Chapter 214
Now that Lizetta had divorced, Remington was all hers.
Once Lizetta was out of sight, Remington shifted his gaze onto Hanna.
“Liz just said it, didn’t she? I was bawling my eyes out begging her to stay, and the divorce didn’t go through. If I’m still his husband, why the heck would I get married?”
He had this poker face, totally deadpan, you couldn’t tell he was joking, and he sounded way too serious.
Hanna was once again stunned, and even Evelina looked up in shock.
Remington’s eyes were unreadable.
Evelina bit her lip, trying to hold back her impatience, then suddenly noticed Remington’s dangling right hand and gasped. NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
“Remi, what happened to your hand? Let me take a look, how on earth did you get this?”
Hanna also glanced over, her face showing concern.
Indeed, Remington’s right hand was dripping blood, he was clenching it so tightly that the wound was not clearly visible.
“What’s going on here?” Hanna still cared about her son.
Evelina, already anxious, stepped forward to reach for Remington’s hand, but he lifted his hand to avoid her.
He didn’t finish his sentence, a hint of self–derision flashed in his eyes as he strode out.
The cut in the palm of his hand was from that snapped card, not too deep, not too shallow, a trace of blood – he had already stopped the bleeding in the car and had forgotten the pain if not reminded.
Now that he was reminded, he felt the pain again and realized he had clenched his fist too hard and reopened the wound.
But Lizetta had been with him the whole time, and she hadn’t even noticed the wound on his hand.
Probably, now that they were divorced, she acted like he was invisible to her.
“Hey, Remington!”
Hanna called out, but he kept walking with a cold back, not turning around. Hanna frowned.
“It must be because of that Lizetta, that jinx, that home–wrecker! But what did Remington mean just now, are they divorced or not?”
This was driving her nuts!
Evelina was also tearing her hair out in frustration. She comforted Hanna and herself, saying.
“With Remi’s personality, how could he possibly be crying and begging in front of a mediator? He must be divorced. Just wait, Mrs. Hanna, I’ll go to the window and ask.”
Ten minutes later, Evelina got the answer she wanted.
She sent Hanna back home, sweet–talking and pampering her the whole way until Hanna was happy as a clam. Evelina only left when she was perfectly content.
On the way back, thinking of Lizetta’s arrogant demeanor earlier, Evelina turned gloomy.
Why was Lizetta still smiling?
Daring to say she was picking up the pieces, implying that Evelina was only good enough for Lizetta’s leftovers?
What a bitch!
Evelina’s eyes were cold as she pulled out her phone and called Jolin.
“Mom, today Lizetta and Remington submitted their divorce papers. Lizetta has already applied to be a student of the world–renowned dancer Dories and will soon go abroad for further study. You didn’t know about this, did you?”
On the other end of the phone, Jolin’s voice was predictably sharp and anxious.
“What? Divorced? Studying abroad? That ungrateful girl! She didn’t breathe a word of it to me, heartless thing. Is she planning to ditch me and go off to enjoy herself abroad?”
that
Evelina sighed, “Mom, if Lizetta doesn’t care about you, she can’t just ignore Thaddeus, right? If she goes abroad and doesn’t come back, what will happen to him?”
Jolin was already on her way out to find Lizetta; she couldn’t let Lizetta fly the coop like that.
Without Lizetta, how would she ever step foot in the Dashiell family’s door again, where would she get money?
But Lizetta wasn’t easy to handle, that heartless girl was tough as nails and didn’t give a damn about her, getting money out of her was tougher than reaching the heavens.
Hearing Evelina’s words, Jolin’s eyes lit up with a plan.
The next day. Lizetta went to the hospital early. She had already discussed with Hogan over the phone the night before to come to the hospital and handle the transfer procedures for her brother.
Thaddeus had also contacted the medical team in Astoria, who would immediately send medical personnel to take care of Thaddeus‘ vital signs for the entire journey abroad.
However, Lizetta didn’t expect that the transfer procedures would be so troublesome.
Jolin, who hardly ever came to see Thaddeus, was already in the hospital room early in the morning. with her brother’s family, blocking Lizetta from taking Thaddeus away.
