Stop, Your Grace!

Chapter 3 Framed Pregnancy

A month passed by quickly.

In the Lowe Manor, Melody was kneeling on the ground. Anthony, Melody’s father, was sitting on the main seat, furious.

“You fail me so much! I have raised you for so many years, and you never take your responsibility as a daughter. And now you are sleeping with some stranger and carrying a bastard! I’m so disappointed with you!”

“Father, I have never slept with anyone else and I have no children.” Melody gritted her teeth and straightened her back, without any intention of admitting her mistake.

“Shut up!” Anthony threw a pile of paper on her face, and the paper fell from the folder and scattered all over the floor. “You tell me about this pregnancy test report! Isn’t is your name on the paper?!”

Melody glanced at the report on the ground. When she saw the word “positive”, her face suddenly turned pale.

“Oh, Melody, is this yours?” said Beatrix, Anthony’s second wife who just came down from upstairs with a pregnancy test stick in her hand. “This is what I saw in the garbage can in your room.”

Anthony slapped on Melody’s face hard before she could explain what had happened.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“You asshole! There is only one month left for you to marry the son of the Green family. Now that you are pregnant, how do I explain this to them?”

“Father, this is not true, I want to go to the hospital and take the pregnancy test again!” Melody cried.

“Darling, this report was found in your room, as well as this pregnancy test stick. I’m afraid there’s no need for a second test, “said Beatrix as if she wish the fight would become more fierce.

“Mom, don’t say that.” Melody’s sister Sandy frowned and stepped forward to help Melody get up.

“Dad, maybe there’s a misunderstanding. How could my sister suddenly become pregnant? We need to confirm this.”

“Sandy!” Beatrix snapped at her daughter, “Come on, there is no room for you to speak.”

“But mother…”

“Come!” Beatrix pulled Sandy up. Melody lost support and fell to the ground in a mess.

“My love, you have seen the current situation. If the Green family know about this, the marriage would definitely be ruined. What should we do?” said Beatrix, stamping her feet anxiously. Then, a flash of light flashed, ” Could we just let Sandy marry Mr. Green instead? He wouldn’t know whom of our daughters he’s gonna marry anyway.”

“Mom…” Sandy looked at her mother with shock.

“Shut up. Beatrix looked in the past,” My love, perhaps it is the only way to end this disaster. Otherwise, when Mr. Green comes back from abroad and finds out the truth, he would definitely give us a hard time. ”

Anthony’s face was gloomy and he stared at Melody, who was in a mess on the ground. After thinking for a long time, he finally nodded. “This is the only way.”

Words fell like a thunder. Melody looked at the couple in front of her in consternation. “Beatrix! This is all your plan, isn’t it?” Melody had no idea why the pregnancy test report were found in her room.

“What are you talking about?” Beatrix was anxious and came forward to slap her in the face. “You ungrateful little bastard. I have treated you properly and nicely for the past year. Is this what you pay me back?”

Melody rubbed her swollen face, tears slipped down from her eyes. “It must be you. You framed me. I am not pregnant at all!” cried Melody.

She didn’t show any signs of pregnancy. Where did she get the pregnancy test report? It must be her stepmother who wanted to frame her!

“Melody!” Anthony was furious and held Beatrix tightly who was shaking with anger. “If you don’t respect your stepmother again, don’t blame me for not recognizing you as my daughter!”

Hearing this, Melody staggered a few steps. This is her father, who abandoned her mother in the past and now was abandoning her again.
