Chapter 435
Chapter 435
Tears welled up in Mia’s eyes again. The telltale sign of her cry was a sniffle. And just like that, Andre
knew she was on the verge of another tearful episode. He lifted his gaze to his wife’s reddened eyes.
“Hold it back, no crying.”
Mia pouted, feeling wronged that she wasn’t even allowed to cry.
Andre, unable to bear her distress, tenderly massaged her foot. “Does it hurt to walk?” He asked.
Mia nodded.
Standing up, Andre asked, “Where else does it hurt?”
Mia began to spill out her complaints. “My stomach hurts. My gums are bleeding, and I’ve been having
nightmares that scare me.” The most annoying thing was, “I can’t cover myself with the blanket if I prop
up my legs. But without propping up my legs, it’s uncomfortable to lie with the blanket. The pillow is too
low for me to prop up my legs comfortably.” As Mia rambled on, she somehow made it seem like all her
issues were justified.
Andre, who usually could keep a cool facade, couldn’t help but chuckle at his wife’s words. When they
shared a bed at the Cedillo family home, he had served as a leg rest for his petite wife. She had
become so accustomed to this arrangement that she found it hard to adapt without it. It did sound
rather pitiful.
“Not even a day apart and you’ve developed all these ailments?”
Mia lowered her head, looking dejected. “Hmm, do you think I’m being too dramatic?”
Andre knew he could no longer intimidate her. So, he gently pinched her nose in an affectionate
manner. “A little bit.” He paused for a moment before adding, “But I happen to like it.”
Mia looked up abruptly. Her eyes met her husband’s. His eyes were filled with amusement and
affection. Overcome with emotion, Mia threw herself into Andre’s arms.
After waiting for nearly fifteen minutes downstairs, Madison saw the couple emerge from their
bedroom. It seemed they had a good talk.
Upon reaching downstairs, Andre said to Madison, “Mia isn’t feeling too well. I’m taking her to the
hospital for a check-up.”
“She’s just putting on an act, right?”
Mia was speechless. Suddenly, she felt her mother was as annoying as Leo.
Andre let out a soft laugh, looking at his wife who seemed to have turned to stone. “No, not like that.”
Mia moved closer to her husband’s side, grateful to have someone who believed in her.
At the hospital, after getting a check-up, the doctor gave Mia some advice and asked her companion to
take her home.
“Which home?”
Mia replied, “My parents’.”
Andre drove out of the hospital, grilling his wife about her diet and sleep schedule, “You never
mentioned your teeth hurting before. How come they suddenly started bleeding?”
“I don’t know why either.”
Most people would visit a dentist before deciding to have a baby. Mia, however, hadn’t planned her
pregnancy. Therefore, she hadn’t undergone many necessary check-ups. The sudden gum bleeding
had surprised her too, but thankfully, it wasn’t severe.
Back at the Irvin household, Andre became Mia’s dedicated manservant. He held a cup of mouthwash This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
while she gargled, always attentive to her needs.
“Tomorrow, I’ll get you the softest toothbrush. The ones at home should be thrown away. Don’t forget
the doctor’s advice. You have to rinse your mouth after every meal, no slacking.”
Mia nodded in understanding. Her mouth was still full of mouthwash.
“You have to take your Vitamin C. The juice I made for you is of the highest quality. Don’t waste it.”
Mia nodded again, making a muffled sound of agreement.
“You’ve rinsed long enough. You can spit it out now.”
Mia spat out the mouthwash into the sink. “Honey, I need to change my toothpaste too.”
“Alright.”
On seeing her daughter’s medical report, Madison grew concerned. “You didn’t complain about being
unwell yesterday. How come you’re suddenly sick after seeing Andre?”
Fresh from gargling, Mia was in the mood for a chat. “I felt something off in my mouth yesterday, but
didn’t realize it was bleeding until this morning when I brushed my teeth.”
“And your stomachache?” Madison asked, “Is the baby alright?”
Mia reassured her mother, “We’re both fine. Don’t worry.”
Andre was particularly concerned about his wife’s nightmares. Could they be related to his
punishment?
“Honey, I dreamt of a golden snake coiling around me, trying to eat me. I was crying out in fear in the
middle of it all. The snake even flew up to the sky to scare me. Its head was taller than me.”
Andre raised an eyebrow. “Snakes can fly?”
Madison cut in, “Fool, that’s a dragon. Your dream is a sign that you’re carrying a boy.”
Mia pouted. Could her mom be any more blunt!
Andre looked at his mother-in-law, also intrigued. Did pregnancy dreams carry significance?
Mia asked, “Mom, did the green snake scare you in your dream when you were pregnant with
Cooper?”
“No.”
Mia felt perplexed. Her hand was on her belly. “Strange, why did it try to scare me?”
Madison speculated, “Maybe it’s a sign he’ll be a rebel.”
“Then I don’t want to give birth.”
Madison playfully slapped her daughter’s shoulder. “Nonsense.”
Andre recalled his own recent dreams. “Mom, since Mia got pregnant, I’ve been dreaming of
mountains, clear water, dense forests, and springs. Could this be a sign too?” Read at
Mia looked at her husband curiously. “Why didn’t you tell me before?”
Mia burst into laughter. Her face was relaxed, and a smile spread across her face as she made
amends with her husband.
At the sound of her cheerful laughter, Andre couldn’t help but join in.
Madison also chuckled. “This situation, it’s truly hard to predict.”
As evening fell, Aaron returned home, finding his son-in-law was at home and reconciled with his
daughter. He decided to play dumb and treated his son-in-law just as he used to.
Mia was overjoyed, and indulged herself at dinner, eating more than usual. Later, Andre saw how much
she was eating and couldn’t resist exerting his authority.
