“Stop calling my name! It disgusts me!” Millie hissed at Winston.

In a second, she switched from being warm to heartless. NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

He grabbed onto his shirt. Did she just call him disgusting? Her impudent reaction was characteristic of

her.

“Meet with your Joanna and marry her! I wish you all the best!” She grabbed the apples from the bedside table and hurled them at him. “Get lost right now!”

Millie didn’t want him around for even a second longer. Did he seriously think that Joanna’s life was worth more than hers?

He even had the guts to claim that Joanna was different from her. She thought, “Well, of course we’re different–l came from a much more distinguished family than Joanna!”

Winston became deflated after Millie lashed out at him. Seething, he muttered under his breath, Unbelievable!”

With that, he left without looking back. She held tightly to her blanket until she heard the door slam shut. Silence was restored in the room. At that moment, she felt as though something had scalded the back of

her hand.

After a sleepless night, Millie went out to jog at 6:00 am. When she returned to the building, she noticed) everyone huddled together, gossiping.

Someone commented, “The Snowdrop incident happened ages ago. Who dug it up?”

“The news headlines were overwhelmingly critical of Joanna Lowell. I bet this is likely the doing of her rival. Who would that be, you think?”

“Everyone knows that she’s into Winston Greer. Millie Caldwell is Winston Greer’s wife. Say, could Millie Caldwell have tipped off the media?”

Millie, who happened to hear her name when she walked past, replied icily, “It wasn’t me.” Then, she hurried back to her room, where she checked the news on her phone.

The incident on Selma’s birthday, where Joanna gifted the old lady a fake Snowdrop herb, had exploded over the internet in a suspiciously orchestrated manner.

Various media outlets published the news with Joanna’s photo as they criticized her for gifting Selma Sigmund a fake Snowdrop herb.

“Scandal Alert: Lowell Group Gifts Selma Sigmund a Fake Snowdrop Herb! A Slap on the Face?”

“Birthday Drama: Joanna Lowell’s Fake Snowdrop Herb Gift Sparks Selma Sigmund’s Fury!”

“Birthday Bombshell: Joanna Lowell’s ‘Snowdrop Herb Exposed as Cheap Herb! What’s the Lowells‘ Real Motive?”

Joanna and the Lowells immediately became the target of public scrutiny. A commenter wrote, “Oh, the news finally broke. Kudos to the Lowells for keeping it under wraps for days, though!”

Another chimed in, “Did Joanna claim that she presented a Snowdrop herb when all she bought was a fake one? That’s ridiculous!”

Someone clarified, “Millie was the one who bought Selma the real Snowdrop herb. Look–this is what the herb looks like. The picture is proof!”

“Why would the powerful Lowells send Selma a fake gift, especially when Joanna and Winston are close? Isn’t this blatant disrespect to the Greers? They totally deserve the backlash!”

Millie read the news with a frown. Why did the media dig up the issue that had happened a while back?

In her confusion, someone flung her door open. Joanna angrily marched in, a jacket hanging perilously off one of her shoulders.

When she set sight on Millie, she immediately shoved her onto the bed. “Millie Caldwell, are you crazy?” She was practically hissing and breathing fire as she grabbed Millie’s collar.

Perplexed, Millie frowned and stared at Joanna. “What are you talking about?”

“Playing dumb, are we?” Joanna’s shrill voice scratched Millie’s eardrums. She was about to show Millie the news on her phone when she realized that Millie was doing the same.

She snatched Millie’s phone and pointed at the headlines. “Isn’t this your doing?”
