The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 1277

Ronald, the grandson who Old Mr. Malone had painstakingly raised, had turned out to be head over heels in love? And for matters as significant as marriage, he dared to defy his will?

Mrs. Malone, ever the peacemaker, fanned the flames with a smile, "Dad, don't be upset. Ronald's a grown man, and he knows what he's doing. I think Ms. Malone is quite the catch - good-looking and capable. They complement each other well." Old Mr. Malone knew exactly what she was up to and scoffed, "I know the game you're playing all too well. I'm warning you, Ronald is my chosen successor, and that's not going to change!"

Mrs. Malone, scolded, turned pale and bit her tongue in dissatisfaction.

...

Leaving the Malone family estate, Kari turned to Ronald.

"Are you really going against your grandfather on this?"

Kari didn't wish for a fallout between Ronald and Old Mr. Malone. After all, despite the old man's ulterior motives, if it weren't for him, Ronald might not have been alive. "Grandpa is stubborn and set in his ways; he won't accept this easily."

Ronald knew every nook and cranny of the Malone family; despite their glamorous appearance, each member was a tough nut to crack.

"Don't worry, even without the Malone family, I can still give you the best life."

Seeing Ronald trying to keep up a brave front, Kari felt a pang in her heart, "If one day you lose everything, you'll still have me."

She was earnest, "I have shares in my studio, and I get dividends. It might not be lavish, but we won't be wanting for anything." Ronald felt a sweet warmth at her words, as if coated in honey.

"Then, I'll be the stay-at-home husband, cooking three meals a day for Kari," he offered.

Kari happily agreed.

After getting the green light from the Malone family, Kari and Ronald officially moved in together.

Ronald had already bought a house, decorated in Kari's favorite contemporary style.

Willa, not opposed to them living together, still took Kari aside for a word of caution.

Regardless of the times, being pregnant before marriage was still frowned upon, especially for young women not yet ready for parenthood.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

Kari's cheeks flushed with embarrassment, "Mom, I understand."

On moving day, Hannah, along with Derek Bishop and a few key members from the studio, came over for a housewarming.

Hannah, pregnant and lively, brought a slew of gifts.

Derek, trailing behind her with the presents, urged, "Hannah, slow down—"

Kari didn't have many friends.

Apart from Brittany and Hannah, it was just a few core members from her studio.

She and Ronald were more than happy to have them over for the housewarming, preparing a feast in just two hours with their combined culinary skills.

Upon their arrival, Derek's load of gifts stunned Kari.

"Hannah, this is more than just 'some' gifts!"

Exhausted, Derek set down the gifts but kept a watchful eye on Hannah, "Hannah, please sit."

Since becoming pregnant, Hannah had turned into a protected species, constantly shadowed by Derek, much to her annoyance, "Derek, I'm pregnant, not ill. Don't treat me like a panda!"

Derek, ever patient, reassured her, "Pregnant or not, I'd still want to be

with you every day, just as we

promised - to be together always."

Caught off guard by his cheesy declaration in front of Kari, Hannah shot him a glare, "Shut up!"

But her tone softened considerably.

Clearly, she was a sucker for such sweet nothings.
