Wolf-less Omega Luna

CHAPTER 30: A DATE TOO

CHAPTER 30: A DATE TOO

Axel's POV

Whatever morals I had as a man were snapped to by a thin thread the moment Alana strutted out of the changing room.

I fought with Four against the idea of ripping the clothes into shreds and taking her right there and then.

Her naturally infused scent of apples hurling my brain left and right plus her irresistible smell of desire permeating the room made me consider ending the date short and taking her in the back of the car.

As soon as I took off my pants in the changing room, my bulge burst through my boxer briefs, soaking it with pre-come. Goddess, I was 28 and not a damn teenager.

“Is this it?” Alana gaped and pointed to the building of the restaurant we were going to have lunch in, almost as if she was oblivious to the torment I was going through because of her.

“Yes, Princess,” I opened the door to my side of the car and made it to hers to see that she was already out and attempting to close the door.

I slapped her hand playfully off the car handle, lifted her back onto the passenger’s seat, and closed the door. After a brief pause, I opened the door and offered her my arm to help her down.

“Was that necessary?” She asked with a laugh, her smile lines appearing, enhancing her face even more.

“Of course. Why not? You can’t be seen doing such laborious work when I’m right here with you,” I told her matter-of-factly.

“I didn’t know getting down from a car was considered laborious,” she said as we made our way into the restaurant and were ushered to our table.

“It is when it’s you.” That made her roll her eyes so hard, I’m sure they did a 360 turn in their sockets.

“This place is so beautiful, Axel.” She stopped quickly and turned to me, shooting her eyes up to her hairline. I couldn’t wait to see those eyes roll with pleasure when I thrust deep into her. “Do you own this place too?”

I chuckled at her. “Not all of it. This is more of Tyler’s. I’m only an investor here.”

“Damn,” she tutted. “You intimidate me, Alpha Axel,”

“If it’s mine, then it’s yours too.”

She looked so beautiful in the light and even though she was right there with me, I couldn’t get her off my mind.

I pulled back a chair for her and settled down opposite her.

She shifted nervously in her chair before speaking. “It’s just us.”

I nodded. “I had the place cleared out to give us some privacy.”

A waiter came to serve us wine and the thought immediately popped into my head.

“Hello, Racheal,” I took out my phone from the pocket of my pants. “Please, do me a favor and take a photo of us together.” I turned to Alana. “If you’d like that, of course.”

Her eyes flashed and her lips dropped low before she returned a smile and nodded.

“Of course. I can’t remember the last time I was in front of a camera.”

I reached out for her hand across the small round table and squeezed softly, planting a kiss on it after running my palm over hers.

It was supposed to soothe her, but every time I touched Alana, I got refreshingly calm instead.

The stutter from the camera was heard once and we both turned and smiled at it, drawing another click.

“Thank you, Racheal.”

“Thank you,” Alana smiled.

“You’re welcome.” She flashed us a sincere smile. “You’re both so beautiful together. Your food will be served shortly.”

The comment spread a warm and satisfied buzz through me and I growled lowly in response.

I watched her eat and chew slowly on the left side before transferring it to the right and swallowing. Watched her drink more juice than wine, evidently because of her low tolerance for alcohol. I watched avocado smear the corner of her mouth when she took a bite. I —

“You’re staring, Axel,” she jolted me.

“I know,” I said, my gaze unmoving.

“Isn’t that a bit creepy?” She cocked an eyebrow

I shook my head. It probably was, but I didn’t care. I changed the subject to put her at ease if my staring did the opposite effect.

I still stole occasional glances from my peripheral.

“My sister will be returning home soon. In a few days,” I took a swig of the drink and refilled the empty glass.

“Oh, you have one? Fascinating.”

A small laugh escaped my lips. “Yeah, I know. I didn’t skip that information intentionally. You were supposed to meet her earlier, but she had to leave to be with an ally pack.” This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

“Yeah? Why?”

I didn’t find myself hesitating before telling her. I wanted her to know everything about me. I just didn’t know how to tell her that my presence in her pack years ago caused her parents’ death and forced her into the life she experienced after.

“She has a little delay in manifesting her wolf form. Not that it’s a problem, but we thought that a trip to another scenery with people of similar age and things in common might help her ease into it. Help her clear her head. She reached out to me that she’d be coming back to the pack.”

“Oh.” A sad smile crossed her lips. “I know what it’s like to be the different one. I felt it when I lost Rox. Never mind an Alpha blood who hasn’t even gotten hers. It must be hard on her.”

I nodded, my jaw slightly stiff. “She’ll get to it. I got mine at 18,” I said in an attempt to lift the mood and get her to smile again.

“Really?”

“Uh-um,” I nodded, smiling in return to her smiling.

“Who would have thought?” She drank more juice. “How old is she? Your sister.”

“Emily turned sixteen about a month ago.”

She repeated the name slowly, dragging out the syllables.

“I got mine at thirteen. Rox.”

“Wow, Alana, you impress me. You beat me to it with five years.” I tsked. “That’s something. I got to give it to you,” I shrugged.

“Stop it, Axel,” she slapped my arm as she laughed.

We talked about everything we could through the rest of the dinner.

Her favorite colors, sports, and hobbies. Her favorite movies which happened to be none twisted my chest uncomfortably and I made a mental note to remedy that.

We talked about embarrassing things we did as kids, even as adults.

Dinner ended with me saying thank you to the Moon Goddess for giving me such a gem.

Mate bond aside, Alana was one woman of impeccable qualities. She had sound opinions on matters of the mind, and I noticed the way her eyes glistened with excitement whenever a business talk was brought up.

I made another mental note to put that up in consideration.

During the drive back, we stopped at a bookshop where Alana’s eyes practically shone and her shrill almost damaged my ear drums.

I encouraged her by showing her more of my favorite books around the store.

Growing new eardrums would be painful but if it meant Alana would be happy, then by all means, grow me a pair every week.

“Here,” I picked out a first edition of a book I first got for myself and passed it to her. “I think you’d love this.”

“Yes! Yes! And yes!”

Ever since Alana was given a book from Kennedy and more from me, she had picked up a new hobby. A book was always face down on top of the drawer whenever I went to her room, so I knew for a fact she’d like this.

“Have at it then.” I laughed, not surprised at how much I laughed when it was Alana speaking, breathing, or sleeping.

Goddamnit.

She pouted and my breath hitched. “I don’t have any money to buy this.” She looked over at the price tag. “You’ve spent enough already. I can’t let you pay for this.”

“You do have the money though. You have the card I gave you. It has enough in it.”

“Oh, shit. The card.”

I laughed. Again.

There had only been one debit from the card and that was from her shopping with Coral. I didn’t need a witch to tell me she’d forgotten about the card.

“It’s okay, Alana, let me pay and you can pay me back. I take cash or kind,” I cocked my head to the side and leaned towards her. She practically froze.

“I had a really good evening, Axel,” she said as I held the door open for her to get in and she turned the bag containing her new books in her hand. “Thank you for taking me out. It was beyond wonderful.”

The glimmer in her eyes and her deep smile lines were enough to show how sincere her expression was.

“I had the best night of my life.”

I almost regretted blurting it out without thinking but I was happy I did as she leaned on her toes and pressed her savory lips to mine, pulling my beast to the surface in a millisecond.
