You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 291 Empty Promises

Without a word, they immediately searched Freya.

Freya dodged, “What are you doing?”

The two big men stared at Freya, intrigued by her beauty, “We’re just checking if you have any tracking devices on you.”

Freya quickly shook her head, “No, I don’t.”

“Words mean nothing. We have to search you to believe it.” The two men clearly had ulterior motives, using the excuse of searching her to take advantage of her.

Backing away, Freya insisted, “I told you, there’s no tracking device on me…”

“It’s better if you listen obediently. It’s for the sake of your child and your mother’s safety.” Another male voice chimed in.

Following the voice, Freya looked over and saw Thorne Silverton sitting in a silver car, the window rolled down, watching her like it was a show. Freya clenched her fists. She was furious at Thorne’s threats, but she had to maintain a calm facade.

“I can assure you that there are no tracking devices on me. And besides, no matter what, I am your cousin’s wife. Isn’t it disrespectful to have these two men search me? It doesn’t do any good for your reputation. Will these two men go around telling people that they’ve searched Thorne’s cousin-in-law?” Freya challenged.

Thorne’s expression flickered for a moment. “You are Elijah’s wife, and it’s embarrassing for him, not me.”

“I am also a part of the Silverton family, and you bear the Silverton name. It’s hard to argue that there’s no connection, isn’t it?” Freya retorted.

“Come here,” Thorne beckoned.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

Freya hesitated for a moment, then took a step forward. She had no choice but to follow Thorne’s orders. She walked towards the car. Thorne looked her up and down. Then he casually remarked, “You’re quite attractive. No wonder Elijah is so fond of you.”

“Get in,” he said.

Freya hesitated, “Where are you taking me?”

Thorne laughed, “You don’t think it’s over, do you? I’ve spent so much time, made careful plans, all for this day. There’s no way I would let you go easily.”

“I understand. I’ll listen to you and go with you, but what about my child and my mother…” Freya’s voice trailed off.

“Get in first, don’t rush. Haste makes waste.” Thorne smirked.

Freya sensed his malice. Her face darkened. But for the sake of her child and mother, she had to compromise. She opened the car door and got in.

Thorne said, “You don’t have a tracking device on you, but your phone should have GPS, right?”

He reached out his hand, “Give me your phone.”

Freya said, “I don’t have…”

“Do you want me to personally search you? I wouldn’t mind, but I’m afraid I might accidentally touch something I shouldn’t, and then you can’t blame me for taking advantage of you…” Thorne threatened.

“Here.” Freya took out her phone and handed it to him. She knew that even if she didn’t give it to him, Thorne would use force or humiliation to make her hand it over. She had no choice. Instead of being humiliated, it was better to take the initiative.

Thorne took the phone, without throwing it away or destroying it. He opened it and saw that the GPS was on, not surprised at all. It seemed like he had expected it. He handed it to one of the two men, saying, “Take this phone and head south.”

The man took the phone and replied, “Yes.” Then he walked away with the phone in hand.

Thorne turned to look at Freya, “Do you think the person in charge of tracking will follow the GPS and keep heading south?”

All Freya could do was pray in her heart that Evan would sense something was wrong.

Thorne laughed, “Indeed, as long as Elijah is not here, everything goes smoothly. My patience, my endurance, it’s all worth it.”

He deliberately waited until Elijah was absent to make his move. Sure enough, without Elijah, everything became easier. Elijah’s subordinates were capable, but without him, they were nothing special.

“Drive,” he commanded.

“I am already in your hands, and I won’t escape. Can you release my child and my mother now?” asked Freya.

“Did I say I would let them go?” Thorne retorted.

Freya was furious, “Are you going back on your word?!”

“Even if I do, what can you do about it now?” Thorne smirked smugly.

Freya fixed her gaze on his temple, clenched her fist, and swiftly attacked. Her movements were so fast that Thorne didn’t have time to react.

“Hey…”

He felt something pressing against his skin.
