Reclaiming My Broken Luna

Chapter 203: New Person

Astrid's POV

My heart skipped a beat when I saw Killian striding confidently towards us. Killian looked different from what I remembered. He had grown more mature, manly, serious and confident.

He looked like a man who had gone through so many difficulties, sharpening him like a sword.

His broad shoulders stretched through the fabric of his clothes, showing his masculinity. His jawline looked sharper, his features more defined, and his eyes that used to contain mirth and mischief now held a depth of unfathomable stories in them. His boyish charm had been replaced by a rugged, masculine appeal that sent a shiver down my spine.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

But it wasn't just his physical development that struck me. There was also that seriousness in his demeanor, a quiet intensity that replaced the flippant immaturity of his younger self.

I straightened myself as I watched him move with purpose and a quiet confidence that emanated from within. He now feels and looks like the Alpha that he should have been.

Time slowed to a crawl as his gaze, a dark, fathomless pool, swept across us and landed on me.

I tightened my fist as a jolt of recognition crossed both our features. A flicker of something familiar passed between us the moment our gazes locked together.

My breath hitched, a hummingbird trapped in my chest. I tried to hold my stand and sustain his gaze, but its intensity was too much to bear.

I looked away, a blush warming my cheeks as if I had been caught in a forbidden catch; I'm afraid if I continued to be defiant, Killian would have seen through me.

My gaze landed on Giselle right after I disconnected from Killian's intense gaze. It didn't escape to me how her eyes burned with anger and jealousy when she caught Killian and me in a silent connection.

"Ryker," Killian muttered his son's name tenderly when Ryker left her mother and ran towards his father's arms.

Killian bent his knees as he welcomed his son, who had dried tears on his face. "Are you okay, Ryker?" Killian questioned his son worriedly as he wiped his son's face.

"Killian! Killian, help us," Giselle ran towards her husband for help. "I'm so glad that you came. If it weren't for you, they would have also killed me," Giselle spoke like a victim.

"What exactly happened?" Killian asked as he stood back up and held his son by his hand.

I watched blankly as they stood together as one family. If Giselle didn't come to ruin our lives. Would I be the one who would have a complete family instead?

It would have been so great and different if I were still Killian's wife. Although Killian wasn't a loving husband and my mother-in-law always gives me trouble, it will still all be worth it as long as my son is alive. "Ryker got lost and while we were looking for him, we saw him here with Astrid. I was so worried about Ryker that's why I asked her questions, but Astrid took it so badly that they threatened to kill me," Giselle answered instantly. "You were so arrogant in accusing my friend that she harmed your son! Your son is unharmed yet, you still shamelessly threw her insults, tainting her reputation!" Daphne yelled angrily.

She was so irritated that her arms were trembling in anger.

"So was that enough reason for you to take my life?!" Giselle shot back.

"You!" I held Daphne back when she stepped forward to fight against Giselle.

Of course, the words that Giselle spoke earlier should be enough to have her killed on the spot. After all, am the daughter of the Shadowfang Pack's Alpha, and she's accusing me of having an affair with my own father without proper evidence.

"Okay, that's enough!" Killian spoke commandingly. "Giselle, you weren't hurt, right? And Ryker is not hurt also. There's no point in pursuing this matter when nobody is harmed," Killian spoke calmly, but his words were pointed directly at Giselle.

Giselle looked aggrieved as she stared at her husband with a defiant gaze. She doesn't want to let go of the matter.

Killian stepped forward and faced us. "Miss Astrid and Miss..." Killian spoke.

"Daphne," Daphne blurted out irritatedly.

"Miss Astrid and Miss Daphne, I apologize on behalf of my son and wife. I'm sorry if they misspoke," Killian muttered with arms raised and head lowered.

Daphne's eyes widened with unexpected surprise. Meanwhile, my whole body tensed, not expecting that Killian would show this kind of response to us.

Killian had always been a man of pride, and he had always hated me. I didn't expect that he would bow down to us with lower status than him, and I most especially did not expect that he would lower his head to me. "Killian!" Giselle gasped in surprise, not expecting that her husband would lower himself before us.

Giselle tried to grab Killian's arm and force him up. However, Killian remained steadfast and refused to be swayed by her wife.

"Fine," I spoke up, stealing everyone's attention. "Your wife had been so rude to me. Next time, teach her some manners."

"You!" Giselle yelled once again and even dared to lift a finger against me. Before Giselle could continue with her words, Killian instantly held her down and stopped her.

"I understand. Thank you for accepting my apology," Killian answered professionally.

My brows furrowed a little, not

expecting that Killian would still

remain this calm. I added those words not just to provoke Giselle but also to provoke him; however, not only did my words fail to receive a reaction from him, but they also did nothing to stir him.
