Trouble in Paradise

Chapter 0502

The banquet wasn't over yet, so Nicholas still hadn't left.

He found a quiet corner to pour himself a drink, although it wasn't clear what he was waiting for. I clearly didn't need him, and I even slapped him.

His hand paused mid-air as the glass hovered near his lips. For a moment, he seemed lost, but his gaze quickly sharpened as someone approached. His expression grew cold.

Pete had no trouble finding Nicholas. Nicholas had this indescribable presence. Wherever the coldest, loneliest spot in the hall was, that was where Nicholas could be found. Yet, people couldn't help but be drawn toward him. "You're like a goddamn ghost, haunting us everywhere we go!"

Pete didn't know where his strength came from. But somehow he grabbed Nicholas, who was much larger, by the collar and hoisted him off his stool.

Nicholas was caught off guard and stumbled as Pete dragged him up.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

"Looking for a fight?" Nicholas's voice was cold.

"Damn right! I've been wanting to beat your ass for years!"

Pete had been working out every day for the past few years to get stronger. The only reason Nicholas hadn't gotten this beating sooner was that Pete hadn't been able to take him before!

Nicholas smirked but didn't resist. He let Pete drag him into the elevator.

His back slammed against the sleek elevator wall with a loud thud. But instead of getting angry, he just laughed.

He waited silently for the elevator doors to close, sealing out the curious onlookers. He then said in a low voice, "I was thinking the same thing."

As soon as he finished speaking, he launched his fist.

Pete tilted his head just in time, barely clodging the blow. The punch only grazed a few strands of his hair, revealing his clear forehead. A surge of aggression spread across his face.

Nicholas' face darkened, clearly pleased with the opportunity. He hadn't thought of a better way to get a free pass to land a punch on Pete until now!

One was a business tycoon who could practically buy out Radiant City, and the other was a fashion mogul controlling the wallets of the world's wealthiest women.

Yet, here they were, fighting like they had a deep-seated grudge without a single word. Each punch landed solidly.

Pete's regular workouts had paid off, while Nicholas's body had been weakened over the years by illness, alcohol, and cigarettes. The two were evenly matched.

At some point, one of them slammed into the panel. The elevator descended from the first floor to the underground garage.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Nicholas kicked Pete, sending him flying two feet across the floor. Nicholas didn't come out unscathed either. His suit sleeve was torn. He ripped off his jacket and threw it on Pete. His gaze changed when he narrowed his eyes and looked at Pete.

"Pete, what gives you the right to fight me? Did you enjoy screwing my woman?"

"Your woman?" Pete roared, eyes bloodshot. "What makes you think Ariana is yours?"

A flash of pain flickered in Nicholas's eyes. He didn't even need to probe further. Pete had confirmed that he had really slept with me.

The realization pushed Nicholas over the edge. As Pete tried to get up, Nicholas shoved him back down, sitting on top of him. He swung his fist like a madman on Pete.

Nicholas's eyes were bloodshot from fury. He couldn't bear to imagine me being with Pete. He couldn't take it!

Did Pete get to see my dazed watery eyes and flushed cheeks? Did he get to see my rosy skin when I was aroused? Did he ever see the way I looked when I was completely lost in the moment?

Every punch was accompanied by the same burning question.
