Chapter 47 Forced onto the Operating Table
Chapter 47 Forced onto the Operating Table
Mia dared to carry William’s child, I will let her pay the price!
She was still in her dreams when she was awakened by Rebecca. Her expression was gloomy and
said to the two servants, “Take Miss Charles to the car.”
“Go where?” Mia asked but Rebecca was already walking in front.
At the courtyard, the servants were dismissed and William’s Maserati was just in front. The car was
occupied and it looked like William himself. Mia was pushed in after the door was opened. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
William was seated on the front passenger seat and talking to someone on the phone, the words,
“operate”, “sign”, were mentioned. Mia’s heart sank and had a bad feeling about this.
The car started and a cheque was handed to her by the emotionless William, “This is the payment for
the bone marrow donation and nutrition fees, one million, enough?”
Bone marrow donation?
“Now?” she had held onto the cheque and trembled. She wasn’t worried about the money but the child
within her! Her body was already very weak. How can the child endure this?
William nodded coldly and Mia was stunned for several minutes before coming to her senses. She
threw the cheque back at him and rejected, “No, no, I cannot do this operation at this time! Let me out!”
The doors and windows were all locked tightly and there was no way for her to escape.
Not to mention the two burly servants on either side of her.
She was wailing and tears were flowing and she didn’t care if the car was moving and she knelt and
pulled William’s sleeve, “I beg you, don’t be like that, if the operation is done now, the child will not
survive!”
A deep and cold expression shot over and William felt his heart pained looking at her pitiful state, but
he ruthlessly made up his mind. He raised his hand to stop her and then forcibly pulled her hand off,
“The operation will continue!”
“What about the child? What will the child do?” The car was bumping about and Mia was thrown about
in the car. She didn’t bother with all these and went to pull William’s shirt again but was restrained by
the two servants. Her pitiful look fell upon William and even more, tears flowed over her pale face. She
didn’t give up in begging, “Give the child a chance, I will not rebel against you anymore, let me live or
die is all up to you. I beg you, I beg of you!”
“The child…” is his flesh and blood, and Sophia was his partner for life. They can give birth to more
children next time. He flung away her hand and William chilled his expression and forced himself to be
even more ruthless, “no possibility of changing, the child will have to seek its own fortunes.”
Seek its own fortunes! Her child can only seek its own fortunes! Mia suddenly stopped crying and
glared at William with hatred as if she wanted to devour him.
A demon remains a demon, even when the skin is removed, it’s still a demon! Mia, why are you
begging a demon? Will he have a human’s compassion?
He was not concerned about this child, his only concern was Sophia. The child he wanted was with
Sophia! How can she be so naive? So stupid!
A chill ran down her spine and she suddenly laughed wildly, “ha ha ha”, bone-chilling laughter of
hopelessness, William’s heart ached painfully.
She lay on the operating table quietly, her face had a strange smile from beginning to end.
“Hi! How are you doing.” James smiled at her and held her hand. She nodded in a daze and smiled
back at him. Her heart had died and covered with dirt, even if she was facing James who she liked, she
didn’t have the mood to express any desires.
Seek its own fortunes, today her child and her can only seek its own fortunes.
She closed her eyes and out rolled two drops of tears.
“Don’t be nervous, it’s just a small procedure.” James' voice was already in a distance. Her soul was
hopeless and blocked by these iron walls and cut off by William’s heartlessness. She doesn’t want to
hear a thing.
Her skin hurt when the needle pierced into her veins, the weird smile on that peachy face seemed
increasingly beautiful…
William turned and walked out, he didn’t even hear Sophia calling out to him.
Two hours later.
James gave a V sign to his assistant and took off his surgical mask revealing his handsome and unruly
clean features. He walked out in big strides and welcomed William. He hugged William and said, “The
operation is a success.”
“Oh no, there’s lots of blood!” The scrub nurse yelled and William and James ran hurriedly to Sophia.
But the nurse was standing next to Mia waving, “Over here, it’s the donor!”
William’s chest tightened and looked over.
The snow-white bed sheets had a large patch of black colored blood and Mia was immersed in the pool
of blood!
“What happened!” James rushed over to examine her. William looked at the black and eye-piercing
look and felt waves of chills, he quickly looked away and saw a face white as a sheet of paper, and the
eyes were lifeless looking at James…
“To the operating theatre!”
William didn’t know how he got out. Mia’s pale face and black bloodied body went around him,
suppressed him, and he almost couldn’t breathe.
“Everything’s normal with Mrs. Brown, the procedure is very successful. Now it’s observing if she has
any bodily rejection.” The nurse said to him but he wasn’t happy nor anxious, he was emotionless.
Frustrated, he jumped into the car and sped out of the hospital.
Mia finally woke up and her face doesn’t look like it has any blood. She was almost the same color as
the white blanket. Her eyes were sunken and looked bigger. She didn’t have any emotion and was an
empty hole. Her chin was pointed and her lips were dry. Her breathing was shallow but silent.
She wore an oversized light blue patient’s gown and her hands rest on her abdomen.
“You’re finally awake, we thought that you won’t make it. You lost a lot of blood and your body is so
weak…” The nurse changed a bottle of the IV drip and said.
She glanced momentarily at the nurse and then looked away. She was like an extinguished flame.
The nurse looked at her, sighed, and left. Mia maintained her position.
At the door, Sophia came in a wheelchair and quietly entered and stopped in front of the bed.
The servant left and there were only two of them in the room.
She pulled out a cheque and Sophia didn’t have many expressions and threw the cheque onto the
bedsheet. She said directly, “The operation is over, you can go, this is a cheque for a million, consider
this William and my reward to you.”
Mia was on the bed and looked over slowly at Sophia. Although she was still recovering, she already
had some signs of health and it showed on her pink face.
In comparison, Mia was pale and weak, like a terminally ill patient. She shifted her eyes onto the
cheque and her dried lips suddenly opened.
She raised her hand and it trembled as she was still very weak. She used all her strength to pick up the
cheque. She looked at it and with her raspy but clear voice, “One, two, three, four… six zeros,
generous.”
Sophia nodded contentedly, “That’s right, this amount of money is enough to feed you for a lifetime!
Pack up immediately and leave as far as possible.”
She didn’t care if Mia was able to walk and just wanted her to disappear.
A servant walked in and Sophia pointed to Mia and ordered, “Go, get Miss Charles out of here!”
Mia’s face was full of disgust and she mustered her strength to slide down the bed. But because she
was so weak, she stumbled several times. The servant went over and forcefully supported her up. She
walked with much difficulty towards Sophia.
Sophia didn’t look directly at her and lowered her head and laughed coldly, “Remember, never to
contact William in the future. Otherwise, I’ll let you have a fate worse than death!”
She finally stopped in front of Sophia and Mia gasped for air until she calms down. She slowly lifted up
the cheque and it almost slipped out of her fingers.
She looked at Sophia’s face and her fingers released and the cheque drifted to the floor. Sophia’s face
tensed up and raged furiously, “Mia, what’s the meaning of this?”
“It is obvious what I meant!” She breathed and spoke with difficulty. But she still was able to stubbornly
smile and said, “I only wish … to tell you, you and … William are demons. I will never… want to have
anything… to do with both of you!”
With an emphasis on the “anything”, she proudly walked out. The servant looked at the cheque,
“Missus, this…”
Sophia didn’t bother with it and said, “Since she doesn’t want, you can have it.”
The servant’s eyes immediately lit up and didn’t bother with Mia and gleefully picked up the cheque full
of gratitude. Sophia said to her impatiently, “There will be plenty of rewards awaiting you if you serve
me loyally! Go, don’t let William see it!”
“Yes yes yes.” The servant supported Mia and yelled ruthlessly, “Hurry up!”
James walked in with big strides and saw Sophia instead. He was dazed for a moment and asked,
“Why are you over here? Where’s Mia?”
Sophia laughed and turned around in her wheelchair and said nonchalantly, “She left.”
“Left? Where did she go? Her body is still very weak, she can’t leave! Why did she leave so suddenly?”
He was furious and saw that Sophia’s expression also began to change.
Sophia began to get worked up due to his series of questions and said angrily, “James, what is wrong
with you? Why are you upset with me because of her? In all these years you have never been angry
with me and now you had been smitten by her? Which part of her is so good that all of you can’t
forgo?”
“What nonsense are you saying!” James was now furious and squinted while looking at Sophia’s face,
“I am a doctor and it is natural that I am concerned for my patient. And for you, no matter what she
donated her bone marrow to you twice and this time she almost lost her life. She also had a
miscarriage, aren’t you concerned for her one bit?”
“How should I be concerned? I already gave her the money and that’s enough!” She continued her
tantrum and turned to leave in her wheelchair, disregarding James.
“Sophia!”
James’s expression turned into deep heartache and shouted. Sophia stopped with her back towards
him. The two of them descended into a strange silence.
After a while, James spoke, “Sophia, you’ve changed, how did you change to this state!”
“How did I change!” Sophia was suddenly agitated, turned around, and glared at James. She
emphasized each word, “James, don’t think that just because you took care of me all these years you
can say what you wish. I didn’t change. I’ve always been like this! You feel that I’ve changed is
because you don’t know me at all!”
“I…” he was speechless, James firmly grabbed his hair and his voice suddenly became deliberate,
“Regarding this issue with Mia, you had gone too far.”
