Chapter 260 Set Up A Trap
Chapter 260 Set Up A Trap
"I know it." Zack said while nodding his head sternly.
Zack realized the graveness of the matter after hearing to Zed. Previously, he hadn't known the issue
was so serious.
There was a villain secretly sowing discord to break up this lovely couple. People could be very wicked
and they didn't want anyone to be happy. Especially married couples, who had already suffered from so
much troubles, had to face these people.
"Be careful, after all you are their prey. Mainly, they are trying to affect you, so whatever you do, do it
cautiously. " Before saying his farewells, Zack warned Zed repeatedly. He didn't want Zed to be hurt in
any way. He was concerned about his well-being.
Zed nodded solemnly and started the ignition of the car to drove towards his company.
'If I am not going to appoint Toby for Jean's protection, there is a possibility that enemy's plot would
succeed?'
At this thought, it felt as if a knot was present in his stomach. Zed was tensed and concerned about
Jean. He wanted to do everything possible that was within his reach to protect her.
How cunning the enemy was!
They planned to set them up and attempted to alienate the love present between the couple.
Then they set up a trap to make Jean witness the adultery mime that Zed had slept with Jesse, making
her believe that Zed had betrayed her.
Everything was so well designed. It felt like a perfectly planned chess game.
Even Zed was admiring that it was a complex trap with a lot of efforts put into it..
Zed nearly fell in to the trap, but it was by God's grace that he barely made it to the other side.
'How can I let you win so easily? You have started a tussle with me. You have to pay for what you have
planned.'
Zed smiled by himself and immediately he calmed himself down, as now he had a clear understanding
of the whole situation and how to deal with it. And now he was going to turn the table on his enemy.
At that moment, the mobile phone started ringing and Zed became nervous on noticing that it was a
call from Toby.
Zed was worried that something may have happened to Jean.
When Jean came out from her coma, she was stunned to find that she had woken up in a white world.
Everything was white, all walls of the room were white, bed sheets and pillows were white and even the
quilt was also white.
She was in the hospital.
As soon as her last moments before fainting flashed in her eyes, Jean hurried to get up from her bed.
"Jean, you are awake." Maranda was happy to find that Jean was awake. She walked towards the bed
with a basket of fruits in her hands.
"You..." Jean looked at Maranda in confusion, asking her feebly, "Why are you here? Why am I here?"
Last, Jean remembered that on the street someone had called her name, but she fainted without even
seeing clearly who had called her. And now, she was not able to recall any further which was causing
her a great deal of confusion.
She passed out on the road...
Jean frowned with a bitter smile on her face.
'Am I so weak that I have to be in this kind of situation?
I should have reached to an extreme. That's why I fainted.'
"Jean..." Maranda was sullen and uneasy on seeing Jean's physical condition but with a forced smile,
she asked, "You don't remember anything? All the things that happened? I am so sorry! It's all my fault!
I didn't mean to do you any harm."
Jean frowned her brow more deeply, looking at Maranda and said, "Don't blame yourself. It's not your
fault. But how can I be in the hospital? I was just feeling dizzy. It was not necessary for you guys to
send me to the hospital. I would have stayed fine."
Jean said while looking at Maranda, feeling a little bit powerless. She never expected that in her life
she would ever be this weak that she would have to get hospitalized.
"It is not necessary. But how could you come to work in this condition even after getting fainted? You
don't care about yourself at all. You are not even worried that what more could happen if you don't pay
attention to yourself. Just think, if John wouldn't have seen you lying there on the street, criminals
would have caught you. And apart from that, what more would have happened? You could have lost
your life.
Maranda blamed her for not realizing her carelessness towards her health.
"Work? John?" Jean frowned in puzzle. She was just walking without any aim on the street after
coming out from her company. But why was she walking there?
"Oh! John has gone to fetch medicine for you. He will come back soon. Don't worry. You just relax and
take some rest." Maranda answered while consoling Jean to try exempting her from all the exertions.
"Medicine? Maranda, you must have misunderstood it. I just passed out. There is nothing wrong with
me." Jean smirked peevishly at Maranda with her eyes wide open trying to make her understand.
Actually, Jean was herself in disbelief. She was not able to picture herself to be so weak.
"Doctor said you are weak and have suffered from a lot of pressure. If you are not going to have a
proper rest, it would do more damage to you. Your condition is caused mainly by mental tension and
stress. So your body and your brain need proper amount of rest from everything. Just try to be happy
and relax." Maranda took Jean's hand into her own and solemnly said, "Jean, remember that no matter
what happens, please take care of yourself. Your health should be your priority and give everything
else a rest."
"I didn't..." Jean wanted to explain the issues that she was facing to Maranda, but she noticed that John
had just entered the room, so she stopped herself from saying anything further.
"What did you say?" John doubted in a low-pitch voice. Glancing first at Maranda and then at Jean, he
asked with concern on his face, "Are you feeling better now?"
"I am fine." Jean answered sharply to John.
"Jean, you don't know that how much you has freaked me out. You were so pale like a ghost, lying
there unconscious, and do you know you have severe anemia. Thank God, that I found you there and
bought you here in time. The doctor have advised hospitalization for you. They want you to stay here
as long as you fully recover." John was feeling uneasy after hearing her reply that she was fine. So, he
warned her repeatedly for taking good care of her health and staying there in the hospital as long as
she needed for recovery..
"That is not necessary! Why are you so worried?" Jean asked John while looking at him with her brows
raised.
"It is very necessary for you to take a rest. You are too fragile to go back to work immediately after
getting discharge from the hospital. What if you are all alone and you pass out again? What will happen
then? Tell me. So, you need to stay in the hospital for the whole week for getting full recovery. It's
necessary for you, " John replied in a grave tone. John admonished her with a serious tone. He was
worried that Jean would not take him seriously and would get herself discharged as soon as they move
out from there.
"John, are you making so much money that you have to waste it in the hospital? Keep it safe. Don't pull
me down! I am feeling fine and there is no need for me to stay in the hospital for a whole week. And I
am not crazy."
Jean got angry and her ears started to turn red and with a deep look on her face she stared at John
irritatingly.
"I support John on this matter. Whatever he is saying is correct." Maranda took John's side without any
doubt. And after saying that she folded her hands together indicating that what they said was definite
and Jean should listen to them.
"Maranda, you..." Jean got angry. But in her heart, she knew that they cared about her and they only
wanted her health to improve. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
So her only option was to just ignore them. So Jean stayed silent without saying one more word.
John and Maranda looked at each other and then both of them smiled lightly.
'Jean is angry, because her face is all red.
But the decision is not negotiable even if she is angry and disappointed.
The whole matter was arranged by Zed. John and I just help Zed to persuade her. So no matter how
hard she tries, she has to accept the decision of staying in hospital for a whole week.
But...
Jean is too stubborn enough to convince.'
Maranda sighed secretly in her heart, while holding Jean's hand and shaking it for several times. "Jean,
we are only doing this for you. If you consider us as your friend, please take care of yourself. And
Please, just stay in the hospital, will you?"
Maranda said this with an ingratiating smile. Jean's anger subsided quickly. She sighed and looked at
them. "I don't know why are you so tense. I just fainted. It happens to a lot of people."
"Because you are weak. How about taking this time to have a good rest and to improve your physical
condition?" Maranda grinned and explained.
"I am not a kid anymore! Nobody can be fooled by such tricks. I know I am in good condition. I am
healthy." Jean answered discontentedly.
If you are healthy, why didn't you get pregnant since you have been married for years?" John suddenly
said to Jean in a questioning tone.
"John..." Maranda's face darkened and she gave a serious and angry look to stop him.
Jean was surprised by John's words. She was not expecting him to be this bold. But before she even
knew what was happening she heard Maranda's yelling and saw her serious look. Jean looked at them
questioningly. "What do you mean?"
