The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 59

Chapter 59

Tonight, Cordelia originally planned to stay in her dorm room.

However, she spilled the beans about getting married, which is a breach of contract that requires a

penalty. So instead of receiving half a million dollars, she might have to return the money she

previously received.

Facing the current situation, all she could do was apologizing to Ronan.

Ronan walked up to his car, seeing Cordelia standing by it.

He paused, "What's the deal, Ms. Haselwood?"

"Mr. Evans, I spent last night in my mom's ward. The caregiver was too busy and, as a daughter, I had

to help out, right?" Cordelia awkwardly laughed.

"So?" Ronan took out a cigarette, leaning against the car door while smoking.

"I don't want Barney to worry, so I'm coming home with you now."

"Do you take the Evans family for granted? Come and go as you please, without saying a word?"

Even if Cordelia had a thousand rebuttals waiting, this time she was wrong.

She violated the agreement, which might lead to a considerable loss, as Ronan has the final say in

interpreting the contract.

She lowered her gaze to her feet, not saying a word, looking somewhat innocent.

Ronan was smoking, looking at her, "You going back just like that seems a bit childish, don't you think?

You should at least make a vow, like no more leaving without notice."

Cordelia thought for a moment, raising one hand, "I swear, if I ever want to leave the Evans family, I

must inform Mr. Evans in advance and only leave with his consent."

"Also."

"Also what?" Cordelia looked puzzled.

"Don't go around flirting with men."

"I didn't." Cordelia was a bit nervous. Did he have to use the word "flirt"?

Ronan put out his cigarette, threw it on the ground, and turned to get in the car.

This meant "no further discussion."

"Mr. Evans," Cordelia stepped forward to stop Ronan, "I swear, I won't flirt with other men."

Cordelia felt somewhat self-deprecating saying the word "flirt", but she had no other choice.

"Get in."

Only then did Cordelia let out a long sigh of relief.

"What about the marriage certificate? Not planning to return it?" Ronan asked Cordelia.

"The marriage certificate? It's in my dorm room."

Ronan took out his phone and called Emily, the HR Department Director, asking her to vacate the dorm

room Cordelia was staying in, room 1507, and arrange for a new person to move in.

Upon hearing this, Cordelia panicked. It was so unexpected. She just took out the marriage certificate

and didn't do anything else, and now she was losing her dorm room.

Ronan didn't mind everyone knowing about his marriage. He took things as them came.

"Yes, she's married, so she doesn't need the dorm room anymore," Ronan was still on the phone with

the HR Director. "Don't bother to inform her separately, she's in my car, and I'm going with her to pack

up."

After hanging up, he turned to Cordelia, "There will be a new person to live in your dorm room instead

of you, so go pack up your stuff."

Cordelia wore a look of resignation.

The car left the parking lot, stopping at the dorm building across from the company.

Cordelia went to her room like a lost puppy.

Seeing Cordelia return, Brooklyn asked anxiously, "Did he do anything to you?" NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

Cordelia frowned, stuffing all her belongings into her suitcase, "I lost my dorm room. He told me to

move out, and you're going to have a new roommate."

Brooklyn sat on the bed, annoyed at her own mistake and anxious about the new person. She didn't

know if she would be easy to get along with.

"I told you before, arguing with him will get you nowhere," Brooklyn said.

Cordelia felt the truth of the words, but said nothing.

Back at Pearl Palms, Cordelia went to her room to do homework.

Ronan was leaning against the headboard reading, and Cordelia ran into a problem so she took her

book and went to ask him.

"Mr. Evans, I can't figure out this problem, can you explain it to me?" Cordelia went to Ronan, bending

down, ready to learn humbly.

"How to handle a PR crisis? Haven't I already explained this? You didn't sleep in class, why don't you

understand?" Ronan looked at Cordelia with a slight frown.

He really knew how to kick a girl when she's down.

He stepped on Cordelia's dignity and hurt her feelings over and over again, even settling old scores.

The light from behind shone on Cordelia's face, making her complexion rosy. Her ears looked

transparent under the light.

She gently licked her lips, not daring to look at Ronan who was seriously staring at the book, "Could

you help explain it to me?"

"What's in it for me?" Ronan's gaze landed straight on her face.

"Um, what do you want?" Cordelia held back her anger.

"Serve me well tonight. You've been driving me crazy these past few days."

After a while, she licked her lips, "Alright."

Only then did Ronan explain in detail.
