In the Auction House

"Bowman, you're an interesting person," Mrs. Cather rarely complimented people, but she had a good impression of Ranita - beautiful, smart and with the air of a wealthy family.

But Mrs. Cather learned that Ranita came from an ordinary background, so she was very surprised.

"Thank you for your compliment, Mrs. Cather! I'm glad you're satisfied with our meeting!" Ranita maintained her working-class attitude, respectful and considerate, "Mr. Stuart has booked a restaurant for lunch and I hope you enjoy your meal."

Brendon only had one hour of lunch break and then had to attend a remote meeting, so he needed to rush back to the company immediately.

When she heard that Ranita couldn't accompany them for lunch, Mrs. Cather expressed regret and gave her a personal business card before leaving.

"You seem quite popular!" Brendon walked forward briskly and glanced at the business card in her hand out of the corner of his eye, "It seems like even without Stuart's Corp., you won't lack projects."

Did Brendon just find out?

It wasn't Ranita bragging - when she graduated years ago, her teacher recommended her to go to the Foreign Affairs Institute but she refused. Now after several years' experience in translation circles, she'd gained some reputation herself.

Working hard enough and even without Stuart's Corp.'s cooperation, it was still possible to make money.

"Mr. Stuart, you must be joking! This group only has me who can speak some hometown dialect with Mrs. Cather. It was just giving face." Ranita put away the business card into her bag while looking at Brendon lightly, "Mr. Stuart, the termination contract is already being processed. This doesn't violate any terms, does it?"

Brendon didn't know what to say.

Why was this woman so petty!?

Ranita had lunch in the studio. As soon as she took two bites of the food, Olivia knocked on her office door anxiously, "Ranita, Mia called earlier saying that she's stuck on highway now, and there's no way she can make it for her project this afternoon. She wants you to help her out."

When starting up their studio, Ranita had little experience so pulled together Mia Griffiths, a senior schoolmate whom she was close with, and Carl Merrill to form the team together.

All of them were partners in the studio, but each had their own projects to handle. Of course, in case of emergencies, they would help each other out.

"We agreed on two o'clock..." Olivia was both hesitant and anxious. "Mia is really something else. She's only calling now and it's so rushed!"

"I know! Let me tidy up a bit and you send me the relevant information!" Ranita packed her things and received the location from Olivia when she arrived at the parking garage.

Ranita took a look and suddenly remembered that Sugar Media was Shannon's signing company!

She suddenly didn't want to go anymore.

Just then, Mia sent over relevant information along with an apology call, "Ranita, I'm really sorry! I never thought this kind of emergency would happen!"

"Mia, don't worry! I'll complete this project well!" What else could Ranita say? If Mia broke the contract not only would she have to compensate but it would also affect her reputation.

In their line of work, both strength and reputation were very important.

Ranita read through the materials while driving. When she arrived at Sugar Media's building, she had almost finished reading everything and had an idea in mind. © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

This time she was responsible for receiving an Italian composer Arthur Semeraro who had an artist's common flaw - nitpicking. But fortunately, according to contract terms her work scope was limited to just two days' negotiations with Sugar Media. Everything else would be handled by Arthur's assistant.

"Phew!" Ranita took a deep breath before getting off - little did she know that Shannon was also opening her car door across from hers...
