“I hope so too” he replied with a smile on his face and with that he walked out of the office leaving Hannah alone.

Hannah sighed and walked to her chair then sat on it.

Just then she heard her phone ring, it was a call from the client they were supposed to meet. It was his PA calling.

“Hey I’m sorry but I think we should reschedule the meeting to another day, something came up and we won’t be able to make it, my apologies, ” Hannah said

“Sure, Thank you,” The PA said over the phone and hung up immediately.

Hannah sighed.

It was evening and Hannah had wanted to go pick up the kids.

She entered her car and zoomed off, when she got to the kid’s school, she didn’t meet the kids there and the teacher had said their father had come to pick them up not quite long.

She sighed and brought out her phone to call Brandon. She was looking furious.

He should at least tell me whenever he wants to go pick up my kids from school so she would know, she thought as she dialed his number, and to her surprise, his phone was switched off.

She was surely gonna kill him when she laid eyes on him, she thought as she angrily hopped in her car, zoomed off, and went home.

Lucas, who had left the company earlier, is seen in the sitting room, going through his phone when the front door opens revealing Matthew.

He raised his head and saw Matthew walk in, he had seen him yesterday close to Jessica. he wondered who he was.

All this while he’s been stalking just Hannah and didn’t pay attention to what was going on in Jessica’s life.

“Who are you?” Lucas asked and Matthew paused and turned to him.

“Hey, Brother-in-law,” Matthew says, and Lucas raises his eyebrows.

Brother-in-law? He had only one sister and that was Jessica, so when did Jessica get married? He had missed a lot, he thought.

“Matthew you are back,” Jessica, who was seen climbing down the stairs, said with a smile on her face as she moved towards Matthew and kissed him.

Lucas hummed and they both turned to look at him.

“I thought the both of you were married, why is there no ring on his finger,” Lucas said and rolled her eyes.

“Mind your Business, Lucas,” she said and Lucas scoffed.

“I forgot my ring in my bedroom,” Matthew said and Lucas rolled his eyes for the second time.

“I hope he’s your husband and not some gigolo, he looks poor to me. Do you even know about his background? I can help you run a check if you want” Lucas said and Matthew smiled.

“I don’t know what else to say to you but stay the fuck away from me and my husband, ” Jessica said and held Matthews’s hands as they both walked outside the house.

The moment they walked outside the house, Hannah’s car drove inside the compound.

She alighted the car and walked towards Matthew and Jessica wondering what they were doing outside the house.

“Are you okay?” Hannah asked as she noticed the looks on her face.

“I hate Lucas so much, I wish he would go back to where he came from so everywhere could be peaceful again,” Jessica said Hannah was about to speak when a black car drove inside the compound, it was Brandon’s car.

She sighed the moment the kids and Brandon alighted the car, they were all holding a plate of ice cream each in their hands.

“Mommy” the kids called and rushed towards her and hugged her.

“Sweethearts, where did y’all go?” Hannah asked.

“Daddy took us to play in the park and also bought us ice cream. Daddy bought it for you too, it’s with him” Jayden said Hannah raised her head and stared at Brandon who was holding a pack that contained ice cream in his hands.

“Okay sweethearts, let’s go inside,” Hannah said and the kids nodded and entered the house and Hannah walked towards Brandon.

“Do not dare take the kids away again without my permission ” she said with a frown on her face as she walked inside the house.

The moment Hannah walked inside the house, she met Lucas and the kids talking and they were laughing.

She was surprised because she knew her kids so much that they hardly got along with anyone but it was different with Lucas.
