Chapter 328 Who Are You?
The voice sounded familiar. Ronan turned stiffly. And then he saw a man standing not far away from him.
“If you ask me, someone like you, who always speaks ill of others behind their backs, intentionally slandering and defaming them, is the real petty person, right? Mr Silverton may have a bad temper, but he’s definitely more of a man than you!” Evan was about to handle the tasks assigned by Elijah when he heard Ronan’s string of evaluations that completely shattered his perception.
“Ronan, as a grown man, how can you behave like a gossiping woman? Do you know why you’re not as successful as Mr Silverton in your career?” Evan asked, almost instinctively.
“Why?” Ronan asked, immediately regretting his question.
Wasn’t he admitting that he was not as good as Elijah? Just as he was about to retort, Evan spoke up, “Because you’re despicable, incompetent, shameless, and cunning. You also have shifty eyes and ignorance.”
Ronan was gasping for breath out of anger, unable to find the right words to argue. “Evan, have you lost your mind?”
“I’m just returning the favor, whether or not I’ve lost my mind, that’s for you to figure out,” Evan snorted coldly. “I don’t have time to waste with idle people like you.” With that, he walked away with large strides.

Then Ronan realized that he’d forget to hang up the phone.
Did Freya hear everything?
What should he do?!
At this moment, Ronan felt like banging his head against a wall. He slowly picked up his phone, and the screen showed that the call was still ongoing. In other words, Freya had heard his entire conversation with Evan. That was a complete image disaster! He appeared so lacking in grace and he wanted to slap himself. Why did he have to call Freya at Elijah’s company doorstep and get caught by that lackey Evan?
Ronan adjusted his tone and put the phone back to his ear. “Freya, um… You probably didn’t hear anything from this end, right?”
Freya heard everything clearly and chuckled. “I heard every single word. Evan insulted you, and it seemed like he was even better at it than you insulting Elijah.”
“… You couldn’t just lie to me? Now I feel so embarrassed.” Ronan said, walking to the side of the road to catch a cab.
Playing along, Freya said, “Okay, I didn’t hear anything.”
“Forget it, it would have been better if you didn’t say that,” Ronan changed the subject. “On a serious note, Elijah doesn’t plan to get involved, so I’ll figure something out. Don’t worry, I’ll go back to Stratos City to see my mom, and then I’ll come right back…”
Freya distanced herself, “You don’t need to tell me anything. I’m going to sleep, so I’ll hang up now.”
Only then did Ronan realize the time difference between their locations and said, “I won’t disturb your rest then.”
…
Freya put down her phone but couldn’t fall asleep. She got up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window. Feeling a bit chilly, she draped a thin blanket over herself. Suddenly, the baby in her belly moved, and she lowered her head, gently touching it with a smile on her lips. “You little troublemaker.”
She wondered if it was a boy or a girl, so lively and active. She hoped it was a daughter. He said he liked daughters.
The phone suddenly vibrated. Freya turned around and picked it up, seeing a message on the screen, a glimmer of light in her eyes. She walked over to the computer, hesitated for a moment, and then clicked on her email. She anonymously sent what she had received to Evan’s inbox. She thought that by remaining anonymous, she wouldn’t be discovered. However, she underestimated Evan’s capabilities.
Evan was a very thorough person, especially when it came to receiving such inexplicable things. He wouldn’t let it go.
Just as Freya sent the message, she received an email in response, [Who are you?!]
