Say You Will Be Mine

Chapter 24 Get Out

Chapter 24 Get Out

A piece of paper floated down from Laney's face and was seized by her pale hands.

It was a posthumous paper that Matilda left to Samuel before she died, knowing that her time was

coming.

“Samuel, I should be gone by the time you see this letter.

I don't know if my death will appease you. I didn't leave you on purpose. It was Laney who forced me to

leave.

There was nothing between me and Aaron. Rebecca is your child, she inherits my leukemia, and I

dared not let you know. I had to beg Aaron to take me out of the country.

Maybe my time is really Matilda. Recently, I often have a dream that we fell in love. We talked about

our life when we have children, and even quarreled on the names of the children... It was a very happy

memory.

Samuel, be careful of Laney. I do not know if you would take these words seriously, but for the last

time, Laney is not the right person to you.

I'm a dying man, but you still have decades of life and deserve a better girl.

Samuel, I'm sorry I can't say goodbye to you. I hope you can treat Rebecca and the child in my belly

well.

Even if... Even if you get someone in the future, don't dump them, okay?

I'm fine, don't miss me.”

“No! She's slandering me!” Laney dropped the paper and said in a sharp voice.

She was anxious and pulled Samuel's sleeve, but dodged by Samuel.

“Samuel, don't you believe me? My leg and my face were damaged by that bitch Matilda. She said it

was to divide us. She won't let me go even after she's dead, believe me --”

Before she could finish, Samuel called bodyguards carried her wheelchair out. In the last moment of

the door closed, she heard Samuel's indifferent voice.

“I will find out about the car accident, and about all the dirty things you've done to Matilda over the

years. You better hope I don't find them, or I'll get them back on you!”

“No!” Sad and shrill cry echoed in the courtyard of the yard. Laney was heavily thrown to the door,

rolling down the steps with the wheelchair.

Samuel seemed not to hear that. She turned around just to Rebecca holding an empty milk bottle and

looking at him in fear. His icy face eased slightly, showing a helpless look.

He rubbed his forehead, not knowing how to get along with children.

After a long silence, the belly of Rebecca growled. She covered her belly in fear, trying to make the

belly sound less loud.

Samuel recovered to himself, took away the empty bottle in her hand and looked at the sleeping baby

on the sofa. He felt relieved.

He turned to Rebecca and asked, “Hungry?”

Rebecca shook her head with alert, but her belly growled again.

She was awkward.

What should she do? The devil smiled at her. Oh no, he was to touch her head, should she avoid it......

Samuel took his hand away from Rebecca’s head, feeling embarrassed that Rebecca’s stiff breath.

He coughed and pretended nothing happened and said, “Take care of your brother, I'll go and cook you

a bowl of noodles.”

Because of Matilda's strong demand before, the servants in the home were dismissed. Samuel had to

cook it by himself.

When he carried the noodle out, he noticed Rebecca looked at him carefully. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

He put the bowl on the table, beckoned to Rebecca. It was the first time they had noodles in peace.

He did not know if Rebecca was scared or usually used to be like this, Rebecca picked the noodles one

by one into her mouth. Samuel had finished a bowl of noodles, Rebecca had not finished one tenth of

it.

Samuel sat at the table waiting for her. Ten minutes passed, and then twenty minutes passed... and

she still had not finished it.

“Are you eating cat food? It takes you a long time to finish it.” Samuel could not help but say.

The quiet house suddenly sounded Samuel's voice. Rebecca’s hands shook in fear and her chopsticks

fell down.

Samuel took a deep breath, picked up the chopsticks from the ground, and handed over a pair of new

chopsticks to Rebecca.

“I won't urge you, eat slowly, I go to see your brother.”

He was afraid that she could not finish eating all night with him around. Samuel went to the living room

and took a look at the child lying swaddled on the sofa.

The little guy was sleeping soundly, biting his fingers.

Samuel smiled, took out the child's fingers from his mouth, and wiped them with tissue.

Then he went to the balcony, opened the window and lit a cigarette.

With the smoke curling up, Samuel's handsome face was bathed in the half-light, and an atmosphere

of sadness almost engulfed him.

Rebecca took a look at the man smoking alone in the balcony, suddenly she felt he was pitiful.

She would not afraid of him for the time being, and finally she finished eating the noodles.

What Samuel said to Laney was not a threat.

Since that day, her family had suffered an unprecedented disaster.

First, Amanda had a car accident and her legs were broken. No one would know if she could survive

lying in the hospital, and then her father's company also went wrong and had to declare bankruptcy.

Even some of the bars and restaurants in which she invested with her personal savings were found to

have problems and were forced to close.

Her family had a very difficult time.

Listening to the report of subordinates, Samuel did not have the pleasure of revenge but only

exhaustion.

It had been a month since Matilda died. In the past month, he made Laney's family fell in such a panic

that there was no way to escape. It seemed that he had avenged Matilda, but only he knew he could

not fall asleep every night

At first he thought he was just too sad and would be better as time passed.

But as a month went by, he didn't get better. Instead, it got worse and he had to take sleeping pills to

sleep properly in order to have the energy to take care of his two children.

‘Matilda, you are gone, but I am ruined.’

He thought deadpan.
