Haidar started everything completely from scratch. Although he didn’t really need to do that. Being the only child of a Pratama family, it is certain that all the assets and property of the family will fall into his hands. But this did not make Haidar silent and immediately accepted all of it without any hard work.

It was the father who formed Haidar’s character like that. He did not want because of his status, the child to be arrogant. The man who formed most of Haidar’s character. To make the child become an independent and hard worker.

It was the birthday of his wife, Haidar’s father; Thomas Pratama not only prepared a surprise for the woman he loved so much but also a surprise for Haidar.

“From now on I entrust you with the company in Alatha,” said the man making Haidar look at him in disbelief.

“Is that true?” asked Haidar with sparkling eyes.

“Of course, son. You’re more than worthy to lead a company on your own without any more help from me,” Thomas answered, sounding so proud that his son had grown up the way he wanted.

Haidar threw a warm hug on his father making thunderous applause echoed because they were now on stage to be the center of attention of the guests.

The event continued. Congratulations continue to be received by Haidar who will become CEO of Pratama Corp Alatha branch and also happy birthday to Mrs. Shila Pratama.

They are now gathered in front of a round table while enjoying drinks and food.

“Now we just have to wait for Haidar to introduce his future wife to us,” said Shila, looking at her son as if giving a code.

“Why do you have to look far. Haidar is very close to Viona. Why not just marry Viona?” said one of the guests who knew that Haidar was close to Viona.

Viona who is now sitting beside Haidar can only hide her blushing face. Blush.

“What do you think, Haidar?” Shila asked with a smile that didn’t fade from her face. The mother’s brown eyes radiated such great hope. ‘Let’s say yes.’

“We’re just friends.”

Not only Shila was surprised by the child’s confession but Viona too. Exactly like a dagger stuck hard in her chest. It hurts to hear Haidar say that. While Haidar did not show the slightest guilt. He don’t know if his words have broken someone’s heart.

“Yes. We are just friends,” said Viona showing a fake smile. Haidar turned to the woman, smiled faintly and Viona replied.

“Ah, that’s a shame. And you guys look so good together,” said the woman, so disappointed.

Seeing the awkward atmosphere made Shila bring her friend to taste the food as a diversion. Leaving Haidar with Viona at the round table.

“Congratulations on your new position,” said Viona hoping the awkwardness would go away between them.

“Thank you,” said Haidar briefly.

“So when are you leaving for Alatha?”

“As soon as possible because I have many things to take care of,” said Haidar and took a sip of the drink in his hand.

It was quiet again between them. Unlucky! I hate this kind of atmosphere. Viona thought. Just because of Haidar’s words, they seemed to be sitting between a wall that was so high.

Not.

Viona will not allow it.

“So you’re really not interested in me?” Viona’s tone could have sounded joking but implied such a serious intention. She wanted to know the extent of their relationship.

“You’re an attractive woman, Vio. You can get any man you want,” said Haidar.

“Including you?”

Haidar chuckled as he turned to the woman sitting in front of him.

“Looks like you’re still thinking about the woman’s words,” said Haidar.

Viona shrugged her shoulders faintly. “I don’t know. I just wanted to know.”

Haider took a deep breath. The drink that was still a little left in his glass he gulped until it ran aground.

“For now I want to focus on my work. I’m just getting started and I don’t want to mess it up. You know that right?”

Actually, Haidar didn’t need to explain the situation to Viona anymore. How he sacrificed his dream to become a painter and instead entered the world of business that never caught his attention. Even now, Viona still wonders what is the reason why Haidar changed his mind and followed his father’s wishes.

Viona nodded slowly. “Yes. I know very well. Haidar the workaholic.”

“I take that as a compliment,” said Haidar inviting a small laugh between them. “For that, regarding a partner … it’s still a long way off. I want to get married if I’m really ready.”

“Okay… is that why you dyed your hair too?” Viona asked as she poured the drink back into Haidar’s glass. Raised her glass to invite the man to a toast. Haidar happily raised his glass.

Tling!

The sound of two glasses clashing.

“Maybe. But another reason is because I want a new atmosphere. Besides, the silver color makes me look more handsome,” said Haidar so confidently with his new appearance.

“Yes. It’s up to you,” said Viona making both of them laugh.

But the plan was just a plan, Haidar actually met the figure he had been looking for. The figure of a woman he met at the exhibition. The figure of a woman who so admired her work at that time. The figure of a woman who became his first fan. In fact, he had only lived in Alatha for three months. But fate seemed to have approached him.

His first meeting with the woman should have been a beautiful moment where he and the woman would reminisce about the past, but Haidar instead found the woman sitting alone at one of the cafe tables with a frustrated look on her face. He was just about to go over to the woman to make sure but a man already sat beside her. Finally Haidar just watched from afar. The jazz music was playing loudly enough that he couldn’t hear the two of them talking, not to mention that they were quite far apart.

Until he saw the woman wanted to get up from her seat. But she seems to have lost her balance. Making the man beside her swiftly catch the woman’s body.

Haidar wasn’t stupid enough to understand the current situation. Seeing the man carrying the woman out, Haidar quickly blocked him.

“Let her go!” Haidar commanded looking at the man sharply.

“Who are you?” the man asked aloud.

Haidar turned his gaze to the woman who was already half conscious. It turned out to be true, she was the woman Haidar had been looking for. Nothing has changed. The woman was still as beautiful and charming as the last time they met. But the question for Haidar now is, why did the woman end up here?

Without thinking Haidar immediately replied, “She is my mine!”

Haidar saw the glint of anger in the man’s eyes but it didn’t scare him. “So get your hands off her before I break your hand!”

Look. He even threatened the man.

“Tsk! Damn!” The last words that came out of the man’s mouth before leaving. Haidar quickly carried the woman’s body into his arms.

“Miss, are you all right?” asked Haidar. Seeing the woman just staring at him sadly, Haidar immediately carried himself bridal. “Looks like you’re really drunk.”

He took the woman into the car. Before moving, Haidar turned to the woman who was sitting beside him.

“Where are you taking me?” he asked quietly. But Haidar just smiled and put his seat belt on the woman’s body.

“Of course it takes you to a safer place than this place.”
