You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 183 Why, Don’t Want Me to Leave?

“What’s your relationship with her?” the female doctor asked.

Freya seemed to not hear her, as she was too shocked by the examination.

“When did she come to the hospital and with whom?” she asked, looking up.

The doctor replied, “Just today. A very handsome man brought her in. Later I heard that he’s the CEO of Headence Group, a real diamond bachelor. The patient’s name is Elara Montague and when she arrived here, her clothes were disheveled and she was injured. It was obviously recent.”

Freya felt nauseous for no reason. She covered her mouth and gagged once.

“Are you okay?” The doctor asked with concern. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

Freya shook her head and said, “I’m fine, thank you.”

She handed over some things to the doctor who took them saying “You’re welcome.”

“Next time I have a chance I’ll treat you to dinner,” Freya said.

The female doctor smiled and agreed.

Freya didn’t go see Elara Montague in the ward because now her mind was a little confused. It wasn’t that she suspected Elijah but rather that when she asked him about it he didn’t say anything. And why did he bring Elara Montague to this hospital?

And they even checked…

If it had nothing to do with him then why did he bring Elara Montague?

It wasn’t that Freya wanted to think too much but rather that this matter was right in front of her so it couldn’t be ignored. A man bringing a woman into a hospital already made people think more than enough.

She closed her eyes trying hard not let emotions overwhelm herself, trying hard to keep calm Standing on the steps outside of the hospital entrance way made Freya feel weak all over as if both legs were soft making it difficult for standing steady at all times

The driver walked over supporting her and asked, “Are you feeling unwell?”

Freya shook his head saying, “I’m fine. Don’t tell anyone about my visit here today.”

The driver replied, “Okay.”

Freya took deep breaths and tried hard not let emotions overwhelm herself while getting into car. By time they returned home, she managed adjust mood back down again until everything became calm again.

The car stopped, and Freya got off, saying, “Don’t forget the things I’ve asked you to do.”

The driver replied, “I won’t say anything.”

Freya nodded with satisfaction and walked in.

She pushed open the door and the house was quiet.

She approached the room, and it was dark inside. There was a figure on the bed, and from the slender silhouette, she knew it was Elijah. As she walked closer, she saw that Kai was also there. He had his body slightly bent over as he lay in Elijah’s arms. It looked like Kai was embedded within him.

She sat down on the edge of the bed and quietly watched Kai. The dim light made her expression blurry and hard to read. She reached out her hand and gently stroked Kai’s cheek. His baby skin felt soft and smooth under her fingertips, making her heart skip a beat.

This was her child – her precious little one.

“What are you looking at?” A deep voice sounded out, causing Freya to lift up her head to see that Elijah had opened his eyes at some point.

Trying to keep herself calm, Freya said in an even tone, “You’re awake.”

Elijah reached out his hand towards hers, “Come here.”

But Freya didn’t take his hand; instead she got up with a smile, “I’m going to take a shower; you can go back to sleep.”

As soon as she turned around towards the bathroom door though, Elijah couldn’t help but stare at her retreating figure with confusion written all over his face. Even though she smiled just now, he couldn’t feel any warmth from it – only coldness.

What was wrong with her?

Suddenly he wasn’t sleepy anymore; instead he kept staring into the darkness with bright eyes.

Freya entered the bathroom, turned on the shower, but sat on the toilet without taking off her clothes to bathe. She had seemingly calmed her emotions, but for some reason, looking at Elijah made her heart race uncontrollably. She was afraid, afraid that Elara Montague and Elijah had really been involved with each other. If they hadn’t been involved, given Elijah’s personality, they wouldn’t have gotten so close. She took out her phone to examine the photo.

The angle of the photo was well chosen, capturing Elara tugging at Elijah’s clothes, as if being playful. And since Elijah’s expression was hidden, it made the man and woman in the photo look like a couple.

Freya felt a slight pain in her chest, struggling to catch her breath. She covered her chest and patted it. The steam filled the entire bathroom, the air becoming stuffy and hot, causing her to break into a sweat. She stood up and undressed to take a shower.

By the time she emerged, almost an hour had passed. She had stayed in the bathroom for an hour. Just as she reached the edge of the bed, Elijah sat up, his arm reaching out to encircle her waist. Freya, with the scent of shower gel on her body, fell into his embrace. She struggled a bit, but Elijah held her tighter, his warm breath brushing against her ear. “Is something upsetting you? Do you need my help?”

“Why would you say that?”

“I feel like you’re not happy.” Elijah replied.

Freya lowered her gaze, thinking she had concealed it well, but it turned out Elijah had noticed her unhappiness.

“I’m not unhappy, just a bit tired,” she murmured, trying to make her voice sound calm.

“Then let me hold you while you sleep.”

Elijah lay down, holding her, and she cradled Kai in her arms. The faint moonlight seeped through the white window curtains, casting strands of light on the bed, the floor, and the table. Freya couldn’t fall asleep, but she kept her eyes closed, pretending to be asleep, making Elijah think she had dozed off.

She woke up again before dawn, unable to fall back asleep. With her eyes open, she stared at the window.

Elijah’s phone, left on the table, suddenly vibrated, waking him up. He immediately picked it up and pressed the end call button, afraid of waking Freya and Kai. He got up gently with his phone, wearing slippers as he walked towards the balcony.

He closed the glass door and called back, “What’s up?”

“Didn’t you ask me to monitor Elara Montague? I saw her meeting Arwen Silverton,” Xander said.

Elijah narrowed his eyes. “Do you know what they talked about?”

“They were far away, our people couldn’t get too close. Arwen Silverton is highly vigilant, afraid of being discovered, so…”

“I understand. We’ll talk about it when we meet later.”

He hung up the phone, walked back to the bed with his phone in hand, and just as he put it down, Freya spoke, “Whose call was that?”

It wasn’t that she was sensitive, but after Elara Montague’s stunt, a shadow of doubt crept into her heart. It tormented her, making her feel uneasy. Elijah had just hung up the phone, even sneaking out to answer it. She became even more unsettled.

“Xander, he needed something from me,” Elijah sat on the edge of the bed, reaching up to smooth her disheveled hair. “It’s still early, go back to sleep for a while. I need to take care of something.”

Freya bit her lip. “What’s so urgent? It’s still dark outside.”

Elijah chuckled, his voice deep and husky from just waking up, adding an extra magnetism. “Why, don’t want me to leave?”
