Alpha King’s pregnant Ex-Luna

The night was slowly descending upon them, the darkness sweeping in like an ominous shroud. Tony and Thalia, their eyes fixed on the live footage from Nelly’s surveillance cameras, sat tense in a parked car just outside the hospital.

Thalia let out a tired yawn, her exhaustion evident. “With Alpha Kilian here, your mom will be safe,” she murmured, her gaze shifting to Tony. “But maybe I should send you home. It’s not good for a young one like you to stay up so late.”

Tony shook his head resolutely, his eyes glued to the computer screen. “No need. I have a lingering feeling deep in my gut that something’s not right. I can’t shake the sensation that danger is looming.” He glanced at Thalia. “I’ll just catch some sleep in the car if I get too tired.”

“Tonight?” Thalia raised an eyebrow skeptically. “Are you sure?”

“I can’t explain it, but my instincts are telling me to stay alert,” Tony replied, his voice laced with concern.

Thalia narrowed her eyes, contemplating his words, before finally nodding. “Alright, if you say so. We’ll keep watching then. I’m curious to see who’s been wasting our time these past few days. If I lay my hands on them, they’ll regret it.”

Tony simply stared at her, his worry evident.

“What?” Thalia asked, perplexed. “Is there something on my face?” She reached for the mirror to check her reflection.

“I can only see my own good looks,” she murmured, her face twisting playfully.

Tony shook his head, his concern deepening.

“What are you looking at?” Thalia questioned, her curiosity piqued.

“Nothing. I’m just worried about you,” Tony admitted.

Thalia’s confusion morphed into surprise. “Worried? Worried about what?”

“I’m worried that whoever ends up marrying you in the future will have to deal with a daily headache,” Tony confessed.

Thalia was momentarily speechless, her mind grappling to form a response.

She looked at Tony, her initial intention to retort fading away. With a smile, she said, “Oh? Are you worried for yourself?”

“Why would I be worried about myself?” Tony retorted.

Thalia narrowed her eyes, leaning closer to him. “Maybe you already have feelings for me, and that’s why you conjured up such a random thought. It’s alright! I’m only a decade or so older than you. I’ll wait patiently, and once you marry me, you can experience firsthand whether I’ll give you headaches or not!”

A smirk graced Tony’s lips. “My apologies.”

“Don’t pretend, Tony! We know the truth now,” Thalia playfully scolded. “From now on, don’t gaze at other girls. No dating either. I’ll be keeping a close eye on you.”Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

In that moment, Tony realized the true meaning of ‘digging your own grave.’

As the night grew darker, Alpha Kilian strode inside from the outside, his gaze fixed on Nelly. “Grandpa and the kids went home after a whole day out. They might visit tomorrow morning.”

Nelly nodded, her mind elsewhere. “Okay.”

She rose from the bed and started making her way outside, prompting Alpha Kilian to furrow his brow. “Where are you going?”

“I’m bored. Just need to take a walk,” Nelly replied casually, her attention focused elsewhere.

Alpha Kilian trailed closely behind her, without uttering another word.

She could feel him shadowing her, causing her to turn and meet his gaze. “Alpha Kilian, I’m a law-abiding citizen. Don’t treat me like a prisoner.”

“Do you think a prisoner would receive such luxurious treatment?” Alpha Kilian challenged.

She furrowed her brow, deciding it wasn’t worth the argument. She continued walking, with him silently tailing her.

The hospital was eerily quiet at this hour, especially in the VIP area where Nelly and the others resided. The majority of the activity occurred downstairs, where patients engaged in exercises and medical staff bustled about.

Nelly walked toward the staircase, stealing a glance at the moon hanging high in the night sky through a nearby window. Alpha Kilian followed her gaze, captivated by her presence.

There was something on her mind, he could sense it. Something troubling her even more than usual.

“Alpha Kilian,” she called out, breaking his reverie.

He turned his attention back to her, curiosity dancing in his eyes. “What is it?”

“If I don’t make it through this… My grandfather…” Nelly’s voice trailed off, haunted by her own thoughts. Who am I to burden Alpha Kilian with my family affairs? We’re not even related.

After a few seconds of silence, she found her voice again. “Please take Alpha King Larry to visit my grandpa more often. Keep an eye on his health for me. He only dislikes you because of me. In fact, he used to speak highly of you.” Her words flowed with a striking simplicity.

Alpha Kilian felt a pang in his chest, the weight of her words sinking in. Why did Nelly sound as if she were bidding him farewell?

Only after a prolonged silence did he respond, his voice steady. “You’ll be fine.”

A small smile played on Nelly’s lips as she looked at him. “I hope you don’t hold any grudges against my grandpa because of me.”

“Of course not. No matter how he treats me, he’ll always be the Old Mr. Jackson who treated me well as a child,” Alpha Kilian reassured her, his gaze filled with unwavering loyalty.

Relieved, Nelly nodded.

“Do you know something I don’t?” Alpha Kilian questioned, his eyes narrowing.

“Isn’t this feeling primarily caused by the fear of not knowing anything at all?” Nelly countered, a glimmer of anxiety flickering in her eyes.

Ever since her car had malfunctioned, a sense of panic had gripped her. She didn’t want to repeat the sudden departure of her parents. And she dreaded the thought of a sudden accident taking her away too soon. It wasn’t death itself that frightened her, but rather the pain it would inflict on those left behind.

The Morris family would take care of the kids, but what about her beloved grandpa?

She couldn’t bear to see him weep over her lifeless body.

Nelly’s gaze turned somber, her eyes welling with tears. She turned away, longing to shield Alpha Kilian from her vulnerability. But before she knew it, he stood directly in front of her, gently wiping away any pretense of strength.

“Listen, Nelly. Nothing will happen to you, you hear me? Nothing!” Alpha Kilian vowed, his voice resolute as he stared intently into her eyes.

Nelly regarded him with a hint of a smile. “Alpha Kilian, do you know how many people are around us? You don’t want me accusing you of sexual harassment, do you?”

A stunned silence hung between them. It was the first time she had ever graced him with a genuine smile.

For a brief moment, Alpha Kilian was lost, caught off guard by her captivating smile.

“Do it then,” he finally responded, a hint of tenderness in his voice.

Nelly knew such a threat would fall on deaf ears when it came to Alpha Kilian.

She fell silent once more, before mustering the courage to make one final request. “Alpha Kilian, can you do me a favor?”

“Just say the word,” he replied, unwavering.

“I have a craving for something sweet,” Nelly admitted. “There’s a dessert place nearby. Could you help me get some?”

Without hesitation, Alpha Kilian nodded. “What flavor?”

“Anything, as long as it’s incredibly sweet,” she answered.

With determination in his eyes, he echoed her sentiment. “Alright.”

“I’ll be waiting for you here,” Nelly said softly.

Alpha Kilian stared at her delicate face, her porcelain skin mirroring the young woman she once was. In that moment, he didn’t know how to react.

It took him a few heartbeats to shake off his confusion. “Alright then. Wait here,” he replied before walking away.

But he couldn’t resist the pull, turning back for one last look.

“What is it?” Nelly inquired.

He glanced at the people surrounding her, his expression suddenly serious. “Don’t go anywhere, alright? I’ll be back in no time.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll be right here, patiently awaiting your return,” Nelly assured him, her smile replaced by a solemn resolve.

Alpha Kilian worriedly watched her from afar before finally leaving after a moment of hesitation.

Nelly’s gaze followed him until he vanished from sight. With a heavy heart, she made her way back to her room, her smile dissipating into the night.
