Chapter 1756 He Wouldn't Be Able To Show Up
Chapter 1756 He Wouldn't Be Able To Show Up
After Black was done speaking, he checked his watch, and he flashed it at Jason. With pursed lips, he
said, "You're running out of time!"
"I can't part with Holley," Jason said with resolution. But anyone could guess he was extremely scared.
"Jason, think about it. If those usurers catch you again, what will they do to you? Have you ever
considered that? You might be dumped into the ocean, and left to be eaten by the sharks," Black
pressed Jason, leaving him no choice.
After listening to those daunting words, Jason didn't know what to say. He merely lowered his head and
remained silent. Black squatted so that he could look into Jason's eyes. He continued, "It is always
better to look before you leap. Which is more important, your wife or your life?"
Jason's face turned dreary after he heard Black's question.
Out of the blue, something occurred to him. 'How does Black know so much about me? Something is
off the mark here!' Jason thought curiously.
This thought began to make Jason furious. He glared at Black and yelled at him, "You bastard! I knew
it! You asked that woman to seduce me, didn't you?!"
"Jason, you are acting very rashly!" Black replied with a mock-serious expression. Black wasn't afraid
of Jason, so he wouldn't hide anything from him. If anything, he was proud to be exposed.
"You…"
Jason lost control. He clenched his fists, ready to hit Black. But Black was quicker than him. Before
Jason could do anything, Black's subordinates had grabbed Jason's arms. Now he was made to kneel
on the ground. With their firm grasp, Jason couldn't move an inch. In this helpless state, he continued
to glare at Black.
"You don't have much time now. Have you made up your mind? I'm counting to three. If I don't get an
answer, I'm leaving." Black flashed him a cold glance. Before Jason could say anything, Black began
counting.
"One, two, three."
"Fine, I quit. I promise I will leave Holley. But you have to give me some money. I will need it to
abscond." Jason was afraid that Black would hand him over to the usurers, so he gave a prompt reply.
Moreover, Jason knew Ferry well. He hated gamblers more than anyone else. He especially loathed
those who borrowed money from usurers. If Ferry found out that Jason had borrowed money from
usurers, his life wouldn't be spared. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
But now that he had got himself in trouble, he had no choice but to accept Black's offer. In this dire
situation, he knew this was the best option for him.
"Great, that sounds like a wise decision. Here is one million. Take this money and get the hell out of
here. I don't want to see you ever again. You know what I am capable of, so don't try to act smart. Do
you understand?"
Black said and threw the cheque at Jason.
Dumbfounded, Jason looked at Black in disbelief. "Mr. Hu, are you kidding me? I am aware you come
from a wealthy family. I also know you love Holley dearly. One million won't be enough. Is that how little
Holley means to you?"
Jason was very disappointed with what Black had offered. He was going to abscond. And in this
journey, one million wouldn't be enough to support him. He wouldn't even be able to get out of this city
with that amount.
But Black couldn't care less about Jason's distress. He took a cigarette out of his pocket and said,
"Jason, I spent 10 million to save you. Did you forget that? I am being very generous to you. If you
think it's too little, fine, I advise you to leave with nothing."
Although Black was asking Jason to leave, he had clearly gained the upper hand. And he didn't care
whether Jason would listen to him and leave. If his offer was declined, Black was more than ready to
kill Jason.
Jason composed himself as he could tell from Black's face that he was serious. He knew he couldn't
ask for more from Black. Even though one million wasn't enough for him, he told himself that something
was better than nothing.
"Fine, I will take it. But you need to ask your people to see me off!"
This was the last thing Jason wanted from Black. In his mind, he had finally accepted his defeat.
"No problem," replied Black looking satisfied with his victory. It was like lifting a finger for Black, so he
agreed without any hesitation.
Black then gestured to one of his subordinates and said to him, "See him off!"
"Yes, Mr. Hu."
The subordinate took Jason away and left.
Since his job was done, Black was so elated. As soon as Jason was out of his sight, he headed to the
Civil Affairs Bureau.
In Holley's home, she was turning and tossing on her bed.
Just when she was about to sleep, her phone rang. Jason kept on calling her last night, so she couldn't
fall asleep at all. She had to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau today; hence, it would be necessary to
sacrifice sleep.
For a second, Holley thought Jason's call had just been a dream. But when she checked her phone,
she realized he had indeed called her and asked for money. Her mind was a complete mess.
'Why would Jason owe someone money? Isn't he working for Ferry? Who would dare to threaten
Jason?'
Holley thought to herself, confused. But then she decided to shake it off.
She already had a lot on her plate, and Jason was the last thing she needed to worry about. Just the
mere thought of marrying Jason made her feel awful.
Holley went to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth. She looked at herself in the mirror.
For a while, she stood there and then noticed how pale she looked. Thinking about Jason, the Civil
Affairs Bureau, and this marriage put her into a sour mood. Sometimes, she really wanted to grab a
knife and stab Ferry, even though it meant that she would go to jail.
'Am I going to spend the rest of my life being Ferry's puppet?' she thought with sadness.
A bitter smile crept on her face. She wondered how she ended up like this.
All her life, all that she had dreamed of was marrying a rich man. Her goal was to live a luxurious life.
But somehow now she was destined to marry a loser. "How ironic!" she mumbled with agony.
Now that she had unleashed her emotions, there was no going back. She lost it and began to cry.
Tears started rolling down her soft cheeks. Quickly, she grabbed a tissue and wiped the tears off from
her face. After taking a deep breath, she took her purse and left.
Shortly, she started her journey to the Civil Affairs Bureau.
When Holley got out of her car and walked towards the bureau, she saw someone who she hadn't
expected to see at all.
'Black?
Why is he here?'
Holley freaked out. She thought today was the toughest day she had ever had. And the last thing she
wanted was to see Black in this embarrassing moment. Wracking her brain, she started to think of a
way to escape this meeting.
After thinking about it, Holley realized with certainty that Black must know that she and Jason were
getting married.
Feeling defeated, she stood there. After all, there wasn't much she could do about it. 'Perhaps, after
seeing me get married to another man, Black might finally lose faith in me. Let him move on, ' she
thought with a sigh.
"Holley!" Holly was lost in thought when Black called her name.
"Why are you here?" Holley forced a smile.
"Are you waiting for someone?" Black looked into Holley's eyes and asked seriously.
Holley nodded her head and said, "I'm waiting for Jason. I am getting married to him today."
"Getting married to him?" Black smiled coldly and said, "I'm afraid that he won't be able to show up
today."
