Chapter Seven
Alex
After I got to Philadelphia, I drove to my in law's house but I didn't dare to go inside, I waited outside in
the car for hours but nobody came, I could see figures moving upstairs but none of them looked like
Tracy, I felt bad that I couldn't even get out of the car and boldly ask of her from them.
I wonder how Tracy will be feeling, I wonder how she is, how long she has left Florida? because I could
see she didn't read any of the letters I sent.
My thoughts were jumbled up, I was so exhausted that I didn't know when I fell asleep in the car.
I woke up startled as a car sped past me, I was so startled that my heart was beating fast and hard
against my chest, I sighed and looked for any sign of anyone but nobody was in sight so I decided to
drive to the cafe she used to work, hoping I would get any information at all.
When I got there, I ordered a latte and waited for the attendant to deliver it to the table, thankfully she
looked friendly and I could talk to her.
"Your latte sir."
"Thank you, would you mind if I ask you a question?" I asked before she could leave
"No, I won't."
"I was wondering if you know anyone that goes by the name Tracy."
"Oh Tracy, she quitted a few days ago." She replied and I heaved a sigh of relief, thankfully she's here
all I need to do is find her.
"Thank you."
"You are welcome." She said going back to work, I paid for the coffee adding huge tips for the attendant
and I left there immediately.
I got into my car and called one of my close friends a private detective who is also involved in real
estate, he was the one that helped me get accommodation when I came here years ago, I need his
help again.
"Hello?"
"Alex, my man, how are you doing?"
"I'm fine, for now."
"What's the wrong man?" He asked worry detectable in his voice
"I need your help right now, I'd explain later, is the house you got for me when I came the last time still
available?"
"No but I can arrange something for you, wait, man are you in Philadelphia?"
"Yes."
"I'd send you location to the place now, you need to explain everything to me."
"Okay"
I hung up and the location came in a few minutes later I drove as fast as I could and I got there twenty
minutes later.
The house looked okay, The security guard opened the door and I drove in, James must have told
them I was coming.
"Mr. Johnson?, Mr. Paige is waiting inside." Another guard said and I nodded Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Thank you." He led the way and I followed
"Brian my man!" James said hugging me as I entered
"How are you doing bro?" I asked hugging him back
"I'm fine, now sit and tell me what's wrong." He said and we took our sit
"Do you remember six years ago, I left Philadelphia without notice."
"Yes, you said it was nothing much when I eventually got to talk to you."
"Well, it's something much," I said, then I told everything to him from the very beginning, if James is
going to help me find Tracy I figured I might as well tell him everything.
"Wait you got married?!" He asked shocked
"Yeah well, very few people know about that."
"Why are you just telling me this?, You could have allowed her to come back to Philadelphia, I would
have watched over her."
"Well I didn't think about that, I never knew my dad would ask so much from me."
"Still, you could have hired someone to watch over her!"
"I couldn't risk my dad finding out, he made me promise not to get in touch or communicate with her,
you know how ruthless he is."
"That is true, what do we do now?" He asked
"Help me find her, please, help me find my wife," I begged desperately
"I'd be glad, let me make a few calls, what's her name again?."
"Tracy Jones, or Tracy Johnson."
"Man this is messed." He said as he left and I couldn't agree more.
I started looking around the house, it looked well furnished and it look good, I decided to ask James if is
for sale, I'd like to bring Tracy here, we can start a family here and it is not far from the company.
Speaking of the company, I was supposed to go there and check the list of qualified applicants that
want to work in the company but then I want to find Tracy first, work can wait.
"We found her!" James said coming back into the sitting room
"You did?" I asked nervously all of a sudden
"Well, I found where she lives at the moment, it's an apartment and it is not far from here."
"Thanks, bro, I appreciate it."
"You are welcome now let's go get your wife."
"You must be exhausted, I'd drive." He said when we got to the parking lot and I didn't argue.
We got there thirty minutes later, unfortunately, nobody was at home, we waited for hours but nobody
answered the door.
"Do you think she went to work?" He asked and I shook my head
"I'm not sure, but I'd love to be here when she comes back so you can leave I'd get update you," I said
leaning on the wall
"No way, I'm not leaving you alone now, if she gets back and she's mad at you, I'd be here to plead for
you, so don't worry about it, I'd be right here," James said and I smiled, he is one of the real ones.
Unfortunately, we waited for hours, but Tracy never came back, we eventually gave up a few minutes
before midnight, we left but I promised to come back early the next morning.
