You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 202 Freya’s Job

Naturally, Freya was able to respond fluently, “Harmony & Mercy Hospital’s cardiac surgery department is the best. There is a cardiac surgeon there who is known as the ‘Living Bodhisattva’ because of his exceptional skills in treating various cardiac conditions.”

The hospital director smiled with his hands behind his back and said, “You just met the ‘Living Bodhisattva,’ how do you feel?”

“I met him?” Freya thought for a moment and couldn’t believe her ears, “You mean that poker-faced guy?”

She couldn’t find any other words to describe him.

His face was too cold, completely devoid of any warmth.

“Yes, he is the head of the cardiac surgery department, Sivin Peters, also known as the ‘Living Bodhisattva,’ the pride of our hospital,” the director explained.

Freya thought to herself, he’s the doctor she admires?

“You want to apply for that position?” the director asked again.

“Cardiac surgery, I can start from the internship,” she said.

She knew she didn’t have the qualifications to be a senior physician, but she wasn’t afraid to start from the bottom.

“Tell me about your resume,” the director said, not immediately accepting her just because she saved his life. He was still quite strict.

Freya’s resume was relatively simple. After graduation, she followed senior doctors for two years, taking notes in her resume. Others typically did it for three years.

The doctor who mentored her thought she was smart, so she had one less year of note-taking. After that, there was half a year of training, followed by half a year in the operating room with senior doctors. She had only been operating herself for a year. For her age, many doctors hadn’t even touched a scalpel yet, so she was considered quite talented. The previous hospital director also appreciated this about her. He believed that she was willing to work hard and had talent, and with proper nurturing, she would definitely make a name for herself in the future. However, her path had been rough due to various circumstances, and she had put her career on hold for a while.

Freya honestly shared her resume. With her resume, she was already considered quite good in the medical field, especially considering her young age.

“Why did you choose cardiac surgery?” the director asked. “It’s not an easy specialty.”

In other words, this specialty was demanding and required technical skills.

Freya smiled and said, “No matter how difficult it is, can it be harder than when I was studying medicine?”

She was joking. The director chuckled at her comment. Studying medicine was truly difficult.

She had to memorize stacks of books, or else she couldn’t pass the exams. Surgery, internal medicine, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, they were all knowledge points. Internal medicine even included surgery, and surgery included internal medicine. Physiology mixed with biochemistry…

If you prescribed a certain medication, you had to know its mechanism of action, its side effects, toxic side effects, and indications. It all had to be interconnected. Before exams, all you did was memorize.

During many exams, she ended up bald, her brain exhausted, and her hair falling out.

Then came the certifications, which were relatively difficult to obtain in the medical field.

The director smiled and said, “You’re honest.”

He pondered for a moment and said, “How about I have you follow Sivin Peters?”

Freya was surprised.

Not because she didn’t want to, but because she would have the opportunity to work with such an authoritative doctor.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“When can you assist in cardiac surgeries? He has the final say, and if you pass his test, if you’re willing, I’ll talk to him and you can come in tomorrow to complete the on boarding process,” the director said.

The reason he wanted to assign Freya to Sivin Peters was not because she was unwilling, but because she was a good material. It would be a waste without a good leader.

The director had another motive. Sivin Peters was too serious, and Freya was a bit lively. So, combining the two, Sivin Peters wouldn’t have that poker face all the time.

Freya agreed without hesitation, “Sure.”

Because she wasn’t qualified before, all she could do were minor surgeries. So when Elowen had surgery, she could only be an assistant, helping on the side. Not being able to personally treat Elowen was also her regret. But at that time, she couldn’t handle such a major surgery. Neither her experience nor her skills were sufficient.

“You should go back and prepare today,” the dean said.

Freya was excited and stood up to thank the dean, “I will work hard.”

The dean waved his hand.

Freya walked out of the dean’s office, a smile on her face that couldn’t be described. As she walked down the corridor and encountered Sivin Peters, her smile slowly faded.

Sivin Peters glanced at her faintly and said, “That is not something to be proud of. Is there a need to be so happy?”

Wasn’t it because she conquered the dean with her own skills that she was given the opportunity?

Sivin Peters, busy as ever, left after speaking, leaving Freya standing in place, looking bitter. Thinking about having to follow such a person in the future, her heart struggled immensely, but she didn’t want to give up on her dreams.

Freya let out a deep sigh. Perhaps she wouldn’t have good days ahead. But once she could stand on her own, she wouldn’t have to endure his mistreatment anymore. As long as she could learn the skills, she could endure anything.

She walked out of the hospital, got into the car, and told the driver, “Let’s go to the supermarket.”

The driver agreed.

She was happy about her successful interview and wanted to buy something to cook at home. She thought being a doctor was great. She knew what to cook for Elijah and it would help with his injuries. While waiting at the traffic lights, she inadvertently glanced and saw Colton Silverton and Elara Montague coming out of a jewelry store, with Colton embracing her.

It seems Elijah’s plan went smoothly. Did Elara quickly fall into Colton’s arms?

Would Arwen Silverton be furious if she found out?

Freya truly believed Elijah was cunning and crafty.

The green light came on, and the car drove away, and Freya also averted her gaze. She bought groceries and went home.

But Elijah was out. Freya prepared the meal but didn’t wait for him to come back. The food would go cold if not eaten, so she asked Linda and the driver to join her. She cooked more, and it would be a waste not to eat it. After dinner, Linda cleaned up the table, and she went to bathe Kai.

Perhaps it was comfortable after the bath; the little boy lay on the bed, playing with toys and fell asleep. Freya finished bathing and saw her soundly asleep son. She picked him up, put him down in bed, covered him with a blanket, and gently kissed his soft cheek. It made her want to kiss him again.

Her phone suddenly vibrated. She walked over to pick it up, afraid of waking her son, then walked out of the room to answer the call.

It was Luna calling. She was a bit surprised.

“When did you come over? Why didn’t you mention it?” asked Freya.

They had spoken on the phone a few days ago.

She hadn’t heard anything about her coming over.

“I just arrived today. If you’re free, let’s meet up,” Luna said.

Freya sensed something wasn’t right from her tone and asked, “Alright, where should we meet?”

Luna wasn’t familiar with this side, walking alone on the streets, looking lonely like a lost soul.

“In that case, come to my place. I’ll be there soon,” Freya said.

Luna replied, “Okay.”

Hanging up the phone, Freya looked at Kai. He was still sound asleep, so she gently closed the door and then went to change clothes before leaving. Before leaving, she told Linda, “I have something to do and will be out for a while. Kai is sleeping, so make sure he doesn’t wake up. If Elijah comes back and asks about me, tell him I went to the Stone family.”

“Okay,” Linda replied.

Freya left. She arrived at the Stone family and saw Elowen talking to Luna in the living room. She walked in and said, “Mom, it’s getting late. Shouldn’t you go to bed?”

“It’s not even nine o’clock yet, and I can’t sleep.” Said Elowen.

Freya walked over and took Luna’s hand, saying, “Mom, Luna and I need to have a private conversation. Give us some time, okay?”

Elowen pretended to be angry and shot her daughter a glance, “I can’t stop you, can I?”

Freya smiled and led Luna to her old room. She closed the door and turned to Luna, asking directly, “What’s going on? I could tell something was off from your voice on the phone.”
