You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 149 Firm Conclusion

To avoid drawing attention, Ronan Vega had hidden Freya’s child in a nursery, hiring a professional nanny to care for him. Now, he came to pick up Kai after completing the necessary formalities.

Since he had to drive, he placed the baby on the back seat lying down. Thankfully, Kai had just had his formula and was peacefully sleeping. Ronan occasionally glanced at him through the rearview mirror. Despite being Freya’s child, the baby seemed to resemble Elijah Silverton more.

The thought irritated him again. He had finally seized the child, a means to threaten Freya, but it had all turned into nothing. His feelings of reluctance were palpable, but he had no other choice. He couldn’t ignore his own mother. He had to bring the child to Jack Silverton in exchange.

Jack Silverton’s revenge tactic of “an eye for an eye” was effective. He had directly caught Ronan Vega in the act.

Ronan drove the car to Jack’s old mansion, carrying Kai and walking in. Jack Silverton sat at a Feng Shui tea table, calmly making tea, seemingly at ease. A servant came in to report, “Mr Vega is here.”

“Let him in.”

Shortly after, Ronan entered with Kai in his arms.

“Take the child,” Jack instructed his bodyguard when he saw the baby.

Soon, Ronan’s mother was brought out.

Seeing his mother safe and sound, Ronan said, “Here.”

Jack signaled Deck to bring the child over.

“Ronan,” Seren Vega saw her son and called out with joy.

At this moment, Jack signaled the bodyguard to release her.

“Mom.” Ronan hurried over to support his mother. “Are you okay? Did they harm you?”

“No, no,” Seren Vega said. She was indeed frightened, being captured by unfamiliar people. However, not wanting her son to worry, she reassured him, “I’m fine.”

Ronan looked at Jack and asked, “Are we settled now?”

“Don’t think about Freya anymore.” Jack Silverton stated.

Ronan Vega smiled and said, “I remember. Freya and your grandson are divorced. I obtained the divorce certificate from you. Now, she is single. Why can’t I pursue her?”

Jack shook his head, thinking Ronan Vega was too naive. “If you don’t agree, do you think you can leave the Silverton family today?”

“What do you mean? Are you trying to renege on the deal?” Ronan glanced back and noticed several people had appeared at the door.

“Our deal was that you give me the child, and I return your mother. Didn’t I already give you your mother?” Jack countered.

“Even if you didn’t go back on your word, you’re still cheating.” Ronan Vega felt exasperated, but he had to hold it in. Firstly, this wasn’t his own turf, and secondly, he couldn’t lose his cool in front of his mother and worry her.

“Ronan Vega, you were despicable first. You abducted a baby and threatened a woman who doesn’t like you to marry you. Do you think what you did is honorable?” Jack sharply questioned.

Ronan was instantly speechless. He couldn’t argue because everything Jack said was true.

“Ronan, are all these things he said true?” Seren Vega seemed surprised, even disbelieving. “You said you were going to get married soon and would bring her back to show me. So, you used this method to obtain a marriage?”

“No,” Ronan dared not tell the truth to his mother.

Seren Vega had hoped for her son to marry soon. Over the past few years, Ronan Vega hadn’t met anyone he liked, except for Freya Stone, who he grew to like more and more. He had feelings for Freya. Of course, there was also an element of wanting to get back at Elijah Silverton.

“I promise,” Ronan had to agree.

“I hope you can keep your word, so that we can go far.” said Jack.

Ronan didn’t respond and led his mother outside. Seren Vega didn’t know what had happened, but she knew this wasn’t the place to talk. It wasn’t until they got to the car that she took her son’s hand and asked, “Tell me, what’s going on?”

After experiencing this incident, she felt uneasy.

“Ronan, after your father passed away, he handed over the company to you in full. I don’t understand company matters and can’t help you much. I know you’re not easy, but no matter what, you can’t force a person who doesn’t love you to get married. That won’t make you happy.”

Seren Vega wanted the best for her son and didn’t want him to marry a woman who didn’t like him. She knew he wouldn’t be happy that way. As a woman, she also understood the plight of being forced to marry a man you didn’t love.

“I hope my daughter-in-law is gentle, understanding, and most importantly, loves you as much as you love her. Only then can a marriage last. I didn’t go with your father because I couldn’t bear to leave you behind.”

Seren spoke sincerely to her son. Ronan knew this. That was why he had told his mother that the girl he liked was in Urbora City and he wanted to get married there before bringing her back. He was afraid that his mother would find out that he had forced a marriage through threats!

“You heard that?” Failing to get an answer from her son, Seren Vega intensified her tone and patted him. “I want you to find a girl who loves you and whom you love. I won’t urge you to get married, but you must find a girl who truly suits you. I don’t want to see you unhappy in marriage.”

Seren Vega was a kind mother, considering her son’s feelings.

“I see.” Replied Ronan Vega.

“I know you’ve been through a lot since your father passed away. For a long time, you couldn’t get over his death, indulging in drinking and debauchery, doing all sorts of absurd things. I know about all those. Those weren’t your intentions; you were just sad, unwilling to face the fact that your father passed away. You deliberately numbed yourself. I watched you sink and then gradually recover. Ah Wei, I had great hopes for you, you know?”

She held her son’s hand. Ronan lowered his eyes. “Mom, I know. I’ll take you back.”

Seren Vega nodded. “I haven’t been feeling well lately. Accompany me.”

She intentionally wanted to keep her son by her side, not allowing him to do anything dangerous. Though this incident was without danger, who could guarantee the next one wouldn’t be? She just didn’t want her son to encounter any danger.

“Ronan, your father handed the company over to you. I hope you can manage it well,” Seren Vega hoped that, for the time being, he would focus on his work.

Ronan Vega agreed, “I know.”

“That’s right, just don’t make me worry about you,” Seren said.

“I won’t let you worry,” Ronan reassured her.

Buzzing, Ronan’s phone suddenly rang. He answered the call. It was his assistant, informing him, “I’ve found out who went to catch Madam, it was Deck.”

Ronan Vega lowered his eyes. “I see.”

The old mansion of the Silverton family.

After Ronan left, Jack asked Deck to bring the child for him to see. When Jack saw the child, a glint appeared in his eyes. He asked, “Deck, does he look like young Elijah?”

Without hesitation, Deck said, “Yes.”

“Exactly the same!” Jack almost confirmed it.

This child was Elijah’s. The more he looked, the more delighted he became. As he grew older, he naturally wished for grandchildren.

“Do you still want a paternity test?” Deck asked.

Although the child looked exactly like Elijah, just to be sure, a DNA test would be better.

“For reassurance, let’s do the test,” Jack said.

Deck nodded. “I’ll arrange it right away.”

Jack agreed. To be at ease, he had the bodyguard carry the child while he went to the hospital, closely monitoring the process.

An hour later, the results were out. Deck brought them over and handed them to Jack. “Sir, the results.”

Jack took a look. As expected, the child was confirmed to be Elijah’s.

“This child is Elijah’s.”

The man who was about to approach heard this and froze. Then, in the next second, his face changed.

He stepped forward, “Grandpa.”
