You, Me And Our Genus Twins

Chapter 333

Chapter 333

Angie collapsed to the ground and wept loudly as the officers drove away after giving her some solid advice.

She did not have a family to return to.

Whether it was her adoptive parents or her biological father, they didn't care about her anymore.

She didn't have friends who could lend her a place either.

All she had was superficial friendships. When they saw her at her lowest, they all mocked and laughed at her; none of them were willing to help her sincerely.

Her only choice was to live in a hotel.

Although she hadn't coaxed Jeffrey to transfer some real estate to her, she did receive money from him. As a result, she could still temporarily afford to live in a hotel.

But what about the future?

Although the amount Jeffrey provided her as her pocket money appeared enormous, it was impossible to purchase a house.

Despite being the young lady of the Wendel Family, she didn't even possess a house and could only go to a hotel!

How did she end up like this?

Why were Michael and Crystal so merciless?

They had been family for so long. How could they treat her so cruelly?

She wouldn't hate them as much as she did now if they had offered her some additional possessions when she left the Wendel Family.

Despite the fact that they had a net worth of over 100 million, they refused to give her even a single penny and allowed her to live in a condition where she was better off dead.

They are too callous and heartless. They were no better than beasts!

Nothing would change no matter how harshly she hurled insults at the Wendel Family, Sebastian, and Madeline in her heart.

She had no choice but to pack her luggage, book a cab, and find a hotel as a temporary place to stay.

Two days later, the police finally released Jeffrey after he endured the 48-hour ordeal.

He immediately rushed home, attempting to transfer as much cash as possible to his international accounts. He also moved his old jewels, paintings, and calligraphy collection to a secret bank safe that no one knew about.

Jeffrey initially resisted having all the assets under his name to be transferred to anyone because he believed that even if he were sentenced, he would be able to leave prison in a couple of years.

As long as he had money when he was released, he would be able to live comfortably for the rest of his life.

For this reason, he had to keep a firm grip on the cash. He could only carry on living a comfortable life if he had enough funds after being freed from prison.

He performed all the calculations, but his lawyer unexpectedly got in touch with him and informed him that Angie wanted to get a divorce and divide his assets. She insisted that she was his wife and was welcome to reside in any of his residences even after his son chased her out of the garden.

Jeffrey immediately lost it.

He ended up like this was all because of her. First, she brought misfortune to him, destroyed him, and now she wanted to have a slice of his fortune?

He was furious and informed his lawyer that since he and Angie had signed a prenuptial property agreement, she was ineligible to receive any of his assets.

Unfortunately, the lawyer said that in accordance with the prenuptial agreement that they signed, part of the possessions which grew in value after their marriage belonged to her, so she was entitled to reside in any property under his name as long as she was still his wife.

How could he allow her to reside in the home registered in his name when he wanted her to die?

In order to prevent Angie from continuing to reside in his house, he agreed to sign an agreement transferring all real estate and assets under his name to his son.

Then, he requested legal assistance in drafting a divorce agreement so that he could divorce her as soon as possible.

The Hart Family targeted Jeffery because of her. Maybe the Hart Family would leave him alone if they got divorced.

His lawyer later found Angie, but she firmly refused to agree to the divorce unless she was given 10 million in cash, a shop, and a villa.

The Hart Family loathed her. Would he not be acting against them if he had the audacity to offer her such wealth? Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

He would suffer more if he went against them!

But Angie would refuse to divorce him if he disagreed with her request.

He had to file for divorce if she wouldn't sign the divorce agreement.

It would take at least six months for the divorce to happen if he had to file for one. But, of course, by then, it would be too late.

He knew he couldn't wait that long, so he wished upon the moon and stars for this day. The first was to conceal his assets, and the second was to track down Angie and coerce her into divorcing him.

He had everything planned out, but his son entered the home as soon as he did.

"Dad, Mom woke up. She said she wanted to see you," his son stated as he stepped in front of him and cast a chilly glance in his father's direction as if he was just a stranger.

He performed all the calculations, but his lawyer unexpectedly got in touch with him and informed him that Angie wanted to get a divorce and divide his assets. She insisted that she was his wife and was welcome to reside in any of his residences even after his son chased her out of the garden.

"What did you say? Your mother is awake?” Jeffrey shuddered.

Yes," said Billy. "The operation went well. My mom woke up this morning. She wants to meet you."

His vision went black, and a strong sense of dizziness hit him. His ex-wife actually woke up?

He was doomed!

No.

This couldn't be.

He had been in a relationship with his ex-wife for a very long time, and she even bore him a son and daughter. She wouldn't want her kids to have a father who was imprisoned. He would be fine if he requested her not to disclose the truth and acknowledge that she fell down the stairs accidentally!

These thoughts buoyed Jeffrey's spirits. "It's wonderful that your mother is awake! Let's hurry and see

her right away!"

He left for the hospital immediately. When Billy looked at his departing silhouette, a scornful smile slowly crept across Billy's face.

Jeffrey quickly rushed to the hospital and met his ex-wife, Charlotte.

Although she appeared haggard and weak as she lay on the hospital bed, Charlotte was indeed awake, and her frigid stare immediately rested upon his face when she saw him enter.

"Charlotte, how are you doing? I was so worried about you!" He ran over, squatted next to the hospital bed, and clutched Charlotte's hand with a delighted expression. "You don't know how worried I was when you were in a coma, but thankfully, you've finally awakened!

"Really? I thought you wished me dead." Her words were a little labored and vague, but it was still audible if he paid closer attention.

"What are you talking about? You are still the biological mother of our son and daughter, even if we are divorced. Of course, I'm hoping for your quick recovery to save our son and daughter any misery." Then, as he feared that he might say something incriminating before an audience, he turned around and instructed Billy, who was entering the room behind him, "Bill, leave. I want to talk to your mother alone."

"Okay." Billy urged the nurses and physicians in the ward to go with him as he flashed a mocking smile that was nearly imperceptible.

After some shuffling of the staff, only Jeffrey and Charlotte were left in the ward. Thud. Suddenly,

Jeffrey, initially squatting next to the bed and holding Charlotte's hand, dropped to the floor into a kneeling posture.
