Millie had just stepped into the Cardiac Surgery Department when she overheard Vanessa gossiping, “Oh, the Lowells are going to be so humiliated after how they showed off their gift of Snowdrop herb only to send a fakel”

Another doctor nodded in agreement. “They’ve shot themselves in the feet.” Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

When Vanessa spotted Millie, she waved at her. “Hey, Dr. Caldwell! How are you doing? Are you discharged?”

Millie nodded. Eyes widening in disbelief, Vanessa went up to her. “Dr. Caldwell, how did you get your hands on the Snowdrop herb?”

Millie gaped. How should she reply to Vanessa? She couldn’t tell Vanessa she was the invincible M from the M Base.

In the middle of her dilemma, another doctor playfully shoved Vanessa with a grin. “Remember? She came from a medical family. They probably own all sorts of medicinal herbs. The Snowdrop herb is not a big deal for them!”

“Ooh, was it from Professor Cadmore?” Vanessa laughed along. “After all, you needed a presentable gift for your grandmother–in–law’s birthday!”

The door creaked open. Vanessa beamed when she saw the visitor. Then, she deliberately taunted, “You can’t be like that one mistress who gave Mrs. Greer Senior a fake to curry favor. It’s public knowledge now. Tsk tsk!”

Joanna, who arrived with a belligerent look, clenched her fists and turned to Millie. Millie remained silent as she grappled with conflicting emotions.

Joanna’s lackey immediately stood up and yelled at Vanessa, “Vanessa Xander, you’d better not start a fight early in the morning!”

“You poor little lapdog; I’m afraid your owner might never get ahead in life,” Vanessa replied.

Joanna walked over from the door and rudely shoved Vanessa before slapping her. The office descended into chaos when that happened..

After suffering mistreatment at Millie’s hands, Joanna was determined not to be bullied by Vanessa. Besides, she had grown up pampered in the Lowell family and believed Vanessa had no right to insult her.

“Why? Does that hurt?” Vanessa retorted.

Her remark fueled Joanna’s anger. Indeed, Joanna was hurt. She wasn’t any mistress. In reality, it was Millie who had taken Winston from her. If anything, Millie was the homewrecker!

“You bitch! I’ll teach you a lesson for insulting me!” Joanna grabbed Vanessa’s shirt and slapped her again.

Millie frowned and grabbed Joanna’s arm. “Joanna!”

Their eyes met. Millle believed that Joanna should come at her instead of poor Vanessa. She warned her,

Come at me if you have a problem. Don’t involve the innocent.”

“The innocent?” Joanna snorted. She released Millie and pulled at Vanessa’s hair. “A bitch who runs her mouth can hardly be described as Innocent!”

Joanna and Vanessa immediately got into a scuffle.

Hazel hurried in to break the fight. “Dr. Quinn will be here soon! Stop fighting!”

Millie tried to separate the two, but they were viciously holding onto each other.

Joanna, who looked intimidating at the start, gradually lost her advantage. Vanessa pinned her to the table and beat her into a pulp.

Joanna indignantly pulled out a few strands of Vanessa’s hair. In the process, Millie, who was protecting Vanessa, accidentally got scratched on the back of her hand.

Joanna grew furious when she saw Millie protecting Vanessa. She couldn’t get over the fact that Winston had kept Millie company for days at the hospital.

Plus, Millie sold out the Lowells. She started hitting Millie to vent her frustration.
