Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1352

After finishing his sentence, Joseph stepped into the elevator, leaving James deep in thought. Though he hadn't said a word, James was already piecing things together in his mind. He knew Joseph hadn't been entirely truthful. At the very least, James was convinced he hadn't been reincarnated. If reincarnation wasn't at play, then those memories of a past life must have been implanted by Joseph while James was unconscious.

If James could implant those memories into his own mind, he could likely do the same to others. It seemed he needed to dig deeper and uncover what Joseph had been up to during the past two decades.

Meanwhile, in the Burke family mansion, inside Bea's bedroom, the atmosphere was tense.

"Where's James? He hasn't even bothered to see me since he got back! Does he plan on keeping me cooped up here forever? Go fetch him right now!" Bea demanded, frustration boiling over. She had been under James's restrictions for days, and the thought of stepping outside felt like an impossible dream.

Marian, standing nearby, tried to offer an explanation. "Bea, Mr. Burke has been tied up with business lately, so..."

"Business? Is that more important than his own grandmother? Has he completely forgotten about me?" Bea's face was a storm of dissatisfaction. "Ungrateful, the lot of them! I must've been cursed to end up with such ungrateful descendants! Like father, like son!"

Just then, the door flew open, startling Marian. She froze upon seeing who stood there-Joseph. He calmly gestured for Marian to leave. In her daze, a bodyguard had to escort her out.

"Why aren't you doing what I asked?

I told you to fetch someone! Didn't you hear me?" Bea's anger had

nowhere to go until she turned saw Joseph standing in the doorway. Despite the twenty that had passed, she couldn@forget that face. Her momentary daze quickly turned to sharp reality, like waking from a bad dream.

"Ethan! You... How did you... Who let you come back?" There was no joy in Bea's eyes, only sheer terror.

Joseph stepped forward, and Bea instinctively stepped back. "Mother, is it really such a problem for me to come see you?"Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

"I have no son like you! None!" Bea's attempt at composure was shaky at best. "You know you're supposed to be dead, don't you? Why are you here? Get out! Just leave!"

"Mother, if it hadn't been for you,

Rose would still be alive." Joseph's voice was cold and steady. "I thought after what happened with Rose, you'd have changed. But t seems you treat your

granddaughter-in-law just the same."

"You... You..." Bea's voice faltered as she looked at Joseph like he was a ghost from her past. She kept retreating, but Joseph continued to advance. "Now I'm back, and James has acknowledged me. I'll be running Burke International from now on, so you can enjoy your retirement in peace."

He added with a touch of irony, "By the way, have you enjoyed the soup you've been drinking in the mornings? I made it myself."

"You!" Bea gasped, clutching her chest as fear rippled through her. "For a woman... for an actress! You would do this to your own mother!"
