Chapter 289 Do Not Harm Them
“Mr Silverton sent me here,” Evan said.
Freya asked, “And what about him?”
“Mr Silverton just arrived over there and couldn’t come back immediately, so he asked me to come and protect you.” Evan replied.
Freya raised an eyebrow, her brow furrowed. “He just arrived over there? That can’t be, right?”
Based on the timing, he should have arrived a long time ago. Evan avoided her gaze. Originally, Elijah should have arrived a long time ago, but just as he was about to board the plane, he received a call from Linda, so Elijah delayed his flight. So he just arrived over there, and it would also take time for him to come back.
Elijah knew that Jack would have people secretly monitoring them the whole time. As soon as there was any movement, it was immediately reported to Elijah. He was worried that Freya might encounter danger, so he had Evan come over first. It was fortunate that Evan didn’t go with him, otherwise, it would have been a real trouble.
Evan’s avoidance, in Freya’s eyes, meant that Elijah still didn’t want to see her.
“Since he himself doesn’t show up, why bother pretending to care about me? Does he care if I’m dead or alive?!”
She had no idea why the accumulated grievances in her heart erupted all of a sudden.
Evan quickly explained, “Ma’am, you’ve misunderstood…”
“Misunderstood what?” Freya sneered, “He knows that I might be harassed by the Silverton family, or even in danger, but he doesn’t show up himself. And you’re lying for him, saying that he just arrived over there and can’t come back immediately. But what, did he travel by bike instead of a plane?!”
“He got delayed with something, actually, Mr Silverton…”
“Stop talking, I don’t want to hear it. Since you’re here because he asked you to, then just stand guard at the door.” After saying that, she closed the door directly.
Freya leaned against the door panel. Tears uncontrollably streamed down her face. But she stubbornly wiped them away. Evan was still standing outside the door. He wanted to raise his hand to knock, but he thought that Freya was still angry at this moment, so he decided against it. He brought someone with him and he let them stand outside the door.
Inside the room, Freya’s phone rang again. This time it wasn’t Deck, but Thorne.
“What do you want?” she asked.
“I don’t want anything, I just want to invite my cousin-in-law to come to the house and talk to me.” Thorne replied.
Freya immediately cursed, “Are you crazy?”
“Whether I’m crazy or not, you can ask your son or your mother.”
Freya’s nerves immediately tightened. “What did you say?!”
“Just that I invited your mother and your son to come over as guests.”
Freya tightly gripped her phone. “Don’t hurt them.”
“Of course, but you have to obey.”
Freya was already extremely nervous, her lips trembling, but she still pretended to be calm. She knew she couldn’t panic. Panic wouldn’t help save anyone. She walked to the door, opened it, and Evan was still there.
“Ma’…”
Freya made a gesture for him to be quiet, then pointed at the phone, using lip reading to tell him that it was Thorne who called, and he had taken Kai and Elowen. She asked him to check the caller ID. Evan instantly understood and immediately ordered someone to trace the call.
Freya faced Thorne cautiously and said, “I can listen to you. Tell me what you want me to do.”
“Very well. In about ten minutes, a commercial vehicle with license plate number 90026 will come to pick you up.”
Freya replied, “Fine, but I need to know that my child and my mother are safe.”All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
As soon as Freya finished speaking, there was a commotion on the other end, followed by Elowen’s voice, “Freya, don’t worry about me…”
Freya also heard the child’s crying. Her heart instantly tightened, and she became so nervous that her whole body trembled. Kai’s crying only broke her heart even more. She kept her eyes open, bloodshot and focused, and said in a low voice, “Thorne, do not harm them. Otherwise, I will surely kill you!”
