Chapter 9: I’ll Get You Punished
Chapter 9: I’ll Get You Punished
When Ben returned to the company, the door of his office had cracked. He squinted his eyes.
He pushed the door open. The woman sitting on the sofa heard the sound and immediately looked at
the door. When she saw Ben, her eyes brightened.
“Ben, were you wasted last night?”
Hanna got up. She had delicate makeup on her pretty face. Her long hair hanged down on her
shoulders. The Givenchy dress she was in outlined her sexy curve.
She looked graceful and attractive.
“No.” Ben's voice was low, and he went straight to the desk and put down the documents.
Hanna looked at him. “You shouldn’t drink too much. It is bad for your health!”
He looked at her calmly and suddenly asked, "How long will you stay this time?"
Hanna thought for a while and replied, “I don't know, forever, maybe”
Ben looked aside at her, then he pondered for a few seconds.
Hanna caught a glimpse of the documents and asked, “Have you been busy lately? I heard the
Crawford Group’s new product is about to be released.”
“Yeah.”
His reply was simple and decisive, which made it harder to read the emotions in it.
Hanna smiled. She somehow looked a bit disappointed.
“Then I’ll leave you alone. I got to go now. Bye.”
As she spoke, she turned and walked out.
A few steps later, she staggered on her feet and almost fell.
Her legs went limp as she kept on walking. Suddenly, Ben pulled her arm from behind and she fell
directly into his arms.
The moment he touched her, he felt that her palm was in heat!
Ben frowned and felt her forehead with his hand. Then he asked, “Are you having a fever?”
“It's okay. It’s just a cold. You should go back to work. I'll take some pills and I’ll be fine!” Hanna said
firmly, but her trembling body gave her away.
She couldn't even stand still. Fortunately, Ben was supporting her, otherwise, she would have fallen
again.
“I'm fine!” She replied as she pushed away his hand, “I should go...”
Yet she failed to break free from his arms. “Ben, I...”
“I'll take you to the hospital!”
Ben picked her up by the waist and carried her downstairs quickly.
Outside the ER of the hospital, Ben said to an attending, “She is allergic to common anti-inflammatory
drugs for the cold!”
“Got it, Mr. Crawford.”
Ben stared at the closed door of the rescue room with his back leaned against the corridor wall,
expressionless.
He was like a perfectly carved statue.
At the corner of the stairs not far away, Claudia stood there and looked at him.
She was walking in the hallway until ran into Ben with Hanna in his arms. She saw him holding her and
running over, with the anxious and caring look she had never seen before...
That made Claudia heartbroken. She felt a dull pain in her chest.
After the treatment, Hanna was transferred to the VIP ward for recovery. She would have to stay here
for another two days because she was having a fever.
Ben sat near Hanna’s bed to take care of her. She was lying in there with a pillow behind. Her face was
pale but her eyes were still shining. She thanked him, “I’m so lucky to have you there. I'm alright now.”
When Claudia went upstairs, she happened to saw Hanna's ward.
The door was half-open, and she had a panoramic view of what happened in the room. Looking from
her perspective, she saw Ben’s handsome face piled up with a gentle smile.
Claudia lowered her head, and her eyes were almost covered by her long eyelashes.
She could bear to take keep watching. She could only escape back to her ward.
She left in such a hurry that she didn't hear Ben say, “Have a good rest. I'm going back to the
company.” This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
He looked calm and without any special feelings in his eyes.
Hanna nodded with a forced smile, looking in the direction he was leaving for in despair.
In the next ward, Claudia stood alone on the balcony in the breeze. She touched her belly with a glazed
look.
She was so drowned in thoughts that she didn't realize that Ben had been standing behind her. Then
he suddenly let out a sound, making her startle.
“Why didn't you have dinner?”
Ben frowned at those foods on the table.
Claudia walked in from the balcony and looked at him.
“Is it because they taste bad?”
Ben asked as he pulled her over with his long arms. He was surprised when he touched her hands,
because they were so cold.
Next, he took off his jacket and wrapped it around her. Claudia smelled the special scent that belonged
to him.
“Stay well in the hospital. If there is something wrong with my son, I’ll get you punished!”
He said and gently rubbed her hair with his large hand.
Claudia was overwhelmed. Her mind went blank for a moment.
Ben turned around, and the housekeeper came in. He gave his order, “Take the cold food away, and
serve Mrs. Crawford something more delicious!”
“On my way, sir.”
Claudia forced herself to finish a bowl of rice under the housekeeper's watch and persuading. It might
be that her appetite had decreased significantly by the third trimester of pregnancy.
When she was full, the housekeeper cleaned up the tableware and asked her to go for a walk, because
more activities are good for the baby's health.
She went out and happened to run into Hanna who’s also coming out of the ward. Hanna looked at
Claudia with a smile and greeted her, “You are Ben's wife, Claudia, right?”
Claudia paused and looked sideways at her.
“Nice to meet you!”
Hanna looked at her and continued, “Would you like to go for a walk together?”
Claudia was a little confused. Before she could react, Hanna said, “Don't get me wrong. Ben and I are
just friends. It’s not how you thought.”
