League 208

Millie wondered if she still loved Winston. Maybe she still had lingering feelings for him and couldn’t fully

let go.

She looked at his striking face and memories of their wedding day flooded her mind.

Rachel asked, “Millie, do you really love him that much? Would you still marry him even if he were cold to you?”

Back then, she had firmly declared, “I love him. He’s the only one I’ve ever loved. He’s the only one I will love.”

However, she could no longer muster the courage to confess her unwavering love. Millie forced a smile, determined to keep her dignity in Winston’s presence.

Winston was annoyed by the way she looked at him. Her smile felt like a dagger piercing his heart.

Millie said, “Grandma, I don’t love him anymore.”

Winston felt a pang of hurt. It wasn’t the first time she’d said she didn’t love him. However, it still stung every time she looked at him and smiled, confirming her words.

He couldn’t help but think back to their university days. She had stood before him and whispered with a smile, “Winston, let me share a secret with you,”

It was a secret everyone knew.

For the first time, she whispered in his ear, “Winston, I love you.”

Winston clenched his fists tightly. Memories of the past haunted him, causing him to lower his head.

Millie noticed him lowering his head, and her smile softened. “I’ve kept him by my side for so many years. It’s been hard on him. It’s time to set him free.”

To set both Winston and herself free.

Millie took a sip of her iced coffee, which turned out to be overly bitter and astringent. Luckily, it was iced. Otherwise, it would’ve been quite a shock to her system.

It appeared that the staff might have been having a rough day, using too many coffee beans and too

much ice.

Gloria couldn’t hold back her tears as she looked at Millie. “Mills.”

Over the years, Millie had endured mistreatment since she married into the Greer family..

Winston looked up at Millie. As he was about to say something. Millie interrupted him, “Mr. Greer, I agree. to a divorce.”

Winston had made this decision when he married her three years ago. However, it wasn’t until now that she finally agreed. Hearing this, Winston was filled with a mix of unease and shock.

Selma held Millie’s hand. “Mills, I don’t agree!”

Millie shook her head, determined to divorce him. She frowned and pleaded, “Grandma, please.”

“I’m used to having you around. Now you want to divorce Winston. What should I do?” Selma turned her head away, wiping her tears.

“Grandma, we can still spend time together as usual. Besides, he’s planning to marry someone else once we get divorced.”

Millie smiled at Winston and said, “I genuinely wish Mr. Greer and Ms. Lowell a lifetime of happiness.”

Winston froze at her words. He looked up and slammed his coffee cup down, causing the coffee to spill. He grabbed his suit jacket and walked out.

“Win!” Selma called out.

“I’m going to answer the phone and step out for a moment. Feel free to chat and carry on with whatever she wants to do,” he muttered.

Selma asked urgently, “What if Millie doesn’t want to go through with the divorce?”

Winston froze.
