Chapter 58 Sebastian, You Are so Childish!
Chapter 58 Sebastian, You Are so Childish!
"Not the suitable one? So you’re the suitable one to show up with Archibald for a charity event?" Sebastian snorted.
Lillian was stunned and looked up at Sebastian at once, her mind racing. So he meant that she shouldn’t have attended the charity event with Archibald last time? Therefore, the reason he would take her to the anniversary celebration on all accounts this time and walk down the red carpet with her was to let everybody know that she showed up for the celebration as his female companion?
Was he challenging and competing with Archibald?
Staring at Sebastian, Lillian burst out laughing, sarcastically. She blurted, "Sebastian, you’re so childish!"
"Lillian Spencer!" Sebastian naturally wouldn’t stand her talking to him like this. He was even ashamed into anger since she could see through his mind. That was right. He couldn’t bear the fact that she was Archibald’s female companion! Lillian was his wife, and how dared she show up in public with some other man?
She should have sat around at home like before!
"Listen, you’re not going to any events with Archibald in the future!" Sebastian warned savagely, not realizing when he had started to pay attention to her schedule.
"Sebastian, I am a free person."
"I’m not restricting your freedom. I’m just telling you that you’re not allowed to be Archibald’s female companion!"
"Sebastian, I find that you have psychological problems. You can have Joanna, but I can’t have any man?"
"This is your life as the wife of a Palmer’s!"
They were yelling louder and louder. Glaring at each other, both of them wouldn’t back off until Sebastian shouted the last sentence at her. At that moment, Lillian seemed to be hit hard by something head-on!
Her life, this was her life!
From the very beginning, from the very instant Lillian had consented to marry into the Palmer family, everything was destined. She would never forget Sebastian’s indifferent and disdainful look the first time they had met.
Later Lillian had known that the woman Sebastian had wanted to marry was Joanna. It was her appearance that had dragged the three of them into the chaotic situation today.
The assistant knocked on the car window, telling them that the disturbances outside was already quelled and that they could go out.
The two, in a stalemate, shook off the bad mood, cooled down a bit and got off the car again.
Just when Sebastian helped Lillian out, she whispered in his ear all of a sudden, "Sebastian, you yourself was to blame for not being able to marry Joanna back then."
Lillian said and showed a perfect smile to greet the people waiting for them to walk down the red carpet without looking at him.
However, Sebastian was stunned after hearing her words, and the smile froze on his face.
She was scoffing at him. After all, Lillian was not to blame for the fact that he was unable to marry the woman he loved. The only one to blame was he himself!
His hand was holding hers. At this moment, Sebastian wished he could crush her hand. What a shameless woman! How dared she laugh at him like this? If she hadn’t been a woman greedy for the wealth of the Palmer family and promised his grandfather, would he have married her?
Should Sebastian have violated his grandfather? He would never go against the elders!
"Sebastian, you’re not walking?" Seeing that he stood still, Lillian squinted at him, ignoring the coldness in his eyes intentionally. She knew her words would provoke him.
But Lillian was right. Since Joanna was the woman he loved and must marry, would things have turned out like this if he, as a man, hadn’t compromised?
In fact, Lillian admired Joanna’s courage. Joanna had actually taken so many pills for Sebastian, but what about Sebastian? He had just made Joanna popular. What else had he done for her?
If Sebastian had been a little braver, anything could have happened, right?
Sebastian found himself distracted when hearing Lillian reminding him. He really was enraged by her words! He recovered impatiently, and didn’t hold her hand anymore, but grabbed her arm to hold his.
That was a gentleman style pose. Lillian held his arm, looking lovable and sweet, but in an affected way.
The long red carpet was tidy, with enthusiastic reporters on both sides. What happened a while ago was enough for them to make front-page news tomorrow, while now, the two of them were walking down the red carpet arm in arm, which was another major story.
"This Lillian Spencer’s really got something. She took the place of Sebastian’s long-time girlfriend."
"I don’t think she looks stunning, and she’s not as sexy as Joanna. What does Sebastian like about her?"
"Lillian and Joanna are two different types of women. Maybe she’s good in bed, or she won’t have both Sebastian and Archibald pay attention to her at the same time."
The two reporters among the crowd talked secretly and exchanged knowing smiles, then staring at Lillian meaningfully. They looked Lillian up and down. Her figure was not bad, but the strapless gown was too conservative.
"By the way, where is Joanna?"
"How dare she show up in such situation? It’s shameful for her to be suddenly dumped by her backer! She’s probably weeping at home."
"Well, if it were me, I would definitely teach this shameless woman a lesson in public!"
"That’s very bitchy."
Meanwhile, the two of them had already walked to the middle of the red carpet, and soon Lillian would be surrounded by the crowd, so she tried her best to keep that smile next to Sebastian.
Suddenly, a reporter stretched out her arm with a microphone in her hand, asking loudly, "Lillian, since you’ve taken the place of Joanna today, don’t you feel ashamed?"
Although Lillian was astonished, her facial expression remained the same. After what the fans had done to her, she was mentally prepared, and ready to answer the reporters’ tricky questions at any time.
However, before Lillian could speak, Sebastian answered first with a frown, "It was me who invited Lillian to the anniversary celebration. Nobody has ever taken anyone else’s place."
Sebastian’s words clearly meant that he wanted to bring Lillian into his media company and that was why she was invited to the anniversary celebration exceptionally. Meanwhile, Joanna still kept her place.
It was the crowd’s business to choose whether to believe Sebastian’s words or not. Sebastian didn’t intend to reveal too much information, and was about to take Lillian straight into the hall, because his goal was already reached.
Lillian didn’t think she was able to handle those reporters’ tough questions, so it couldn’t be better if she didn’t need to say anything.
Just when the two of them were about to end the red carpet show, a sudden squeal of brakes came from the other end of the red carpet. Everyone looked back and exclaimed. Which superstar had come?
At the end of the red carpet, the two of them also looked back in confusion. At the other end of the 100- meter long red carpet, a white Spyker C8 stopped there, full of personality and power.
Before the driver got off, the car itself had already become the star.
Lillian’s smile froze when she caught sight of that car. NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
Sebastian saw Lillian’s smile vanished the moment she saw that car. His eyes gleaming, suddenly, he seemed to realize something, and squinted at that white car.
The baffled reporters and fans assumed that it was just some superstar arriving, and were on the tiptoe of expectation, wanting to catch an early glimpse of the person in the car.
The reporters were naturally fully prepared. Once the person in the car got off, what greeted him would be dazzling flashes.
The car door was pushed open and everyone widened his eyes, looking without blinking. Then, a tall and slender male figure appeared in front of the crowd. He was wearing a vintage pinstriped shirt with the top two buttons unfastened, a pair of cropped casual jeans, and a pair of brown leather casuals. His shirt was tucked into his pants, which made him look even more tall and straight.
However, judging from his casual look, he didn’t seem to have come for the red carpet at all, but appeared as if he was going to have a date with someone, or take a holiday?
