You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 192 Unmentionable

She stood up in a hurry. “You’re still injured, how did you get out of bed? Is something wrong? You look terrible,” she said.

Zane just looked at her with red eyes and choked up, unable to speak.

Elowen spoke for him. “The police came just now and said that Yolanda Steele’s case has been closed and they can retrieve the body.”

“What?” Freya was surprised that the police had closed the case so quickly. But upon reflection, it made sense. The other party probably didn’t want to drag out the case too long since Elijah didn’t kill anyone; he couldn’t be framed for it. They could only close the case as soon as possible.

“The officer who came to tell me said that there will be a trial tomorrow announcing the closure of the case. Can you come with me?” Zane leaned against the door while Freya walked over and helped him up. “I’ll go with you,” she said reassuringly, “I think whoever killed your mother is afraid of being caught and wants this over quickly.”

“But now that they’ve closed the case, do I still have a chance to find out who really did it?” Zane felt anxious.

Freya told him calmly, “Yes we do have a chance if we find evidence we can appeal but right now we don’t have any evidence or even know how your mother was taken away by someone else. For now all we can do is accept this result until our opponent lets their guard down then we’ll have an opportunity to reopen this investigation.”

Zane hated saying this but he knew deep down inside that Freya was right: “It must be someone I know who used me!”

Freya patted his shoulder gently telling him not to get too worked up about it: “Your recovery is more important right now so when you’re better then together let’s find your mother’s killer.”

“Okay,” Zane nodded firmly.

Inside a private residence:

A man held onto a woman trying his best to comfort her.

“It’s okay don’t be angry anymore even though things didn’t go according plan at least your identity wasn’t exposed if not for Silverton family matters involving Elijah then maybe we wouldn’t have gotten away unscathed either way from here on out hide yourself for awhile.”

The woman looked at him coldly thinking about what he had just said, “I put in so much effort into manipulating Zane Stone into becoming my hitman yet when I set off those bombs near Elijah why wasn’t he killed? It’s such bad luck! How will there ever be another opportunity like this again?”

Elijah guessed correctly; whoever planted those bombs were constantly monitoring their situation closely, which meant they found out immediately after everything happened.

Even if Zane contacted her again she wouldn’t fall for meeting face-to-face again. To successfully execute the plan of faking her death, it was necessary to close off all communication channels as soon as possible.

“I don’t want to do this, but I have no other choice,” the woman said with intense hatred in her eyes.

The man tried to console her. “I know a private restaurant that serves amazing food. Let me take you there.”

He was patient and understanding.

Knowing that the man truly cared for her, even if she wasn’t in the mood at that moment, she smiled and leaned into his embrace. “I’ll follow your lead.”

The man was happy and hugged and kissed her passionately. After another intense encounter between them, they both collapsed exhaustedly on the couch…

Later on, when it was over, the woman sat naked on the sofa while the man lay beside her completely drained of energy. She looked at him with little affection in her eyes; instead they were cold and distant. It seemed like she didn’t love him as much as he loved her.

The next day.

She disguised herself as a journalist and went to cover up what had happened at Yolanda Steele’s case closure scene.

Freya and Elowen were also present mainly because of Zane; Yolanda Steele’s death didn’t matter much to Freya since it wasn’t related to Zane anyway. They found a place to sit down while waiting for things to start happening.

A police officer read out a statement explaining how Yolanda Steele had pretended illness so she could leave prison under medical supervision before escaping from hospital only later committing suicide out of fear of being caught again. It didn’t make sense because even if Yolanda Steele managed to escape from hospital while pretending illness someone would have been watching over here so how could she possibly have gotten away?

Clearly someone had helped get rid of any obstacles preventing their escape!

Zane became agitated clenching his fists tightly together while Freya tried calming him down saying, “Stay calm!”

“I can’t control myself!” Zane replied trying hard not lose his cool but failing miserably. His mother died yet again due some unknown reason making him feel helpless since he knew deep inside himself that someone else must be responsible for what happened but without any evidence he couldn’t prove anything which made him feel frustrated beyond belief.

Freya understood his feelings well enough sighing softly without offering any words comfort knowing full well that this situation needed time before anyone could come up with an effective solution or strategy moving forward.NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.

The case was quickly concluded, and Yolanda Steele’s body could be claimed. Zane went in person, accompanied by Elowen. Freya didn’t go. She waited at the door.

A journalist approached her, holding a microphone and camera. She turned her head and, in a moment of inadvertence, realized that the journalist’s appearance was somewhat familiar. But she couldn’t remember who the woman looked like for a moment. The woman looked up, her journalist badge clipped to her right chest. Without it, she wouldn’t have been able to get in just now.

As she passed by Freya, she turned back and gave her a glance. Freya was taken aback by the look of hatred and disgust in her eyes.

Just as Freya was about to approach them and ask if they knew each other, Elowen called out to her, “Freya, come over here and help.”

Freya glanced at the female journalist before turning around and walking towards Elowen. However, after she turned around, she didn’t see the female journalist’s eyes filled with undisguised hatred.

Elowen instructed people to transport Yolanda Steele’s body. They had already arranged for a funeral car specifically for this purpose. Since Zane was injured and unable to do much else besides signing some documents when claiming the body later on, Elowen asked Freya to come over and take care of him.

Freya helped Zane onto the car.

Leo Stone had already died long ago, but Yolanda Steele’s body had been kept at the police station for too long that it wasn’t suitable anymore. They needed to bury her as soon as possible. Zane had already found a grave site for his mother next to Leo Stone in the same cemetery but not right next door since there were no available spots left there either; he still wanted his mother buried alongside his father.

“Freya, I want my mom and dad together, will you be angry?” He asked.

“Your mom has been with dad for twenty years even though they weren’t married,” Freya said calmly. “She can be considered someone who shared his bed.”

Zane felt relieved hearing that he didn’t make Freya angry.

“Since we’re talking about this topic now, I have something I want tell you too. I hope you won’t be mad.” Freya said seriously looking at him.

Zane rarely saw such seriousness from Frey so he couldn’t help feeling uneasy.

“Is everything okay, Freya?” He cleared his throat nervously asking.

“It’s about the grave site…”

“What happened with the grave site?” Zane interrupted anxiously before letting her finish speaking.

“Can I finish what I’m saying first?”

Zane quickly apologized, “Sorry, sorry, you continue!”
