“Andy, is it this one?” Mayra asked.

After drinking water, Andy placed the empty cup on the bedside table. “Open and see if you like it.”

Mayra opened the box. It was an extremely rare red beryl bangle. She

recognized it immediately. “It’s for me? I can’t accept it.”

She instantly closed the jewelry box and returned it to Anderson. “It’s too precious!”

Anderson took out the bangle. “Give me your hand.”

“Andy, I really can’t accept it. You’ve already given me so much.”

Anderson said, “Just take it.”

In her past life, this bangle had caused a sustained conflict between Isabel and Anderson. Mayra didn’t know its origin and instinctively felt she shouldn’t

accept it.

“Andy, I really can’t take it. You should give it to Isabel. The things I bought previously are incomparable to you giving her a gift personally.”

Anderson explained, “I just think it’ll look nice on you. It’s not that valuable.”

Then, he grabbed Mayra’s hand and put the bangle on for her. The bangle seemed to emanate heat. Myra said, “Andy, what are you doing? I really can’t accept this!”

As she spoke, she attempted to take off the bangle. For some reason, it

wouldn’t come off even though it had gone on easily.

Myra couldn’t understand why Anderson would give her the bangle even though she didn’t ask for it in this life.

Anderson said, “Not bad, it looks good on you.”

While trying to remove the bangle, Mayra felt a notch. She raised her hand to inspect it closely. “Andy, why is it damaged here?”

The red bangle accentuated her fair skin

Anderson simply replied, “It must’ve gotten chipped on the way back. It’s nothing serious.” Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

He held her hand while she sat on the edge of the bed. Suddenly, he leaned in and rested his head on her lap. He made his intentions clear.

Leaning against the bed, Mayra applied force to massage the pressure points on Anderson’s head to ease his–headache.

“Andy, I really didn’t go to see Gordon.”

Anderson replied, “Don’t do it again.”

“Okay,” Mayra responded.

She frowned while looking at the bangle on her left hand. She decided to wait for the right time to remove it.

Her hands grew tired from massaging. Upon hearing Anderson’s steady breathing, she assumed he had fallen asleep.

In the past, Anderson also liked to lean on her like this. Only by doing so could he fall into a deep sleep every time.

Mayra wondered if he really just regarded her as his younger sister. Since he often gave her hope, she thought he had feelings for her.

She drifted off to sleep while still massaging Anderson’s head. After a long while, she dreamed about being buried in mud again.

Suffocation, darkness, confinement, pain…

Mayra woke up drenched in a cold sweat and saw the faint light of dawn outside the window. With lingering fear from her nightmare, she touched the person beside her and heard a deep voice. “Did you have a nightmare?”

Mayra thought about how they both ended up sleeping together again.

“… I’m okay. Andy, you can go back to sleep. I’m going to get some water.‘

She threw off the blanket and got out of bed as if escaping. She used getting water as an excuse. After returning to the room across the hall, she sat on the couch with her hand supporting her forehead. She no longer felt sleepy.
