After washing up, Millie went to the living room on the first floor, where the TV was playing the same

headlines.

“Lowell Group Heiress Shocked as Winston Greer Rejects Her Proposal!”

Millie froze right before she drank her milk. Did that mean Winston chose to leave with Gloria?

“Morning, Mills.” Terrence came up to her and patted her on the head.

She looked up. “Good morning, Dad.”

“You haven’t watched the news, have you? Joanna Lowell tried proposing to Winston last night, but Gloria crashed the party! Oh, Gloria Meyer is still as fiery as before!” Terrence folded his legs on the couch and rested his arm on the armrest as he let out a belly laugh.

“It’s all Joanna’s fault for ruining everything for herself. She’s lucky enough to have a decent career, all thanks to our Mills, and she messed it all up!” Julia taunted when she descended the stairs and straightened her shirt.

Nodding, Terrence agreed, “This is karma for being a homewrecker. Things won’t go well for her.”

Millie shot her parents a knowing look. Were they joining hands to comfort her? After all, they rarely badmouthed anyone.

“Okay now, time for you two to go to work,” urged Millie.

She brought her breakfast to the couch, where she ate the food and watched the news. Someone had filmed the interaction last night at the restaurant, where Gloria forced Winston to choose between his family and Joanna. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

MING

It was Joanna who personally promised Gloria she’d break up with Winston so as not to put Winston in a difficult place.

Millie chewed on the toast in surprise. Had Joanna willingly agreed to break up with Winston?

Her phone started ringing. She answered, “Hello?”

“Mills, did the news? Did Joanna agree to break up with Winston?” Rachel asked with much

curiosity.

Smirking, Millie replied, “Why are you gossiping instead of working?”

“Of course I need to call you and gossip about it. I think I saw you in the news!”

Millle paused when she recalled that she was indeed at the scene last night. Rachel’s vision was certainly

sharp.

Rachel urged her, “Tell me. What happened?”

Millie turned off the TV and packed her breakfast. She left her house while telling Rachel everything that –had occurred the previous night.

When Millie was near the hospital, she suddenly shifted the topic of conversation. “Rachel, I have something to discuss with you.”

“Go ahead please, Ms. Caldwell,” Rachel teased her.

“Simon had wanted to talk about a partnership with you at the dinner party last time, but you were too occupied. I wonder if you have time to meet up with him and talk about it?”

“Ho ho!” Rachel perked up. “What’s going on here? Are you pulling strings for your new boyfriend now?”

“New boyfriend? That’s nonsense. Simon and I are just friends,” Millie immediately corrected her.

She smiled. “Oh, are you just friends‘? Well, I won’t take your request, then.”

“Hey, don’t do that.” Millie sounded exasperated. “Give him a chance.”

Rachel chuckled. “You do know you’re talking to a woman who turned down Jake Webson, don’t you?”

you as a friend. How about that?” Millie pouted. “I’m begging

After a short pause, Rachel chuckled brightly. “Of course I understand. You may give him my manager’s

contact.”

“That sounds more like it,” Millie said, chuckling. They chatted a bit more before she hung up.

Millie had wanted to share the contact number with Simon, but she mistakenly sent it to Jake.

Uh oh.

Soon, she received Jake’s message. “Is this the number of Rachel’s manager?*
