Salute To The General

Chapter 3233 Entering The City

The convoy started their journey again.

Inside one of the trucks, there was a cage.

Daveth and Betty, two elites from the Curia, were forced to cram with a large group of disheveled survivors.

The Curia represented purity and sanctity, and they were War Gods of the Light.

Thus, the experience of being forced to share a cramped space with unclean survivors made them feel disgusted.

Soon, they noticed Nathan from a stone's throw away.

He, too, was also trapped in the cage, but he did not seem to be bothered by the people around him. He even intentionally smeared some dirt on his face, trying to blend in with the other prisoners. Nathan sat at a corner of the cage with his eyes closed, his body swaying gently in response to the jostling of the vehicle.

It was obvious that he, a former soldier, was not afraid of dirt or stench and could adapt to any harsh environment.

Daveth and Betty could not help but admire Nathan's composure.

After driving for an indeterminate amount of time, the truck finally stopped.

Immediately after, someone forcefully opened the door with a loud bang, causing a blinding beam of light to flood the cramped space.

The convoy had arrived at the city gate of Kushburn, and the vampire warriors stationed at the checkpoint were inspecting all the incoming and outgoing vehicles.

At that moment, Nathan could vaguely hear the vampires talking.

It seemed the captain of the guards was talking to Adolphus.

"Lord Adolphus, did you encounter any trouble during the attack?" the captain asked.

"I don't want to talk about it. Everything was going smoothly, but something strange happened on my way back," Adolphus said.

"What happened?"

"Someone killed one of my barons. We didn't even know who did that," Adolphus replied.

"Oh, dear. I heard an elite of the human race had infiltrated our territory. Patriarch Herod had summoned all the princes to hunt him down. Could he be coming here?" the captain asked.

Nathan could not help but feel a little nervous. Does that mean the patriarch of the vampire found out that we have intruded on his territory?

Adolphus, too, was taken aback by what the captain said. He said curtly, "Don't scare yourself by spouting nonsense if you don't have the evidence."

The captain responded with a wry smile. "Hey, it was just a casual remark."

Adolphus shorted. "Out of all the places, those d*mn humans chose to come to Kushburn. If they dare steponto the city, I'll make sure they won't walk out alive!"

The captain of the guards too responded with a grin. "Of course. There are five hundred thousand vampire warriors here. Killing a few human elites is just a walk in the park."

Adolphus, not wanting to continue the conversation, impatiently raised his voice. "Are you guys done with the inspection?"

"Yes, Lord Adolphus. The inspection is over. You can enter the city now," the captain replied.

Adolphus returned to his truck and gradually drove into Kushburn.

Kushburn was a large city.

The vampire population alone was already five hundred thousand, and the estimated number would be much higher if ordinary humans and slaves were taken into account. The convoy drove for another hour in the city before stopping.

Adolphus ordered his vampire warriors to drive all the humans out of the cage and gathered them together.

Under the moonlit sky, Nathan and the rest of the humans were brought to a small plaza.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

They were surrounded by murderous-looking vampire warriors.

Adolphus gave his subordinates an order. "Pick the most handsome men and beautiful women and send fifty of them to Prince Max's residence."

It turned out that every time the patrol team went out to capture humans, they would send the best-looking men and women to the prince's residence.

The aristocrats in the prince's

residence demanded good-looking

individuals to be their servants, and

they would only drink fresh blood that came from attractive men and women.

Humans delivered to the prince's residence would either end up becoming their servants or being killed for their blood to be used in banquets. Soon, Adolphus had chosen fifty people from the crowd.

To Nathan's surprise, he and his teammates, including Wolfric, were all selected.
