Chapter 183
Chapter 183
Aurora was confused but slowly pulled away, at the same time issuing a firm warning. “Please don’t do that again. Your fiancé is here.”
Taken aback by her words, he settled on the most shameless excuse he could think of. “Did you forget my lunch?”
Indeed, she had forgotten, but would his fiancé like that? “Sorry. I thought your fiancé would do that.”
Alpha Calhoun smiled, knowing he had an edge. “I made it clear that nothing changes between us. Besides, she doesn’t know how to cook.”
Aurora swallowed the pain crushing her heart. “Alright. I will go make your lunch.”
She ran ahead of him, but he chased after her. Arriving at the pack house together, Asena was upset.
Cal said he was busy but had returned with this nerd. “What is she doing here?” Asena did not like Aurora, and it was clear in her demeanor.
“She lives here,” Alpha Calhoun said. Aurora moved around him and went to the kitchen, not wanting to be caught up in their banter.
Many thoughts played on Asena’s mind as she began to wonder if Cal was in a relationship with Aurora. Who was she anyway?
Strangely, none of his call girls were around, and she did not have the guts to ask him about it, as it might make him think that she encouraged it.
“Why should she live here?” Asena asked in a displeased tone. Alpha Calhoun replied slowly, afraid he might lose control and yell at her.
That would upset her, and he did not want that. “Because she’s my assistant, so this is where she needs to be.”
Asena’s eyes turned glassy as she combed her hair with her fingers, losing her appetite from the food she ordered.
“Cal, I’m not doing this. Get her a house among the pack residents,” she suggested, but Cal did not want Aurora away from him, especially not when his kid brother was coming.
Taking deep breaths, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her forehead. “Asena, she lives here, and that is final. If you are not comfortable, with your mom until after the coronation.”
Asena pushed him away. How could his voice be so soft and yet his words so painful? “Cal, are you choosing her over me?”
go live
Cal pulled her back into his arms once again before speaking. “No. Aurora works hard and protected the pack. You should be making yourself useful at the hospital,” he pointed out. Asena realized she was losing focus.
Alpha Calhoun was very interested in her profession, and she had to take charge of the pack hospital soon.
“But I just arrived, and I ordered food for us,” she pointed at the varieties of delicacies on the table, which Alpha Cal had not eaten since Aurora began cooking for him.
Somehow, they smelled funny, irrespective of the five–star restaurant presentation. He led her to the table, pulled a chair for her, and sat beside her.
“I told you not to order for me.”
Asena was about to convince him when Aurora came out of the kitchen with a tray in hand, setting it on the dining table before dishing them for Alpha Calhoun.
She already had most of the ingredients prepared when she made breakfast in the morning, so it made getting lunch ready faster.
Asena watched with raised brows as she finished serving the food and sat opposite Alpha Calhoun.
All the varieties of dishes ordered by Asena remained for her alone, but there was something more annoying to her.
“Cal, why is she eating with us?” she asked, referring to Aurora.
Alpha Calhoun was beginning to get annoyed with all the questions, thinking it best to explain Aurora’s role well enough.
“She earned it, so I promoted her to eating with us. She is also responsible for cleaning my room and my bath. She equally helps with training and takes care of most of the pack’s finances.” Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
Thinking through it, Aurora was technically doing a beta’s job, except for cleaning Alpha Cal’s room part. Asena felt that she needed to put things in place, or everything would spiral out of control.
“Since I’m here, she should not cook nor clean your room anymore. I will do all that,” Asena said seriously.
She had only entered his room a few times before leaving for school and found it boring. With another woman in her space, she had to find interest

in it, except,”
“Then how will you get time to be at the hospital to attend to emergencies?” Cal asked her, squeezing her hand a little. Asena was gritting her teeth together, hating Aurora’s presence.
“Then I will get you somebody else. Anybody but not her.”
Alpha Cal would equally not just let anybody into his room, making it clear. “Asena, we are engaged, but I am still the Alpha. Please don’t tell me what to do next time.”
Asena was embarrassed for Alpha Cal putting her straight in front of Aurora and did not speak anymore.
This was too much for her, and she felt the need to involve her mother. When lunch was over, Aurora went to nap in her room. In the evening, she prepared a light supper because Alpha Cal never liked heavy food at night.
She was surprised to see him formally dressed at the table but was glad Asena was not there.
“Going somewhere?” she asked, wondering if she made a mistake. He usually would tell her without her asking.
Alpha Cal could not hold her gaze for whatever reason he could not explain.
“Yes. To the airport.”
Aurora was surprised. The guests he went to receive on his own were usually Alphas, so which of them was coming this time?
“A guest?”
Holding her gaze, he explained earnestly. “Aurora, my brother is coming tonight, and I’m going to pick him up at the airport. His name is Maximus Davis, and he’s bad news. Please stay away from him, will you?”
Aurora had heard rumors about Alpha Calhoun’s brother, knowing that they never held each other’s gazes. It was understandable that he wanted her to stay away from him. “Sure.”
“Good.” Alpha Calhoun smiled, slightly nervous as Asena appeared before him, all dressed in jeans and a blazer. There was a white blouse inside, matching her high heels.
“Cal, I’m ready.”
Alpha Cal frowned a little, annoyed by the intrusion. “I never said I was going with you, and you haven’t even neared the hospital.”
Aseña wanted every chance to be close to him. “Goddess Cal, it’s a long flight. Can’t I catch my breath with some rest? I can sleep in the car for as long as you are there.”
She was staring daringly at Aurora as she spoke, which Alpha Cal did not notice but felt he was being too hard on her. “Sorry.”
“Anyway, I’m bored, so I’m coming with you.” She pulled a chair and sat beside him.
“Okay, have you eaten yet? You can have some of this soup. It’s very delicious,” Alpha Cal said and scooped a spoonful into his mouth, not expecting Asena to accept the offer, but she did.
“Sure.”
Aurora knew that Asena was up to something but refrained from saying it, watching as Asena scooped a small amount of soup into her mouth and instantly spat it out.
“What is that?” Alpha Cal asked, upset.
“It’s horrible. How do you eat that?” she said angrily, Aurora’s fingers tightened together. She was losing her patience.
